While using Linux, you may encounter the error, “#permission denied”. This error is encountered when the user does not have the privileges to make edits to a file. ... permissions define if the user can read, write, or execute the file. They can be represented using symbolic or octal numbers.
How to fixt Permission denied (publickey,password)
Change your root passworod
if not working than
settign sshd_config
sudo vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config
press insert insert
PermitRootlogin yes
press escap & :x Enter
sudo systemctl reload sshd
OR
1.First Checking have Install SSH
2.Not Install SSH than Installed it's
3.SSH Restart
4.SSH Enable.
5.Checking SSH Status .
6. Must Be Active (Status Running)
error: Permission denied
Change Your User go to Root User:-
$sudo -i
Install SSH :-
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ssh
systemctl restart ssh.service
systemctl enable ssh.service
systemctl status ssh.service
#denied publickey password
#permission denied please try again
#sshpermission denied

thanks man. been checking 10 "guides" on how to set up the ssh. Not even one tutorial mentioned that you should not have "#" for the PermitRootLogin. Also all of the tutorials fail to mention that you can edit the config file by going to the ssh folder location, open the folder as root, and simply edit the config file with text editor.

Hi, I just modified from my Virtual Ubuntu the sshd_config file by adding "PermitRootLogin Yes", "AllowUsers ismaelsanchez"; I have restarted the ssh but the root is not able to get access by using ssh. Also, if I perform this action in my Windows cmd as "ssh root@xx.xx.xx.xx" it is mentioning "ssh: connect to host xx.xx.xx.xx port 22: Connection timed out". I do not understand what else to review. @@SilentSolution okay on my other terminal i typed the following"iproxy 2222 44" to connect to my ipad on ssh and on my other terminal windows i typed the following"sudo -i" and after that it says "root@name-HP-15-Notebook-PC:~# " then i typed in the following in the command line "ssh root@127.0.01 -p 2222" and once i press enter it says "ssh_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer" any solution?
