There is something about Arma II's shitty graphics, ambient noises, and UI that just makes Dayz work. It may be a buggy and broken mess but its one of those games that that won't be forgotten anytime soon.
These are some of the reasons I still play it in 2019 :) There is something about the mods for Arma 2 that Arma 3 and Standalone or Scum just cannot match. It's the overall sad feeling I think.

Whenever I see one of Frankie's videos, I feel like playing DayZ... Then I remember what it's like to run without any gear for an hour, get lost, not find anything and get shot by bandits or killed by zombies, as always happens to me when I try to play DayZ....
Palm Fields Spawn, Find hatchet, sneak up to a sniper, kill him. Then your geared. If you spawn by Electro on Chernarus, you can get geared with this strategy in minutes
DeOnlyBobblehead If you're question was a serious one, it was a zombie spawning. When they spawn they act as if they have a gun and are putting it away before they actually go and attack anyone. But not sure why it disappeared in an instant tho.
Frankie there are some notorious bandits on DayZ standalone that I think you should take out. KYRSP33DY and his friends have been killing fresh spawns and shooting people on sight. It would be funny if you put them in their place XD
i think hes name was lee and legends and storys goes that he actually survived the shot and hes still out there on namalsk stealing traders and players beans and he has a boat somewhere in the deep seas of namalsk a boat filled with millions of stolen beans

Was wondering if they're filmed in the Arma mission editor. However it's done can't help but wonder if Frankie does all that himself? I imagine there's a few modders working with him to create those scenarios but maybe not... Impressive either way. Past rumor says he knows a bit about th technical side but the way those sequences flow, so cinematic. He's obviously a brilliant gamer but it's that creative flair that makes it really watchable, as something in it's own right... Turning a pretty clunky old mil-sim into something that flows and has real depth. Fellow's got a theatrical mind. Watching these, all that content you don;t see in the game itself... it's like he's modded the mod into a 'artistic cinema engine'. Wonder if that's one reason he's not begun a standalone series - don't think he'd have that creative freedom in the standalone... Just stuck with the in-game footage and that's it. That could easily feel like a bit of a backward step creatively speaking, for him.

The building he is in during 10:22 looks EXACTLY like a building from COD4. It's from the multi-player map in Chernobyl where there is a building on either side and a gold statue in the middle.
It's actually some kind of graphical glitch with the game engine, it's happened in other games too. But fuck it... we'll call it Slenderman anyways. :3

This is the reason I started playing day z and I watch this series all the time because every time I watch it makes me happy and this is my favorite play through it brings back old memories of good times this has had a major affect on me because my parents went through a separation and when that was happening I would watch this and even now with Arma 3 it still puts a smile on face and all I have to say is thank you Frankie thank you for the laughs and the good memories.

Gerardo Ocasio Steam owns it now and they do not support Dayz Commander so it is pretty much impossible to find a server anymore.
You can still play some games on it, like rp games! :D such as ILG!

This is the reason I started playing day z and I watch this series all the time because every time I watch it makes me happy and this is my favorite play through it brings back old memories of good times this has had a major affect on me because my parents went through a separation and when that was happening I would watch this and even now with Arma 3 it still puts a smile on face and all I have to say is thank you Frankie thank you for the laughs and the good memories.

The end of an era, on to the next in Arma 3. Still hard to believe this was the first UA-cam i consistently watched. I remember seeing a new video pop up after school in like the 5th and 6th grade and being so excited and wanting a gaming pc so badly. I watched his videos clear up until he took his still running hiatus. What I would give to be a kid again.
