    I am in love with your saxophone it is almost as beautiful as my Selmer Mark VI, congratulations you have a wonderful sound and good swing, but if I may give you some advice, you play the saxophone with the little finger of your left hand too far from the keys of G#, C#, B and Bb, you do it with all but the little finger is very important, you must have your fingers as close as possible to the keys, it is something that will bring you more speed.

      Thanks Nando! I do this on purpose in these videos to help demonstrate what fingers I’m using. I used to load up graphics to do this but it took hours and hours! But you’re right, one should keep their fingers close to the keys when playing.

    Well Paul, you finally got me to sign up for Premium. And this was after a year on the web watching videos from ChadLB, Jay Metcalf (Bettersax), Jamie Anderson (from Oz). Your set-up suits me down to a tee with the 3 versions of each tune. I'm in the Intermediate Phase so plenty to go at. Looking forward to following your weekly videos (Sunday releases?)

      Hi Mike, great to have you onboard! Those guys are great! Any questions about the content feel free to get in touch. New lessons each week! (Jamie is a fellow Brit like myself, was just chatting with him yesterday in fact!)

    Hey Paul, nice work here ! I would like to see more of the videos where you detail which finger goes on which key, just like you did on Fly me to the moon or Autumn Leaves. I guess it’s more work but worth it, it helps great beginners ! Cheers.

      Thanks Mathis, yeah I’m researching ways to get those back in that doesn’t take hours and hours! I think there will be a way with use of an EWI.

    Paul in the intermediate solo you combine two pentatonic scales. Looking at the notes combined, the alto notes appear to be the E major scale, and the tenor the A major scale. If we used those scales for the solo, would that work?

    • @OnlineSaxAcademy
      @OnlineSaxAcademy  2 роки тому

      Yep that’s it!

      @@OnlineSaxAcademy I assume therefore that F# (alto) and B (tenor) should be the root notes.

      Yep that’s right!
