This works !! You can use a pringles container and it works less material!😊

This is interesting because it's basically just the directions for making a camera obscura

That's exactly right! You can actually do this same thing with most binoculars too and potentially get an easier to see projection, but obviously you shouldn't watch the eclipse directly through them without the correct lens filters.

The sun doesn't emit more radiation just because there's an object in front of it. In fact, you would think that there would be less radiation reaching the Earth. Is it due to gravitational lensing?

@@tabula_rosa thank you Rosa so with that information. I imagine it's okay to briefly blink in that direction. Before it gets dark. Just as it is safe relatively to Blink at the Sun during normal situations.

@@mikewalker7385 It is not safe to blink at the Sun, that's the need for making things like this so you can look at it in certain occasions. 👍

Since it's darker during an eclipse, your pupils expand which lets more of the available rays in. Because its an eclipse people are more likely to look directly at the sun for an extended period of time so it ends up being the same amount absorbed as looking at the sun any other day

No but even a tiny bit of radiation can damage your retina, Do you want to take that risk with your vision?

Or, alternatively look at the sun in small occasional glances like any typical mammal does and see it first hand. Or don't, and be afraid that biology made nothing but mistakes and cower in fear lol
