Probably the best soloing i have ever heard...and the most exiting soloing ever recorded. I wish he would have kept this style...my god he´s a master.....the feel is amazing
finn André Hovde there are players that hit peaks and then they sort of forget how to repeat that, marty friedman in megadeth was another genious how in soloist form seems to me to be a shadow of his former megadeth self
Simply the greatest rock soloist of my generation. yeah, there is Yngwie and EVH....this guy is on the top of the heap. Feel, raw....and uncompromising. The best guitar player to ever come out of LA in the 80's. IMO
When people look back on the 80s era guitarists, I think Lynch will emerge as the one whose work stands the test of time. He will be the legendary guitarist people talk about. One reason I say this is not only did he do phenomenal work with Dokken and as a solo artist, but he has worked with so many other musicians during his time. Most of his contemporaries have only worked within the confines of a couple bands at best.
Holy shit! The solo in River of Love is pure genius. Lynch was untouchable during this era and I would have put him up against any guitarist on the planet. He is still an unbelievable talent to this day.
I've been a big fan of George Lynch for many years. He's one of the all-time best. His style is original. His solos are hard and melodic. While most guitarist are trying to show you how many notes they can play in 30 seconds or less, George Lynch is making music.
This shirt makes me cry! 20 years I've played, and loved, and seen George perform. I'll never be able to play the way Georges style has touched, shaped, and amazed my musical inner soul. His string attack is one something I can truly say I love.
At this stage of playing/mojo, there are no wrong notes...lynch mob will live in my soul forever...got me back to spiritual/playing again and this video made sure i am going out and getting a practice amp tomorrow as my stack is at the bandhouse... Lynch Mob forever...r.i.p. singer
He is very gifted. Every guitar player at all levels brings something to the studio/stage. But GL...man o man....its an honor to watch him play. Glad I rock n rolled thru the 80's-90's and saw him live a couple of times. His new band Souls of We is awesome! Lynch and London make a great team. Hope they tour again soon.
I literally watched the man shred for nearly 2 hours about 1-2 feet from my face! It was like getting a private concert for me and my buds! My friends and I got the chance to meet him after the show. Truly a most gracious and unpretentious guy. Quite modest and most affable. Needless to say, truly one of THE greatest shows I've ever been to. By one of THE greatest guitarists ever! It still gives me chills thinking back on it! Thanks George!
Saw him live......Sounded GREAT.....and he definately was one of the best of ALL time! I'm 44 and I've seen/heard all the greats and he is one of them!
I've been listening to rock guitarist since the 1960's. George Lynch is without question one of the best ever. George knows how to shred the fretboard, while keeping the solo extremely melodic and in keeping with the flow of the song. So many guys today are just into speed, without any concern of the direction of the song. George doesn't just play guitar, he's a true musician.
You were the guy who really opened my eyes and ears to what the guitar could do George ! You have always been my #1 influence ! Thanks very much for everything !
I think that George Lynch is one of the few guitarists to have a truly original phrasing .... three notes and recognize him ( and killer gear tone....)
Holy Christ, that solo on Dance of the Dogs makes the hair on the back of neck stand up and bow!!!! George is a master and I've always loved his sound and style. Glad I happened onto this vid!
Very under rated Virtuoso ... I learned what a virtuso was after hearing tooth & nail ( when it came out ) ... NO ONE Plays with as much heart & unique style & his tone is awesome. I here he's a nice guy too !!! I want to play on his rig & shake his hand. He make shrapnel virtuosos envy ! Then he became one. I smiled & strted collecting every recording he made ! God Bless you GEORGE !
One of the greatest guitarists ever. His lead is just insane but equally matched with his rhythm. I still remember listening to Mr Scary for the first time and being completely floored.
i remember watching this as VHS cassette back in the 90s. He made some improvisations and looked like he just got out of bed. It was badass none the less. Loved the eastern scales he threw in.
Wow, what can u say. As a very average guitarist who loves 80's rock and George this is staggering.....! Wicked Sensation - keep playing it. Humbled as ever :-)
Most technical and clean playing I have ever seen, Look that only his left hand is more difficoult then Holdsworth' s one, simply amazing! Plus that vibrato is the perfection!
its amazing how lynch can input pretty much every technique seamlessly into his solos evenly without using each technique to much in a bad way. he literaly has the fretboared memorized and know his way around every fret, this is my fav era of his shred style
george lynch is one of my favorite guitarists! i was able to see him years ago when they opened for aerosmith. stuff like this is why i like him. plus he's still jammin!!!
Great guitar player. He has his own style, and I have never met one GOOD guitar player or read about one that said George wasn't good. George even makes playing your guitar high look cool!!
LOL! I watch this a lot too. Funny thing, I went into workout and brought this CD for my training tunes. I actually like the solos and sound from this more than what made it to the final product. River of Love on these takes just screams.
I bought this back in 2003 as a videotape.I was always admiring GL as a guitarist but before buying this instructional videotape,i thought that the best guitarists should play fast and technically no matter what the melody that was thrown away! Now i can confess that this tape changed completely my aspect for music and also changed 100% my style as a guitarist.George lynch can play fast, techically, and kick everybody's ass with his melodies especially in his solos...A scary man indeed...
George is fantastic. I heard him in the studio many times playing raw. There are a lot of great guitarists that it's hard for me to personally say who is my favorite. I heard Eddie many times as well. Both fantastic guys! Eddie gets put down a lot since he does similar solos and such. But, no mistaking if he decides to let loose, he is just sick. He is very reserved where most guitarists go balls out all of the time. I have heard dozens of his solos and riffs that are still not on record.
Mega talented musician whom I met & photographed for this tour at the RockIt Club in Tampa and again a few days later for the Live Stock festival. This was BITD when I worked for Thrust & Jam magazine. Still have the pics & negatives, pized possesions 4 sure!
I've seen tons of guitar shred videos on here, and alot of those people have great technique, but this video by George Lynch is far better if you ask me! His solos have a great deal of soul and emotion in them. ROCK ON GEORGE!!!!
The thing I like about lynch is that he is not just a shredder type dude. He has fantastic licks, phrasing & personality IMO. Great tone too. Gota love all those high class amps!
Lynch is my fave of all time, but he was very much an acclaimed guitarist. He won solo of the year twice for In my Dreams and Mr Scary. He was always in the top 3 guitarists for hard rock in the 80s. He is definitely a guitar hero!
Probably the best soloing i have ever heard...and the most exiting soloing ever recorded. I wish he would have kept this style...my god he´s a master.....the feel is amazing

