Absolutely astonishing, isn't it? The artistry, the performance, the song itself... the aesthetics are outstanding. I was absolutely stunned the first six or so times I watched this. (I'm WAY past that number now.) Jimin came to kill. I posted this comment elsewhere, but I wanted to put it here, too. Please forgive the copy/paste. This song and this video are masterpieces. Don't forget that Jimin is a bona fide genius. He used to fill in for his math teacher in high school and was first in every class he took. The following things are in this video, and they're all significant. 1) The spiral made by the dancers: the golden spiral (Fibonacci's sequence):Put simply, a golden spiral gets wider (or further from its origin) with every quarter turn it makes. He's all about circles, as shown in the cover art for Face and the words of the poem on his torso (more on that later). 2) "You have to go insane to stay sane": one of Jimin's lines from "On". This video was also choreographed by Sienna Pulau, who choreographed "On" and the 31 dancers are from the Lab. 3) There are 31 dancers. When they lift him at the end - that was a move originally in his song LIE. The lyrics he sings at that moment in the song are: "Caught in a lie / Please find me who was innocent / I can't free myself from these lies / Please bring back my smile" In an interview with a magazine (I don't remember which one because my memory is awful at specifics), Jimin said that in order to be free of the things that haunted him, he had to free himself. No one else could do it for him. So, he reaches to the sky for freedom in both songs as his darkness consumes him. In LIE, he staggers out, looking overwhelmed, and the darkness still stands behind him. "I can't free myself from these lies." But here, Jimin bursts out of the darkness. It falls around him as he stands newly reborn. He finally freed himself. At least. That's how I interpreted it. 😅

That snakey maze was really the symbol for the Golden Ratio..Fibonacci seguence it is a mathematical measure for everything in this world. It seems to correlate as everything that grows expands..then the german poem, which made the germany paper with an article of him. There were so many moves and gestures in this of their other songs its just so interesting with jimin, he makes art and knowledge one but its fun...wait till you see his new teaser for Like Crazy, its going to be epic . Hes coming on the jimmy fallon show thursday and friday and friday he will sing Like Crazy and some say hes going to do a water dance so we will see, ty...you do so well on your reactions i love watching you.. Jimin was addressing his negative self-talk/inner critic, He worries about being "not good enough", and combats his insecurities by being a perfectionist. Doing re-do after re-do etc. And he is sensitive about getting negative feedback, and the haters... He wants to get out of his own way... He talks about this in all his recent interviews. It seems that all of the members were insecure about the first solo work. I hope that Taehyung doesn't drop his album "on top" of Jimin's. So each has the space for people to into their new albums. I'm am impressed by each of them. So different from each other, which makes their 10 years of co-operating, communicating, and collaborating even more amazing. So glad you seemed to have caught a lot of things that some miss and just judge this negatively because it's not the 'usual' Jimin sound. Can't understand if they are genuine Army, yes, sometimes it takes time for the music to sit right if it's a new sound (like J-Hope's More took me some time, wasn't sure I liked it at first but now I love it) but to go and dislike it and be so negative is beyond me. You understood straight away because you thought about it. Some don't go that far. The room is a Panopticon - a circular prison so it's even deeper meaning when you realise everything was chosen for a reason. This is truly performance art alright, and it's amazing. Plus Jimin teaching us appreciation for another culture (like BTS usually do) with the German poem. Amazing, everything just so incredible! 🤯🤯🔥🔥
The swirl is called the Fibonacci sequence. He used some dancers and choreographers from The Lab Creative Arts Studio in California. He also used an American choir for the background vocals. Like Park Jimin this masterpiece honors his Korean side, is international, but honestly it is uniquely wonderfully all him.💜❤🔥💜
My lord, what did he do??? even for us Jimin fans we did NOT expect this at all, I don't believe this is reality, I don't believe that after all these years, this Jimin was under all these layers. I fully believe this will be Jimin's anthem and now, he just let everyone know that he is his own person, he shows us his growth and is ready for all to see, especially for those who have only seen a certain side of him. ..the colors...the symbolisms...the choreography...the lyrics... Absolutely astonishing, isn't it? The artistry, the performance, the song itself... the aesthetics are outstanding. I was absolutely stunned the first six or so times I watched this. (I'm WAY past that number now.) Jimin came to kill.
I posted this comment elsewhere, but I wanted to put it here, too. Please forgive the copy/paste.
This song and this video are masterpieces.
Don't forget that Jimin is a bona fide genius. He used to fill in for his math teacher in high school and was first in every class he took. The following things are in this video, and they're all significant.
1) The spiral made by the dancers: the golden spiral (Fibonacci's sequence):Put simply, a golden spiral gets wider (or further from its origin) with every quarter turn it makes. He's all about circles, as shown in the cover art for Face and the words of the poem on his torso (more on that later).
2) "You have to go insane to stay sane": one of Jimin's lines from "On". This video was also choreographed by Sienna Pulau, who choreographed "On" and the 31 dancers are from the Lab.
3) There are 31 dancers. If you flip that number, you get 13 - Jimin's favorite number and his date of birth.
4) The words on his chest are a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke (translation available through the link)
5) The longer the video goes, the fewer pieces of jewelry and clothing he has - the words are revealed when the shirt comes off because these are feelings he's been covering up until now.
6) When the dancers lift him, it's a call back to the choreography for "Lie". He's finally broken free from the lies that were imprisoning him.

