Yes! That one really pissed me off because it’s SO untrue! Americans (and Australians!) go out of their way to help others and would never think of taking a tip!
And I agree, when we offer to help out a stranger-open the door, help with their groceries loading into their car, taking a pic with their cell phone of them and a friend, or whatever it is, we’re genuinely just being kind! I think for the most part Americans are just brought up to be polite and kind to everyone.
My sister moved back to Pennsylvania after 40 years in Florida. She was very worried about driving in snow and ending up in a ditch. I told her that within 30 minutes, a guy with a truck and a towstrap would be along. They generally don't want any money, but if you happen to have a beer, they'll take one lol
This is true! I was driving in Wisconsin, slid into a ditch, and was pulled out and on my way in less than 30 by a guy with a winch mounted on his pickup! Love me a country boy! He accepted an ice cold 6 pack I had in my trunk! 😅
We love you Lewis! I'm a 37 year old mom from TX and my 46 year old brother heard me watching one of your video's when he came over for dinner one night. He was so happy to see I followed you too. ❤ From Texas.
We really do love pets here in in America! I live in Massachusetts and we have a PetCo where all pets are allowed. One guy brought in a pet donkey. It was so CUTE!!!
My mother watches some homesteader's who have a pet donkey. If you interact with them consistently from when they're little they act very similar to a dog when they're older. Donkey's are very smart.
I don’t know what she is talking about when she says you have to pay for everything. We have all kinds of people volunteering for free either in groups or on their own. For example, I just retired from teaching but I go back for about an hour a day, four days a week to help the teachers and students that I worked with. I don’t expect payment. I just love still being involved with the teachers and students. I have a neighbor who shovels our sidewalks every winter when we are at work. I don’t even know for sure who it is because they have never told us. Maybe I will find out this winter because I will be home more. These things happen all over the country.
I changed a lady's car tire in the rain once, and she was so grateful! The memory of it was its own reward . I'd never accept a tip for helping someone out when they're practically crying with gratitude. I only lived a few blocks away, and I drove a beater with a heater. I paid it forward because a girl working at a gas station gave me $10 of free gas when I got lost in Chicago with a low fuel tank and had no way to pay. We Americans seem to have compassion for others in a jam; maybe it's all that freedom? 😁 God bless America!
My dad always took care of snow removal. I think it was 5 houses that he did. He noticed that they didn't have a snow blower. Dad was retired, so he did their snow removal. He just wanted to help them and would never take any money for that. He can not do it anymore. Now the neighbors get his snow blower out of the garage and do what he did. Helping people is given freely. This isn't everywhere I know, but I'm proud of my dad. He taught the younger neighbors how to help each other.
Nobody expects a tip for helping people out, unless they are a service worker. Americans are kind and very often help somebody in need, and if you offered them money afterwards 95% of the time they'd refuse it, because they didn't do it for the money. They helped because that's how they'd want to be treated if in a similar situation. Short story, our car wouldn't start(bad battery) at Wallmart late at night. We didn't ask anybody for help but one family noticed we were having trouble and offered to help and then 2 other families also joined in to help. It took a good 20 minutes to finally get the car to start and everybody stuck around to make sure we were good to go.
True story: I was going home after a wedding and got a flat tire. Had to pull into a shopping center. There were 3 or 4 landscape people there trimming hedges and whatnot. One man saw my predicament and changed my tire so I wouldn't mess up my nice "minister" clothes. I wish I had more, but gave him a $10 for the help. Not sure if he expected monetary thanks or not, but I felt weird NOT giving him what I had on me at the time.
I find it to be a natural reaction. Someone willingly came over to assist you and you felt they needed to be compensated for their deed. Some will politely turn down the offer and others will happily accept while not expecting it.
It's easy to support you. You seems like a nice guy, you have a good sense of humor, and you can make fun of yourself. It's a pleasure to watch your videos. Sometimes you have this Nana laughing like crazy.
In my neighborhood most homes have pets mostly dogs. In the US there are also dog bakeries that have birthday cakes for dogs, arrange birthday parties for dog fur babies and their fur baby friends, plus treats that look like pastries, dog costumes for holidays, and dog clothes.
The draw back to having pets in public places is always the other people around you - you never know who might be allergic to pet hair. Usually, it's certified service animals that are allowed in public venues.
I appreciate the milk options because I'm lactose intolerant. I always opt for almond milk or oat milk. As a life long American, I love choices because I'm a picky eater 😂😂
My grandma said it was good luck to leave the Christmas decorations up well into January because then you're intentionally carrying the Christmas spirit into the new year. Have you ever heard of this? I honor the tradition because she did.
