Great video, hardworking crew and dangerous work. Never been on a fishing trawler but seeing all the hazards using nets would it be possible to rig a large funnel, lower it into the water, turn on the powerful pumps then suck the fish up into the boat?
That's exactly what they were doing! They pulled the nets tight to concentrate the fish at one point. Then they pump out the fish continuing to pull the net tighter until the last few fish, and any too big for the pump, are gathered into the vessel by hand.
