A man of many words that John. Verbose, loquacious. Thank you for producing your beautiful whisky! Difficult to get in central Illinois but worth the search always.
John was very friendly on my Barley to Bottle Tour last week at that very location - I saw the Local Barley malt in the loft - you could clearly see the difference with the Loriet barley on the current malt floor
My first Springbank was a sample of their 9 year LB about 5 years ago. It was special and started my journey with SB. Finally picked up a few of their 10 year LB about a year ago. Best wishes on your next 1,000 vids!
Ralfy. I also like trance music. You hit the point. Congratulations for your 1000th videos. There is so much to say to you... But one comes to mind right now: THANK YOU! ❤
I was here twice. During the HongKong handover July 1997 and in 2008. Despite not so talkative John "Verstappen" here, other staff at the Longrow and the shop in town will give you the full Springbank experience 😊
I speak to people about wiskys novices and they are relatively oblivious about the high standards and quality of springbank. The only springbank i bother with is longrow heavily peated non age statement because its the only one available affordable and really love it . The ones above it are just out of reach for me when I'm so good with it. value for money is a big part of what makes a good malt for me .
Yeah I'm not sure why that one is usually overlooked. Maybe the less knowledge don't realise it is a Springbank because it's not called 'Heavily Peated Springbank' a la Benromach's branding.
Love the thought of Ralfy relaxing to Trance Music with a nice Czech beer at the end of a whisky review! My question to Springbank relates to the size difference between the normal barley and local barley. John mentioned the local barley maltings cause some difficulty because it is a smaller grain, a feed grain. How much smaller is that grain from a normal barley grain for malting? Can you provide an analogous comparison?
Hi Ralfy: Great job.. I had a question . Which Bruichladdich bottle has it used local barley? Is it the Isley? Is the the organic? Any help would be appreciated Thanks John
Thankfully John's skill resides in his malting as opposed to being in front of the camera. Either way, I am grateful to people like John for what they do.
Trance music....Ralfy you continue to surprise me my friend , i didnt think you would be a fan of electronic music . Are you into Boards Of Canada, they are from your neck of the woods? Some underappreciated electronic artists to check out - Topdown Dialectic, wzrdryAV ,Pontiac Streator, Bakground, Reinartz, Xenia Reaper, Deepchord / Rod Modell, Schulz Audio, Purelink, Pataphysical, DJ Javascript, Etch, Concave Reflection, Big Zen, Reptant, NVREC -russian label, 1991.
Gotta love ralfy for not taking johns disinterest personally ^^
What an awful interview 😂
It’s like. I do my job and go home. The interest around me isn’t my cup of tea.
@@tweezerjam I thought it was great.
Hi John, thanks for talking with our Ralfy! You’re a whisky celebrity by association now.
Not sure John wanted to be interviewed. 😂 Credit for persevering Ralfy!
A man of few words 🤣
I think he was just a bit nervous.
We all can be grateful that he is a doer, not a talker otherwise our glasses would be empty.
Just your normal chap not used to the camera and such. I bet you the majority here would be just the same if not having a wee experience.

A good conversation! Thanks John and Ralfy

apart from that: watching Ralfy, you gotta appreciate what comes, anyway! 😅

Ralfy was just talking to himself 😂
Good for you for focusing on the people making Springbank happen. They are to be celebrated!
i can now see why springbank is so singularly superior. those people are rock solid human beings. how could they fail??????

Fun fact question- do you know what he does for a living?
@@tweezerjam yeah he is an undertaker mate
@@JonnyParker- bizarre innit?
@@JonnyParker- arrgh he mentions it in the next video (4/5) 😂its not an obscure fact anymore
Nice one John👍
That face 😂 John, you legend!
Thought it was a perfectly good interview. Very interesting! Don't know what everyone's on about. Maybe I'm a man of few words myself or something.
Righty-oh
Wow brain explosion 💥💥💥 4:27
❤🎉❤
Yay, czech beer!
Was kind of hoping your 1,000 review would be of you getting your liver scanned to see just what the 999 previous reviews did to it 😂.
🙄
Ralfy G+ T, trance music and EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEs haha ;-)
Jesus.... He's a barrel of laughs.
1,000 reviews doesn’t mean 1,000 tastings!
Brilliant 😊😂!!!
Ralfy meant uninterested, not disinterested.
Hah John!
Really 1.000? Incredible, amazing!!!