Presidents Day and Easter and Mothers Day and Fathers Day and Memorial Day and I’m not even mentioning basketball, football, baseball, hockey or even for those of us that do religious days(reason to have dinner together). Yeah, we do have a lot reasons to party!🤗
She's right about the themes Lewis, I like that too, especially for the kids ...New Years .. Valentines, St Patricks, Easter .. Memorial is the opening of summer , June end of school ... 4th of July, September Labor Day (end of summer ) Fall . Oct Halloween, November Thanksgiving, Christmas .... its nice because it makes the cold weather seasons more cheery

With the commercialism point she made, I've never seen someone ask or expect a tip for helping someone out. That's usually part of restaurants in the country because they pay they recieve is so much less and the big part of their income comes from tips. However, between advertisements everywhere and general culture of "have to buy" because it's new or better.. USA is extreme in spending cash even if you really don't need what you're buying compared to many countries.
As an American, when it comes to free help, it depends on how you act. If you're a nice person that is willing to help if I need it. If you act entitled then you're paying. I enjoy your reaction videos L3WG, have a good day.
It’s true… we love to celebrate. There’s always a theme! We do have large homes! We are a family of 5. We live in a 3400 sq ft home…5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, dining room, family room, office/loft, 3 car garage… which is common in our Southern California city. We also have to work very hard to afford it! Love your videos Lewis!
My first apartment in St Petersburg, Florida was only about 350 sq ft lol. It was $750/mo. My current apartment in northwest Pennsylvania is at least twice the size, and $725/mo. It very much depends where in America you are
It’s not true, a lot of people in the US help people without expecting anything in return. That’s the free friendliness of Americans. Yes, a lot of things are for sale but that doesn’t mean there aren’t people that aren’t willing to give a hand to be genuinely nice.
Not just the same video, the same one all the other guys react to, lol. I watch Andre, Lev, Adam, Mr.H, Kabir, that crowd. It's like there's a "stable" of certain videos or creators to choose from. I predict the French girl's trip to LA will be coming along soon ;-)
Restaurants and stores aren’t allowed to ask if it’s an emotional or service animal. People take advantage of that. And tipping is getting ridiculous. They used to want 10% then they wanted 15% now they want 20%. It’s crazy everyone expects a tip. Your hairdresser, your nail salon, your taxi/ride, yard worker, and on and on.
In the US, you can only take your pets to pet excepted places. Like restaurants usually, they will let you have dogs outside but not indoors. Not everywhere.
Some people’s mind see the world as zero-sum (you gain, then i lose) and some do not. In a zero-sum mind-frame, anyone else’s success is a direct threat to your’s
I think I'm actually liking her. She is finally being positive even about the negative things!! You think the cereals are plentiful??? Look in the chip or cookie isles.. ridiculous LOL
My husbands dog is a certified service dog from his PTSD from service overseas so in that case yes ANY animal(for the most part unless its like a monkey or chicken or something lolol) legally is allowed. that being said, most dogs are allowed most places because bars and restaurants have created outdoor spaces to be able to come and bring your dog to hang out without actually being inside where certain people(karens) may have issues with it.
@@barbaramelone1043 obviously i get that. i am referring to the karens who just want to be difficult. hence my mentioning of indoor and outdoor spaces.
With exception of a couple of states in America, servers and bartenders only make 1.66 British pounds per hour, so the customer is expected to tip 20 to 25%. Of the bill to offset the person's pay. If this was not the case , the employer would have to spend 2 to 3 times the amount of money Per employee to give payroll as Text texas to the government
Oh yeah! Our dogs are treated better than kids! A pup cup is something different from Starbucks, or a fast food restaurant but if you have your dog in the car they will give you a treat for them or more! We went to a doggie birthday party at a dog park bar restaurant where outside the tables were higher so the doggies couldn’t get human food but they had grass and water bowls everywhere and all ran around together and it was awesome!!! 😂
NIce, . . . Americans do not always expect a Tip for helping you, . . . unless you are in a tourist area. Tourist areas have professional "help" available and it is likely difficult for foreigners to differentiate between a pro and a Good Samaritan. Hotels are the epicenter of tipping.
Physically disabled people with service animals cannot be declined service, so service animals are allowed in restaurants and stores, however, most people will put down a hard line when people bring in dogs in purses or your non-service pet. It also depends on what state and city within that state that has cafes that cater to animals. I've lived my entire life in Massachusetts and I haven't seen one cat cafe or dog cafe.
The sizes of houses depends a lot on where you live. If you live in the city, don't expect much. If you live out in the county, then you have much more to work with and it's cheaper!
