the worst part was the fact they removed him from literally a large part of the back end of the game...
which means if you wanna do alot of extra stuff in the game such as nodes and overworld stuff, you cant use him....
That’s because of what happens in the story. You can still use him all the way up to the end of ch. 12, and for story reasons it wouldn’t make sense for cait Sith to be walking around with the party up to the temple, it never made sense in the old game either. Thankfully hard mode, ch. select, and new game+ exist to max out cait’s weapons and moves.
They did such a good job making everyone fun to use, even Cait Sith. Seriously can't wait for part 3

I'm getting closer and closer to getting platinum. I have the brutal challenges done (including rulers), every minigame done (except for the gold saucer queen's blood), and many chapters on hard mode done. All I have left to do for plat is the legendary combat sim challenges, finish the rest of hard mode, finish the gold saucer card challenges, and do 2 more loveless plays and I'll have the plat. It's been rough lol
The last 2 Legendary challenges are annoying as hell lol just finished them a couple days ago finally. Good luck!
@@Collin255still trying to figure how to defeat Odin on the legendary bouts. Being training soloing him with Cloud but i found that he is too much random with the death move, sometimes it uses way earlier even if i do not take damage and sometimes it takes longer to do it
@@samoliv7426 yeah I think no matter what you do, there is going to be some luck involved, which makes it even more annoying cuz you might make it all the way to him and then just be unlucky and he'll use it early and you'll have to start over. But just keep at it, eventually luck will be on your side and you'll have a run where everything just lines up
@@Collin255finally did bonds of friendship 🎉. It was one hell of a challenge. I tried to be a hero but died on Alexander haha. On first thoughs i think to be a hero is waaaaay easier than bonds of friendship. I will rest my brain for a few days now before trying it again.
@@samoliv7426 yeah I agree, I actually did the one with Sephiroth on my first try, but I also feel like I got lucky on a few of the fights. But yeah, the one with Zach I would say is definitely the hardest
You can abuse Lucky Slots by pausing the slots using the touchpad to pause it if that helps as all lol

I'm not a big fan of Cait's combat loop myself, but I did notice something interesting about his mechanics during the slog through Shinra Manor. When you cast magic Cait casts the spells himself, but when you block, the moogle does the blocking. This means you can guard against enemy attacks WHILE casting Firaga/Curaga/Whatevaga totally uninterrupted (although you obviously still take SOME damage with regular guards), and only Cait Sith can do this. Admittedly it's kinda sick because in combat scenarios against relentless attackers or an abundant enemy formation it can be tricky to find an opening to drop a spell that might save the party. Aerith does get Radiant Ward for uninterrupted casts, but Cait Sith's advantage over her is he can reduce incoming damage with an actual block and he doesn't have to spend an ATB on the set-up. Maybe Aerith's power and utility are more reliable than Cait's, I never enjoyed her combat mechanics either. But I felt this was a unique enough advantage for Cait that was worth pointing out.
