15:25 So maybe it's the spirits of the fallen deer that are ridden into battle summoned again to defend their home or maybe to honor the dead war deer that supported them.
My response to the final survey question was a new game idea. OPR: Horde or something. Essentially Quest/ Star Quest but scaled up to full army size. With inspiration from Poorhammer’s 40K Horde Mode, of course.
That must be it. The only wendigo I remember is from Marvel Comics and the move Ravenous, neither of which look anything like that. That makes a lot more sense.
I actually like the treefolks wearing the skulls of animals - Mother Nature, red in tooth and claw. But the dwarf mining titan - we all know what song accompanies i in battle... Brothers of the mine rejoice! (Diggy Diggy Hole.)
@@Good.Nuff.Gaming Have you heard the Clamavi de Profundus rendition? There are two version - a short version they sang as an April Fools joke - and a full version when the response to the joke was 'More! Sing the full version!' So, Heigh Ho! Heigh Ho! they went...
So i like the rules, and I've been a patreon supporter since the beginning, but the lore is uninteresting, and the models are not often Grim Dark. I'm extremely disappointed OPR despite its origin, and despite its moniker have gone in a very Saturday morning childrens cartoon aesthetic, a missed opportunity as GW positions itself for the politically correct mainstream. I see more misses than hits as they get deeper into their releases. My opinion, but it's not sucking me in.
Fair points. I also found after reading the Grimdark Worldbook that the lore wasn't as gritty as I had hoped. I hear many other player say they are going to use the rules of OPR and the older lore of 40k.

The other comments are right, it's a wendigo (Google image it), but the OPR wendigo is decidedly...cuter.

I'll have to check that out. I've never heard of that.

It came out of Beta about 4 months ago. It’s pretty fun and I believe it could be easily converted to OPR rules, though I haven’t tried.
I think the tree guys were going for the wendego feel:)

No cloak on the Jackal Infiltrator? Sounds like someone watched the Incredibles and understands the flaws of capes especially in a sci Fi world.
Well, I mean other than that of course.

That or "Hi ho, hi ho"

OPR didn't do it for me, for many of the reasons you mentioned and a few of my own. Stationforge is killing it though.
From what I've seen of them, they have some really nice designs.
Regarding Faction books, already confirmed for Future as well, starting with Eternal Dynasty somewhere around Q2/3
Makes sense they will start with their unique factions before moving on to the port-overs from 40k
@Good.Nuff.Gaming Honestly I'm just buying all the Future faction books regardless lol
That frog is nasty looking. 😆😆
The slimy drool really sells it.
I think the modellers are following the stl trend toward wendigo-vibe tree-folk models. Others have done it better, I too am unimpressed.
The wendigo look could have worked, but they made it a bit too cartoony.
