My advice to newcomers: practice making several objects describing things you already know. And use the "." notation to look inside. It's fun and will ingrain the syntax into your muscle memory.
Hi, thanks to the creator of these videos. I have been searching and watching all sorts of web coding tutorials; by far, this is the real helpful one. The instructor knows where to starts and how to lay it out in a way that it seems he knows where are the areas that make learning online easier. I am so surprised why other instructors do not hit the core of issues and confusions raised from most of the students. To sum it up- he knows what it takes to guide the students through. Great job!
18:15 That!! This functionality seems so plain and obvious, but I remember how much I researched to understand the difference of those additional parenthesis. All I would've needed was 2 mins of this video. Thx Brad! What other teachers deem as self-explanatory you still explain and that's one of the maaaaany things that make your teaching outstanding.
Your teaching method is so simple and to the point. I never get bore watching your videos . Thank you for making this JavaScript series. You are the best
Programming was never easy for me even during my bachelors I struggled learning it alot. But your just 3 videos made concepts so much clear. Your teaching way is really nice. Thank you very much!!
The hardest part for me is to know/ learn all the existing and available methods your browser can use. In your last exercice, you presented the addEventListener method for instance. It's super useful but it's suggested nowhere when typing. If feels a bit like having a nail in front of you but you've never heard about hammers, so you're kindda stuck. Anyway, your lessons are a treat, thank you
Every practice I do with JS, I always do a "meow" or something with cats. It was very amusing that you also did so in this video. Love these videos -- you explain everything really well. I've been trying to teach myself for the past few weeks, so I've come across quite a few. Nice job!
all other Javascript courses try to teach you ---- 2 + 2 = 4 then want you to complete a exercise that says 4a + 6b = fish...... then you are like WTF!!!!!!!! your teaching is quite amazing and very easy to follow.
hahaha yeah. I just bought his course on Udemy seeing how easily I clicked with the way he teaches. Its so amazing, I wish I had teachers who explained things like this to me back in my study days.
Where have you been Brad, when I started dev adventure?! I've lost almost 2 years, 'cause none was able to explain this SIMPLE things as you do ... anyway: thanks a lot for this idea of 10 Days of JS :)
Agreed with your second statement! It's tough to find an understandable teacher in programming. The ones i've come across are either too basic(not practical) or they assume you already know things.
Thank you Brad. I love your Tutorials, you'r explaining is very smooth. I really need some Tutorials for Woocommerce and React js and laravel. please meke theme
Doesn’t get any better than this video if you wish to learn objects. Why do people complicate it so much ? Everyone should watch this video to understand simplicity explained so well
It would be great, if you add a new playlist about JavaScript Objects entirely, because it's a big topic with many difficulties and needs your skills of explanation ;)
LWC! i'm learning how to code and I was wondering if you or someone in the comments section can help me work something out... if I create a html form for a user, how does the users data create a new instance of a JavaScript object using Object Oriented Programming... using console.log() will allow you to test sample data on the console, but if a user inputs information into a form... does that data create a new object then send that data to the constructor???? i'm not really sure how that works and i'd like to know what your thoughts are on that thanks
I just want to know that exactly how much js should i know which I can use while developing UI of a website not for backend..actually m a php developer(fresher) till now i rarely use js. Sometimes I only need js to create some popups. And if there is a need to add some animations on websites i use bootstrap or some jquery plugins. M trying to learn javascript from past 3 months but never understand where n how to apply my skills. M really confused about javascript. Sorry for my bad English.😔
For basic UI / front-end tasks you can use Bootstrap without needing to write much of your own JS code. However, when you need to do something that Bootstrap doesn't include then it's nice to be able to code your own solution. We'll be learning about UI / front-end JavaScript in Day #10 which might be helpful for you. Before then, we're just learning the basic concepts and syntax of the language so that when Day #10 comes we genuinely understand the code that we're typing instead of just copying what we see in a guide.
Please add lots of exercises in your new course ! took tons of Udemy courses , none of them are like yours! . so please small exercises after a section will be great!
Day 4 will be available after about 8 hours from now! he upload 1 video daily at the same time, check the time of the video upload! he upload 1 video daily.

Hey Brad, you do a lot telling us and very little showing us "How to access any of those properties. I tried typing 'cat.name()' and nothing happened" and when I go into the inspect and console, there is an error message, "this is not a function". So you do not show us how to access any of those properties. You tell us, but then you don't show us how. Can you please show us what happens when you type "cat.name()". There is no point is demonstrating something that does not work or has no meaning. Please explain to us how to access those properties, then you go on and show us how to nest more objects and properties, 'cat.foods.favourite()' doesn't mean anything if you don't show us what it is supposed to do. Please reply. Thanks. 😀
Hi, cat.name is a property and not a function, so you don't need the parentheses after it to call it. You can do anything you want with the value, for example, you could show it in a popup alert(cat.name) or change the tab title bar of the web page document.title = cat.name or log it to the browser's console console.log(cat.name). In days 4 through 10 of this series we'll see more practical examples how/where you'd actually use values.

Hey why u didn't use function key word while creating meow() in object?
He says it in the video - inside an object, the keyword (function) is not used. It's just the syntax of the language.