When they lift him at the end - that was a move originally in his song LIE. The lyrics he sings at that moment in the song are:
"Caught in a lie /
Please find me who was innocent /
I can't free myself from these lies /
Please bring back my smile"
In an interview with a magazine (I don't remember which one because my memory is awful at specifics), Jimin said that in order to be free of the things that haunted him, he had to free himself. No one else could do it for him.
So, he reaches to the sky for freedom in both songs as his darkness consumes him. In LIE, he staggers out, looking overwhelmed, and the darkness still stands behind him. "I can't free myself from these lies."
But here, Jimin bursts out of the darkness. It falls around him as he stands newly reborn. He finally freed himself.
At least. That's how I interpreted it. 😅
I agree with you. This was my interpretation from that part of the song/dance too, especially after seeing the MV sketch where Jimin describes the concept.
That snakey maze was really the symbol for the Golden Ratio..Fibonacci seguence it is a mathematical measure for everything in this world. It seems to correlate as everything that grows expands..then the german poem, which made the germany paper with an article of him. There were so many moves and gestures in this of their other songs its just so interesting with jimin, he makes art and knowledge one but its fun...wait till you see his new teaser for Like Crazy, its going to be epic . Hes coming on the jimmy fallon show thursday and friday and friday he will sing Like Crazy and some say hes going to do a water dance so we will see, ty...you do so well on your reactions i love watching you.. And of course hes getting a lot of hate but i think he clearly and concisely let the haters know how much he cares..Jimin is truly a journey into artistry.

Jimin was addressing his negative self-talk/inner critic,
He worries about being "not good enough", and combats his insecurities by being a perfectionist. Doing re-do after re-do etc. And he is sensitive about getting negative feedback, and the haters...
He wants to get out of his own way... He talks about this in all his recent interviews.
It seems that all of the members were insecure about the first solo work.
I hope that Taehyung doesn't drop his album "on top" of Jimin's. So each has the space for people to into their new albums.
I'm am impressed by each of them. So different from each other, which makes their 10 years of co-operating, communicating, and collaborating even more amazing.

Great reaction as always, and thanks for the dance practice too! So glad you seemed to have caught a lot of things that some miss and just judge this negatively because it's not the 'usual' Jimin sound. Can't understand if they are genuine Army, yes, sometimes it takes time for the music to sit right if it's a new sound (like J-Hope's More took me some time, wasn't sure I liked it at first but now I love it) but to go and dislike it and be so negative is beyond me. You understood straight away because you thought about it. Some don't go that far. The room is a Panopticon - a circular prison so it's even deeper meaning when you realise everything was chosen for a reason. This is truly performance art alright, and it's amazing. Plus Jimin teaching us appreciation for another culture (like BTS usually do) with the German poem. Amazing, everything just so incredible! 🤯🤯🔥🔥
The swirl is called the Fibonacci sequence. He used some dancers and choreographers from The Lab Creative Arts Studio in California. He also used an American choir for the background vocals. Like Park Jimin this masterpiece honors his Korean side, is international, but honestly it is uniquely wonderfully all him.💜❤🔥💜

My lord, what did he do??? even for us Jimin fans we did NOT expect this at all, I don't believe this is reality, I don't believe that after all these years, this Jimin was under all these layers. I fully believe this will be Jimin's anthem and now, he just let everyone know that he is his own person, he shows us his growth and is ready for all to see, especially for those who have only seen a certain side of him. ..the colors...the symbolisms...the choreography...the lyrics... The German poem on his chest tat was temporary. Jimin also has a 7 tat bet. his fingers on one hand. He has young forever tat above his elbows and youth behind his ear. I think the dancers in black could represent the doubts, fears and lack of confidence that he suffered at the start. And the autotune voice represents that angry, frustrated inner voice.

I think this is directed inward. He used to be weighed down by trying to be manly enough, good enough, worrying about what others thought and was crazy hard on himself. So happy that he’s at peace and comfortable with who he is. He’s such a beautiful artist. 💜
