Thank you for the great advice! Studying on my own for the A+ right now and I bought Mike Meyers book, besides watching some of his videos here on UA-cam, and since I need something VERY budget friendly, I have decided to go with Mike Meyers... I also enjoy his style of teaching and I am looking to learn, besides obviously passing the test!! I also would like to recommend Professor Messer and his course for both Core 1 and 2, and they are completely free if taken online!!
@@ITCareerGuide thank you so much!! Really appreciate it. I subscribed to your channel and I’m looking forward to watching more of your great content!!
I think Mike Meyers is great overall as he tries to keep things upbeat and fun. Just know the only thing I find an issue is he doesn’t label any of his videos with an objective Number next to them. Only the title which can make it harder to reference. One thing to know as well, Jason Dion follows objectives in a different order. He starts the A+ objectives at 3.1 and bounces around. He explains from the beginning. The objectives labeled by compTIA are only a list and not a special learning order to follow. Jason also states for better learning and understanding he uses a different order. I found that interesting because I’m currently enrolled in an IT school which uses CertMaster as our curriculum and it is very similar to Jason Dions order of objectives for teaching. CompTIAs objective list doesn’t mean it’s the proper order to follow. It just seems that way. I use Mike Meyers Udemy videos as a 2nd/3rd reference if I’m having difficulty with understanding a topic. CertMaster is 90% in-depth reading, 10% video. But it has Multiple Labs, PBQs, and Quizzes for most lessons (overwhelming at times). But for video references on Udemy, I really liked TIA Education for the hands on teaching, Stone River for short and straight to the point, Mike Meyers Total Sem to prevent getting bored, and Jason Dion mainly for his Practice exams. These listed cover the latest exams. 220-1101 and 220-1102. The discounts are active every Week on Udemy. I highly recommend getting a few because they are cheap and provide plenty of knowledge to help pass the exams if used in combination.
I already pass the 1001 or core 1 and now studying for core 2 I used Mike Myers and professor messer on core 1 and I bought the practice test from Mike and after you hit the 80% on thise test you can feel confortable to take the test, great video only one question INE or Cbtnuggets??
Nice work! Personally, I would probably use CBT Nuggets last. But that is my personal opinion. It's not a bad resource at all, but you need to use what works best for you.
Hi Guys, first of all I am new to I.T. so please be patient with me. Okay, I've just started studying with CompTIA IT FUNDAMENTALS (ITF+) and have learned to much from it and I personally find it extremely useful and informative where the kowledge has stuck in my head. A couple of people have also told me to read Mike Meyers ITF+. I started but found it to be a little bit difficult to read. Basically, I really like his terminology and find him to be informative too but the book seems to be going on a litle bit. Also I found it hard to follow the CompTIA exam objectives with Mikes book. Is it just me or do others have the same problem Or am i reading his book wrong? This is "NOT" in anyway an insult to Mr Meyers as the man is extremely smart.
Mike Meyers, Jason Dion, Professor Messer, ... there are quite a few resources. In the end you may need to try and find the one that matches up with your way of learning.
Can you tell which areas of knowledge you are failing or is more the exam nervousness? If you feel it is knowledge, split your studies. Focus on one area where you feel you have the biggest gap and give it 75% of your time. Split the remaining 25% across the rest. You may also "hire" your friends to quiz you. Another thought - forget about a+ for the moment. Go after the Google IT Support Professional certification. It is less complex and in a way easier compared to A+. So, a lot of your studies carry over already. Passing Google would give your more confidence to go after A+. You can find it here through my partner link: bit.ly/2U3fEAV

He can't speak on this because he hasn't used at least one of them. How can you review or compare something you know nothing about. Also given how little details you have about CBT I'd wager he hasn't seen it either.

Has anyone used TotalSem with Mike Myers?
Awesome review. Great content.
Thanks for watching.
Using Udemy for the Mark Meyers courses, didn't get the book. But I bought core 1 and 2 for A+, and then Network+
Did you pass any?
Update?
So i have studied A+ 1002 with Messer, Myers, jason dion and failed it for the 3rd time with 655 score. What do you recommend me to try next?