Yes, no service animal of any kind can be banned, not just dogs, but any establishment is allowed to ban typical pets. If you are caught calling your PET a SERVICE ANIMAL in order to be let in a shop or restaurant, there can be a fine in some places
In Boston Massachusetts they actually have a doggy bus that will come into the city and pick up your dogs and take them to doggy daycare and bring them back at the end of the day…
Yeah, as an American, I have never encountered anyone who helps somebody and expects a tip. People do expect sincere thanks. Now, if someone helps with, say, a minor repair and brings materials, it's considered polite to offer reimbursement for the materials. And there's another facet: sometimes, if a good deed is above and beyond, or you know this is your helper's paying job, you can offer, without being insulting, to pay them for their expertise, or to make a donation to, say, a local food bank or free clinic in their name. I find this creates good feeling all around.
Seeing eye dogs are allowed anywhere. They used to be.Love watching your videos Lewis,I also watch Diane and Adam’s also.Lewis,You always bring a smile to my face.Thank You😊
Rural communities are more helpful in America too. Pretty sure her US experience is limited to larger cities and more touristy locations. Watch video's from something like c90adventures and most interactions you see in rural areas are the people are more than willing to help and not expecting anything in return.
Idk what she means by "everyone needs a tip." That's just not true, i mean, if you're like at a restaurant or coffee shop or something, where you're paying for a service, yea, but almost all people are more than willing to help just to help if you're kind to them, its the same as anywhere else I'd like to imagine
NYC includes the 5 boroughs, not just Manhattan, theres Queens, Bronx , Brooklyn and Staten Island so there are huge houses in New York still. We dont call them themes, these are the holidays that we are into.
America is SOOOOO varied. Cities vary greatly from rural areas, regional variations are huge……many of her ‘stereotypes” seem to be based on limited travel. I grew up in a small town in Kansas. Lived in St Louis, MO, for the past 50 years (I’m 73), worked college summers in mountains of Colorado. My brother lived in Biloxi, Mississippi while in the Air Force---that was drastically different from anywhere else I’d spent time. NYC, Washington DC, LA have horrendously rude drivers, while most of the Midwest are very courteous
@ I learned in college (1973) that different is just different. Doesn’t need to be good different or bad different, just different. It was an excellent lesson and one can appreciate and enjoy the differences without necessarily wanting to embrace that difference or criticize it. I went to Spain for a class one term in college. Franco was still in power. Cultural differences were many. Lots of them fascinated me a few repelled me, but it literally made me appreciate that the differences don’t’ have to be wrong or right--they csn just be differences.
Once your basic dog was granted "Emotional Supporter" status you started to see more dogs everywhere. Now they're in the grocery stores and restaurants and here in Austin there are a couple places that specifically cater to dogs, lookin' at you Yard Bar.
it's actually not legal to bring your pet into a restaurant for health reasons unless it is a certified service animal but there are places with outdoor seating that allow them outside
Every time I've had a flat tire, someone has arrived within the minute, changed my tire and not accepted a tip or anything. It wasn't a tip, I was just grateful. One time I did have baseball tickets and I was able to convince them to take the.. I love that about my Texas.
She's right about the houses. I grew up in a large house. When I went to Nottingham for the first time, I was struck by how small and simple ift was, but not in a bad way. I just knew I had to shop for groceries more often 😅 squeeze around the kitchen, etc.
Lewis ... your videos are great. You have a very upbeat personality and fun sense of humor. You're up to 245 k viewers and climbing .. Congrats and thanks for the pleasant experience you provide.
I felt like Germany was more dog friendly. There u.s. isn't so dog friendly with bringing them in stores or shops. But legally every store, restaurant, grocery has to let service dogs in. More people are pretending to have service dogs. Which is sad for the people that need them. There is lots of shops that will have a water bowl outside, for dogs. But they are not welcome inside. I wish places welcomed well behaved, and kind dogs in places. Because my dogs love the attention from strangers. And it makes someone else's day. Only place I know are okay with dogs is conduction/home improvement stores and pet stores.
So the deal is that if a person is making low wages and they serve you, a tip is expected. If a friend gives you a ride or helps you, we try to pay for their gas, etc
When I was younger, I used to pull trucks out of the ditch where I lived. Winter time northern NY. They were from Texas. A construction company. They would toss me a twenty every time. I could not charge them. Just out of kindness and NY law. Also where I work now they have a doggie menu.
I'm American and I've never returned food or complained. It's a personal thing, not an American thing. You really only tip people in the service industry. You would never need to or be expected to tip someone giving you directions or helping carrying groceries. We're just nice like that :)❤
She has only been to America a couple of times and most of those videos were about her trying American food. She should be giving info on Ireland instead of America.