Randy,George is great

Doubt it. His stuff isn't up to par with the modern guitar heros.
@@jimbojones4164 Nah, Lynch has tone/style no one else has
Holy shit! The solo in River of Love is pure genius. Lynch was untouchable during this era and I would have put him up against any guitarist on the planet. He is still an unbelievable talent to this day.

That guitar alone kicks so much ass it's immeasurable.
Joe R. I have that very one except I got it with black headstock -reversed kamikaze.GL Screamin Demon pickup.Quilted maple with see-thru orange paint.
I never tire of this man's superlative skills. An amazing musician.
I don't see how you can dislike this video. George Lynch has more creativity on the guitar then any other rock guitarist to date.
Randy Rhoads & George... Max Norman captures the perfect tones-WOW!!!!!!
How awsome is his playing and tone here!! I still have this on VCR 2019
This shirt makes me cry! 20 years I've played, and loved, and seen George perform. I'll never be able to play the way Georges style has touched, shaped, and amazed my musical inner soul. His string attack is one something I can truly say I love.
An absolute kick ass album. I just wish George actually kept all these takes we hear here for each of the songs, they are absolutely flawless.
There is only one George Lynch!! Amazing!
George lynch is the man I watch this when I got to get recharged in my chops this is the best studio jam.hes the best in the world..
Can someone please explain to me why they didn't use any of these takes for the ACTUAL album?
Yeah some of them are even better
Most likely because it was after the fact?
I’ve always wondered this! The River of Love solo here is WAY better than the album version!
Lol yeah it’s called Wicked Sensation wtf
At this stage of playing/mojo, there are no wrong notes...lynch mob will live in my soul forever...got me back to spiritual/playing again and this video made sure i am going out and getting a practice amp tomorrow as my stack is at the bandhouse...
Lynch Mob forever...r.i.p. singer
George is smokin and one of my influences! Great Album as well!
He is very gifted. Every guitar player at all levels brings something to the studio/stage. But GL...man o man....its an honor to watch him play.

