Because men don't know how to just take a compliment when it comes from a woman specifically. You guys don't want to be complimented, you want to feel validated by women specifically. You guys don't actually care about being complimented by other men or people in general, you guys want to be complimented by women. And then when a woman compliments them, they usually take it as her flirting, which then makes women stop complimenting men. But what's nicer, given the context, is that he at least tried to keep her happy by complimenting her work that she made special for him. It's also later shown when he and the girl's sister is destroying the date area his mother built for him and the sister that he cared about the brooch.

I’m so glad this movie is getting attention! It has been my favorite movie ever since I was a child! The idea that “Everyone deserves to be loved” was so touching to me. I was always sad that no one knew what movie I was talking about when I told them my favorite movie was “Strange Magic”, so seeing all these hilarious comments are so heartwarming. Especially the “So this is what they mean by ‘I can fix him.’” I never thought of it that way 😂❤
I notice some tropes that's like every time done right. Like a grown up "tough guy" looking after an orphaned girl (see: Walking Dead game, Witcher, The Last of Us, Dishonored, Les Miserables, Leon the Professional, Adventure Time...) and this guy reminds me Ice King.

It always reminds me of my past relationship. I wasn't necessarily as hard or jaded but I was a bit distrusting and cynical - she was the complete opposite. I completely appreciated every moment I spent with her until she had to go away. I won't say that I'm entirely as optimistic or sincere as she is but I'm definitely a far cry from who I was before and it's all thanks to her. Wherever she is, I wish her well.

Imagine being so used to problems that the moment you catch anything positive it hurts just to attempt at being open to it. Been going through that for years. Not to imply i want to be miserable but people can be given such a hard time that they question any moment of genuine kindness as if theres a potential motive. Then after leadning the feelin is real with the person acting nice you feel compelled to keep whatever baggage you have to yourself like trying to keep someone innocent healthy and your pain to you is a disease you co exist with. Not everyone is the type to ask for help when something is wrong afterall, not because of pride but because theyre too sick minded to care for help as if theyre waiting for their hour glass to be done with.
I love the bog king! Loved the angle the movie took with the heroine and villain falling in love. Would've been a stronger movie without the jukebox music. XD

I literally went to watch the ENTIRE MOVIE after I saw this short and good lord... It looks INCREDIBLE but you just have to get through it coz the WHOLE MOVIE is a hell of a musical with modern songs, some originals on the mix but like, not a minute goes without singing. I must say tho, the ending was really cute!! Heavy Beauty and the Beast inspo here

Ultimately, to want it to be loved unconditionally by a romantic partner is to selfishly want another person to never have conditions about how you can or can’t treat them, it’s to want to forbid them from having any emotional response other than what you want from them, it aims to indefinitely obligate them to love you and fulfil your needs even at the sacrifice of their own and without any expectation for reciprocity.
Unconditional love is inherently one sided, because for someone’s love to ACTUALLY be unconditional, then they couldn’t even have a “condition” like receiving unconditional love from you in return for theirs.
No healthy, long lasting romantic relationship involves unconditional love. To love someone is a choice, not an obligation. It’s genuinely more fulfilling to have someone wilfully choose to love you than to take that choice away and permanently obligating them to love you unconditionally.
The only healthy form of unconditional love that exists is between a parent and their child, parents are obligated to love their children and children are entitled to receive the love and protection of their parents. People who haven’t receive this from their parents growing up need to process that trauma (ideally through professional therapy) and heal from it, they should never look for romantic partners to love them unconditionally, a lover is not a parent, they cannot fill that void and it’s the foundations for a toxic (if not an outright abusive) relationship to ever expect that from a romantic partner.

It always reminds me of my past relationship. I wasn't necessarily as hard or jaded but I was a bit distrusting and cynical - she was the complete opposite. I completely appreciated every moment I spent with her until she had to go away. I won't say that I'm entirely as optimistic or sincere as she is but I'm definitely a far cry from who I was before and it's all thanks to her. Wherever she is, I wish her well.

Imagine being so used to problems that the moment you catch anything positive it hurts just to attempt at being open to it. Been going through that for years. Not to imply i want to be miserable but people can be given such a hard time that they question any moment of genuine kindness as if theres a potential motive. Then after leadning the feelin is real with the person acting nice you feel compelled to keep whatever baggage you have to yourself like trying to keep someone innocent healthy and your pain to you is a disease you co exist with. Not everyone is the type to ask for help when something is wrong afterall, not because of pride but because theyre too sick minded to care for help as if theyre waiting for their hour glass to be done with.
I love the bog king! Loved the angle the movie took with the heroine and villain falling in love. Would've been a stronger movie without the jukebox music. XD

This is a great scene. Everyone has a rough chapter in their life and it's important that we don't pass judgement on someone's experience before we get to know them.

I literally went to watch the ENTIRE MOVIE after I saw this short and good lord... It looks INCREDIBLE but you just have to get through it coz the WHOLE MOVIE is a hell of a musical with modern songs, some originals on the mix but like, not a minute goes without singing. I must say tho, the ending was really cute!! Heavy Beauty and the Beast inspo here
