My gratitude for the sermon on unconditional happiness that I attended today. It was truly eye-opening and helped me understand how our Chitta plays a crucial role in our pursuit of true happiness. With all the commitments i have i cannot be a monk but i choose the noble path. Any sermons as to how to live in the noble path for people in lay life ?
Swamin whansa as you have said very correctly that it all boils down to whether your mind is happy or not. No amount of material possessions, number of friends or whether you had everything you wanted yet if there was no happiness what good has it done if despite all these I was unhappy.? So Jesus says in the Bible "what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and suffers the loss of his soul"? And again He says "a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions"
thank you very much I have a question is vexation a need or necessity maybe i want because i fall into vexation? if I eradicate vexation I eliminate need and necessity ? Sadhu sadhu sadhu 🙏🙏🙏
Super Artificial Intelligence robots will perceive sensations without any desire for those experiences. so, can we say that in the future, such super AI robots will be happy, similar to a person who has achieved nirvana? :)
The definition of intelligence humans have is merely a mirror of our thinking and reasoning capacity . The" mind "or "life" is a process which is way more than that. The main part of mind process is the "ability to arise and pass away" along with matter. This manifests as life and death . Until a machine aquires the ability to self repliacte it cannot match a mind. The mind is the worlds fastest " processor" defined ad being hundreds of times faster than light. It cannot be replicated. A single organic cell has stored intelligence to combine "food" into body parts , create motion, reproduce etc. That is way more powerful than ai and cannot be replicated in a machi ne. So no a machine cannot experience nibbana since nibbana is the complete cessation of the " mind process". Awareness needs to have a "mind process" with inherent "dukkha"and it should be caused to " cease" which is nibbana. Simply put nibbana is defined as the exeperience of the "cessation of dukkha or suffering" . If there was bo Dukkha , then there wouldnt be a need for nibbana. Follow the lectures on this site and the buddhas noble eight fold path to keep deepening understanding. All the best 🙏. Hope this was not too confusing .
