  • Here is as SD and CF Type B Card Rounds up and comparison.
    More info here: elyroberts.com....
In this video, I and, discuss memory cards, CF Express type B cards, and solid-state drives. I start by mentioning that Lexar sent me some memory cards to review, including a CF Express type B card. I decided to compare these new cards to the ones I've been using. I also talk about my practice of periodically replacing memory cards due to concerns about their longevity, especially since I shoot a lot and often use multiple cameras.
I share the results of the tests I conducted on various memory cards, including Lexar, OWC (Other World Computing), Angelbird, SanDisk, and Sony Tough cards. I compare their read and write speeds, discussing their performance and price points. I mentioned my preference for 256GB SD cards for my workflow.
Next, I discuss CF Express type B cards, which I primarily use as backups and for video work. I compare the performance and prices of Angelbird, OWC, and Lexar CF Express type B cards, with Lexar being the fastest and most cost-effective option.
Towards the end, I touch on the use of external SSDs for editing and recommend a specific model for its speed and affordability. I stress the importance of regular backups and suggest color-coding Thunderbolt cables for easy identification.
In conclusion, the video provides my recommendations and insights into memory cards and SSDs, including their performance and pricing. I also invite viewers to share their favorite memory cards, CF Express cards, or portable hard drives in the comments section and direct them to a webpage for detailed statistics and additional information.

So, the UHS-II SD cards now are the expensive ones )). It really makes no sense to buy them over the less expensive and much faster CFX cards. The only problem is that they keep putting SD card slots into high-end cameras. Those CFX + SD combos are quite annoying. They should just pick one. Or give us dual CFX + SD or microSD as a third card slot or a built-in memory. Unless the upcoming new SD Express cards are going to turn the table. Samsung is going to release the 1TB microSD Express this year.

The best price to performance SD card I've tested is the PNY EliteX-Pro60. V90 cards right now are ridiculously expensive so the GFX100 II large buffer size will compensate for non-sports shooters when using V60 cards.
That PNY card is V60 and got up to 271MB Read / 192MB write. $125 for 512GB. Trades blows with that OWC V90 card you've tested for way cheaper.

So here’s a question did you put all the cards in your camera and see how long it took to clear the buffer. You know when light stops flashing?
Also, did you have a USB-C UHS-II card reader to offload say 32 gigs of data from each SD card to see which card downloaded the fastest with 1 or 2 different UHS-II readers?

I didn't. I didn't have too much time test these out. I just did the tests in the video on the same card reader. All I really cared about was write speeds.

Awesome review! Thank you! I guess my fear with Lexar would be the failure rate of their cards based on my past experiences. That being said, I just sent off a bunch of Sony toughs that failed under warranty and have a stack of them that failed just after a year.

Thanks, Michael! The only cards I've had issues with are SanDisk and Transcend. I try not to keep them around long enough to fail. A year sounds short. Yikes.