You rock George!!! Ahhmazing kick ass guitarist!
So much feeling!!!!!!!!

most underrated guitarist. my hero.
one of the most amazing players from the
1980's,this dude is very hard to copy or cover,a true original,in every sense of the word,
I always come back to this video, George Lynch is the man, deserves more recognition. Love his tone
I can never get enough of his playing! He will inspire me forever!!!
Awesome! He is pure genius! I could watch and listen to him play for hours!

Will always love your solos george you are the man!

5:05 That's just nuts what he's doing there.
Shit, george has more class and feeling in his playing than most guitarists have with their pinky.Licks for days.
Dude he is the BEST he walks all over EVH
Holy Christ, that solo on Dance of the Dogs makes the hair on the back of neck stand up and bow!!!! George is a master and I've always loved his sound and style. Glad I happened onto this vid!
I met George about a month ago in Brisbane. He's a cool guy, i got his autograph and a photo taking with him. One of my favourite guitar players ever.
I love his sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very under rated Virtuoso ... I learned what a virtuso was after hearing tooth & nail ( when it came out ) ... NO ONE Plays with as much heart & unique style & his tone is awesome. One of the greatest guitarists ever. His lead is just insane but equally matched with his rhythm. I still remember listening to Mr Scary for the first time and being completely floored.
Watching this video when it came out in 1990 inspired me to pick up the guitar for the very first time. He is really one of the all time greats.
Love that quilt top ESP.
That's Max Norman - who produced the first two Blizzard of Ozz LPs (sitting at the mixing console).
É muita técnica, muita precisão, muita velocidade. O cara é uma fonte de onde o som flui incessantemente. Um verdadeiro rockstar!
One of my favourite guitarist.
i remember watching this as VHS cassette back in the 90s. He made some improvisations and looked like he just got out of bed. It was badass none the less. Loved the eastern scales he threw in.
Wow that was off the planet !!!!...fantastic playing very melodic shredding dude...holy crap...
this amazes me every time i see it. :)
Wow, what can u say. As a very average guitarist who loves 80's rock and George this is staggering.....! Wicked Sensation - keep playing it. Humbled as ever :-)
I never knew this man has such amazing skills, woww... keep searching for his videos on YT
Lynchtastic!!
Oh my goodness. He does everything so perfect
Agreed warhead! He was an idol and an inspiration for me as a kid! I grew up on George Lynch and SRV!
Most technical and clean playing I have ever seen, Look that only his left hand is more difficoult then Holdsworth' s one, simply amazing! Plus that vibrato is the perfection!
George Lynch is incredible, so underated as a player. Style, untouchable tone and feel.
Wow! Amazing playing.
its amazing how lynch can input pretty much every technique seamlessly into his solos evenly without using each technique to much in a bad way. he literaly has the fretboared memorized and know his way around every fret, this is my fav era of his shred style

Great guitar player. He has his own style, and I have never met one GOOD guitar player or read about one that said George wasn't good. George even makes playing your guitar high look cool!!
this is quite possibly one of the nicest guitars I've ever seen.....me want it!

George is my favorite
Great improv George-WOW bro!!!!
c'est enorme cette petite demo !!!
MASTER OF STYLE!!!
Probably the best player from the 80s. He's just one with that guitar! So insanely melodic and so otherwordly rhythmic!!!
Monster rhythm player...monster lead player....a style that is unmistakable, gritty and sinister. Enough said!
This is some of the best guitar playing in history. Truly unique.
i remember watching this as a 17 year old and being blown away. after that i had to practice "a bit".
It's not only skill...it's feeling. George is amazing. Dokken FOREVER!!!
so unique and nice muscles. Unchain the night for me George!!
MY HERO! Finally someone else that's into this! Makes my day!

Outstanding!
ive seen lynch numerous times( dokken and solo) this guy is absolutly not human. and is the nicest most humble guy ive ever met
Lynch is my fave of all time, but he was very much an acclaimed guitarist. He won solo of the year twice for In my Dreams and Mr Scary. He was always in the top 3 guitarists for hard rock in the 80s. He is definitely a guitar hero!
He blows me away every time I hear him play
heaps of people can shred awesomely but, they can't make it sound as COOL as George Lynch can
I want that guitar!!!!
Phrasing on another level!!!
