Get Well Message for Michael from the Polynesian Cultural Center

- We received an email from a Parent who expressed his desires to bring his family to the Polynesian Cultural Center especially his young 10 year old son Michael Alaniz who through the pictures and videos of his parents honeymoon, wanted to experience the same thing they did in Hawaii all those years ago. Heres an extract his father wrote in the email:
"...Michael has congenital heart disease and has endured several heart surgeries in his childhood. He again had surgery last week and will be recovering indoors for the rest of his summer. He recently asked me again about planning a trip to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Unfortunately, outdoor activity or travel is not allowed for him right now. I am hoping the Polynesian Cultural Center can send him a special get well message or gift. It would make this kid very happy...."
We couldn't be more happier than to fullfill this request and decided to get as many employees involved. Their anticipation when they heard about Michaels story goes to show the love we have for a young man who struggles with battles we may never experience, but if we could send just a little bit of Aloha to cheer up his day then I feel as if we have cured his heart condition in so many more ways.

I just wanted to send you a small follow up note regarding our son, Michael Alaniz. All of the good people at PCC were kind enough to make Mike a very special get well video a couple of summers ago while he was recovering from heart surgery. I have to tell you that Mike still happily watches the video and likes to show it to his friends (BIG SMILES!) Well, this kid has done amazingly well since then and is now in middle school and playing baseball with Holiday Park Little League in Phoenix, Arizona. Needless to say, Mike's family, friends and supporters, are thrilled to see him active and out on the field enjoying his sport again. We all thank you again so much for helping Michael through his recovery. And I personally thank you all for your act of kindness when my son was going through a tough time in his life. I truly believe the video has helped him in getting to where he is today.

Even better, the young lady that danced the Tahitian Drum Beat with the Young Fella is Miss Cook Islands 2012, Teuira Napa, and is also the Current Miss South Pacific 2013-2014... Very Lucky Boy!!!!