-Not to be cynical, but this American thinks that we sometimes over-celebrate things, especially when it's something petty or silly. -I love animals, but unless it's a true "service" animal, it doesn't belong in a grocery store or a restaurant for sanitation reasons. Also, if it doesn't fit under the seat in front of you, then it needs to ride in the cargo hold of the airplane. (Don't worry! It's pressurized and heated for animals.) On the other hand, if you want to take it into the pet store or to your kid's little league baseball game, go for it!
How cool would it be if there was a UA-cam channel where let’s say a Britt and American switch houses for like a week or two. Or any two cultures and each has to figure out how shit works where to eat lol would be hilarious the video chats going back and forth
Isn't there a movie with Jack Black like this? It's been a while, but it was good from what I remember. I remember thinking how awesome that would be to do that!
You should react to DCI (Drum Corps International), it’s a little niche, but I think it’s great and American (I suggest Blucoats’ 2024 “Change Is Everything”. If not then do entertainment in America
I wouldn’t call it demanding. It’s more not being taken advantage of. The tip thing-that is more recognition of the time and trouble someone went to on your behalf. Example: I had a flat tire at a big gas station. I had tools, plenty of air pumps, etc. a very nice man asked to help me while I was in the middle of taking off the lug nuts. He said, I’m already a mess from yard work and this is going to get you all dirty. I thanked him and offered to buy his soda at least. It was just a small appreciation for him helping me out. Size of houses. We have lots of space! Generally speaking. Unless you completely can’t afford it or are somewhere that there is no space, why would you choose to live attached to someone else!? I don’t want to see my neighbors or hear them. lol 😂
Pup cups. It's mostly the coffee shops - a small cup of whipped cream. No average person here expects or will take a tip for helping out or being kind. You tip service people like waiters, bar tenders, barbers, etc. She still thinks she knows more than she does. There are vegetarian restaurants, but hey - we like our meat! Most places, you can get salad or tofu if you must. We celebrate seasons and holidays!
New Year's Eve there are specialty cakes, observations makers,.tiaras,.hats, boas, fancy dinners. New Year's Day a holiday meal is prepared. Valentine's Day!!..Heart's and cut out snowflakes, candy to pass out in class wrappers in a Valentine's day theme, Valentine's day cards for the class and so much more. St Patricks Day!..everyone is Irish you wear green, headbands with shamrocks on springs. Martin Luther King Day is a day of paying it forward, donating time. Easter! New outfits, candy you wouldn't believe and Easter dinner!!! What a spread! The giving of plants, tulips, lilacs. Mother's Day, Memorial day,.4th of July, Labor day (for workers not a political party) Halloween,. Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are busy, putting up decor, taking down decor, replacing it with new decor. It's ever changing
Being a country of immigrants means remembering how our family was treated when they first came. I heard stories from grandparents about how their grandparents were treated when they came from Ireland. It reminds me to be kind.
Actually Not True ...pets are not allowed everywhere in the states. The only pets that are allowed in most public places, (restaurants, shops, etc) are guide dogs for the blind or a place getting raided by drug task force with drug sniffing dogs! Altho I've heard about this new craze of "emotional support" pets, not sure if they are a legal exception or not, nor do I know anyone who uses that gimmick. In public you typically spot pets with their owners, on walks or at a "pet friendly" park, with laws about cleaning up their messes. "Pup cups" mainly for ice cream, you can get only in the drive thru or at a walk up window ...you cannot actually take your pet inside to get it. During my visits to the UK however, pets seem far more welcome in public places there, such as the pubs, with ready dog treats/bowls for them even.
Pup cups are a small cup filled with whipped.cream. after your second drive thru pup cup pick up with your coffee...they know where they are and what's coming! Most dunkin donut drive thru's will give you a plain munchkin (donut whole) for your pooch
I've never once felt anything but pride when I've seen someone achieve.
In America they don't expect a tip for helping you out. Only if the person is a service worker. I don't know what she's on about
She's a perpetual whiner. Damned near every video she puts out is an endless stream of bitching about America. I don't want her coming back.
This is true
She is an idiot
I can't stand her.
Yes! That one really pissed me off because it’s SO untrue! Americans (and Australians!) go out of their way to help others and would never think of taking a tip!

People aren’t nice in an attempt to get a tip. We are just trying to help - that whole Golden Rule thing is drilled into us from birth.
LOL no tipped workers offer hospitality because they work for tips get real
🎯🎯🎯 amen to that 🙌🙏😂
A pup cup is a small cup with whipped cream in it. If the drive thru doesn't have that they always give a dog biscuit.

