    This is freaking amazing. I was thinking about adding a screen but then thought I was being unreasonably stupid with my new ideas related to HA. So, I am not the only one filled with what might seem like stupid ideas when it comes to HA. It is literally 4:00 AM here in Berlin, and I just finished integrating my SONOFF smart modules.

    Refreshing to see a video about your take on this and how you “could” do others but just had requirements you needed. It’s fairly cheap, presented amazing and concise. Benefits of “can be used for other stuff cus it’s a Pi” are great. Really love this video. Will be subscribing to see what else you have. 10/10 mate, keep up the awesome work.

    Thank you for showing, quite clearly, how simple it is to do a project like this. Gives me hope I might make a version that works, too. Something to do with that small stack of RPI3 over in the corner.

    Fun fact, every company selling their product on Amazon needs to have a registered trademark. Trademarks take time to be approved because research has to be done to find if they could be infringing. Quicker to get approved if your trademark is just a jumble of random letters. You'll notice it all over Amazon.

    • @jasontaschereau8785

      Another fun fact is this setup doesn't work as shown

    • @NicksStuff
      @NicksStuff 6 місяців тому +2

      They don't (I sell on Amazon). But having a trademark allows you to have a nicer listing (A+ content instead of plain text), it also protects you a bit more against highjackers (who'd sell a dqdiezjf screen on your listing for a jdskjdsjd screen).
      What is mandatory, though, is to put your brand name in the listing title. And you absolutely don't want to infringe on someone else's trademark, which is easy when your brand name is xcxc,;xnvcx

    This Video is almost everything I could think to want. Since this is a Raspi is there any chance to tack on an ESP32 for wake word execution for everything under the Home Assistant Sun.
    Also this isn't a: Well you should've / could've, as it is it's a could that even be a thing. Because that would be the trigger for me. As I want to install a Shelly EM inside my Breaker Panel to monitor energy usage on a Panel display, along with a few other bobs, and ends like Calendar sync. And heating controls. And the less I can feed Google, or (Sc)Amazon, or pay for a Nabu Casa sub., well thats just a bonus ain't it?

      @@Ichijoe2112 Running HA on a RPi is stupid, ignorant, and uninformed. Good for testing/learning; that is it. All of the Read/Writes on a busy HA instance can kill the Micro SD relatively quickly. If you have a VM server about, why not run HA there??? A VM (with good resources) will out perform a RPi any day.
