She got her break on his show. Porter wasn't happy when she decided to leave the show. Dolly's version is much more personal.
Yes this cover is awesome but i recommend you to listen to Eriks first cover on the Chanel, the cover of Black Sabbaths Headless cross, he was in the middle of his cancer treatment when he did it. I promise that you won't be disappointed.

You learn a lot of things on UA-cam. Yeppers. Dolly wrote this song and was the first to record it. Her version is all Dolly. Whitney's cover she recoeded for the movie the Bodyguard. Erik sang this similiar to Whitney cover. Erik was amazing❤❤❤❤