It's not just about whether or not places accept dogs/pets. It's about service dogs being completely different from regular dogs/pets.
There are also people allergic to dogs.
❤❤❤😂😂Love you Lewis! You always make me laugh with your Spot On observations. Come to Dallas.
thank you for supporting ❤
Physically disabled people with service animals cannot be declined service, so service animals are allowed in restaurants and stores, however, most people will put down a hard line when people bring in dogs in purses or your non-service pet. It also depends on what state and city within that state that has cafes that cater to animals. I've lived my entire life in Massachusetts and I haven't seen one cat cafe or dog cafe.
The sizes of houses depends a lot on where you live. If you live in the city, don't expect much. If you live out in the county, then you have much more to work with and it's cheaper!
She has the dog thing backwards, Service dogs cannot be prohibited anywhere,
Yes, no service animal of any kind can be banned, not just dogs, but any establishment is allowed to ban typical pets. If you are caught calling your PET a SERVICE ANIMAL in order to be let in a shop or restaurant, there can be a fine in some places
In Boston Massachusetts they actually have a doggy bus that will come into the city and pick up your dogs and take them to doggy daycare and bring them back at the end of the day…
In America, we have outdoor bars with basically dog parks built-in
Yeah, as an American, I have never encountered anyone who helps somebody and expects a tip.
They used to be.Love watching your videos Lewis,I also watch Diane and Adam’s also.Lewis,You always bring a smile to my face.Thank You😊
American here and I love your videos!
Biloxi here.. curious- drastically good or bad?
Pup cups… ice cream in a small cup with a doggie bone on top. Usually free for your pup if you bring them there.
pup cups are given to dogs in your car mostly fast food drive thrus
Yes. A little treat cup or dog cookie for free.
The Fat Electrician has done an excellent video on Spirit Halloween. You have GOT to react to that!
Pub cups where I'm from are typically a small cup of either ice cream or Frozen Custard with a small dog treat placed in the middle of the desert.
it's actually not legal to bring your pet into a restaurant for health reasons unless it is a certified service animal but there are places with outdoor seating that allow them outside
I love going to thrift stores for Halloween costumes. We like to make/alter original pieces. It’s fun and unique.
Even before pup cups were a "thing," my bank's drive through window had dog treats.
Lewis ... your videos are great.
Technically, not everything is for sale. and not everyone expects tips.
Yes, we are consumers of capitalism in the states... just be nice about it. I love both of you, it's cool watching you watch her.
When I was younger, I used to pull trucks out of the ditch where I lived. Winter time northern NY. They were from Texas. A construction company. They would toss me a twenty every time. I could not charge them. Just out of kindness and NY law. Also where I work now they have a doggie menu.
A pup cup is just a little cup of whip cream
A pup cup is a squirt of cool whip drive through sometimes give your pets them, I give my cat a dollop when I feed her
I'm American and I've never returned food or complained. It's a personal thing, not an American thing. You really only tip people in the service industry. You would never need to or be expected to tip someone giving you directions or helping carrying groceries. We're just nice like that :)❤
If you have a dog with you in a drive-thru restaurant will offer dogs a free cup of ice cream for the dog.
No everyone is not selling everything...but there are a lot of things sold
America loves y'all! 🤙🤙
Gotta pass again on her incorrect content.
She definitely gets some things wrong. We aren't all going around with our hands out for a tip or payment for something.
She has only been to America a couple of times and most of those videos were about her trying American food. She should be giving info on Ireland instead of America.
U.S. pets are our companions. We treat them like they're our children. And when they pass away we grieve as if we lost a child.
Yeah, sometimes that hype is also sarcasm, especially if it is coming from Gen X🤣🤣
New years, valentines, st Patrick, easter, Cinco, summer, independence day, labor day , Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas
My dogs love getting a pup cup
Love you Lewis can’t wait for you to come to America we welcome you with open arms, home and hearts
We used to throw Halloween theme parties every year.
We got tired of the clean up afterward.
Enjoyable videos that you show to us. Thank you Lewis!
Our milk choices are indeed great, but I have yet to see Goat milk on the Starbucks menu. 😂
Pup cup=at most coffee shops, i.e. Starbucks, has small cups of whipped creme for your pets.
I don’t want to see my neighbors or hear them. lol 😂
We support who we love, L3❤❤❤❤
What's the theme at the beginning of the year?Ah, new years day itself.Plus lots of American football
I LOVE my pets very, very much!! I have a dog, a cat, a duck and a horse.
When we have nothing going on we just have a "good times" festivals.
Pup cup is a cup of cream
