Winter Ahead holds the biggest debut for a jazz song in spotify history 🔥🔥SHE was HIM 😭 the sculpture was him!!! KIM TAEHYUNG'S MUSIC isn't just simply music, it's a whole fxcking novel! crying with tears in his eyes is art and he did it effortlessly!! The same mark on taehyung , woman & the sculpture showcasing how he conjured up everything ,The dark persona reminiscent of this fact
And what stood out to me most was how perfectly Taehyung emoted the moment of realisation . Just brilliant !! the moment when realization hits taehyung. none of it was real. a fantasy inside a fantasy, dreamt up by a solitary artist who confronts himself at the end. and as he cries, he also smiles. because even if false, his dreams were still so very beautiful. and he was so happy. the version in front of him bleeds from a cracked head and we see glimpses of cracked sculpture heads in his workshop. this too is him then. both are him. none more real than the other. the cynic and the romantic. the darkness and the light. . The beginning is V the sculpture and he sculps a woman he falls in love with. Basically represents being lonely. He sculps all the people too. At the end he has to face the madness of his mind. With the X on his neck being its not reality, the statue is being him is not real. The sound of him taking off the mask which you saw broken on the floor was painful and pain unfortunately brings reality. But if you notice his face of acceptance and tears at the end because sometimes facing yourself and accepting the dark and light is heartbreaking.

V the sculptor created an image of himself, V the statue or the sculpture. V sculptor must be projecting his own desires to live be with someone in his V statue. Or he could be a loner, seeking to live/happiness but doesn’t know how. This desire breathed life to his creation. Thus, when the V statue came to life, he also desired to be with someone and created a female statue and breathed life to her. The V sculpture lived the life, ie, going around, feeling the wind, being awed by other lives (like the butterfly), dancing, partying, celebrating, loving a girl. But that will end as he faced his creator later and realized he was not real, thus the heartbreaking sadness and acceptance in V’s eyes in the last scene. This is when you see the girl disappearing and even his face in the mirror partly turning into stone.
The sculptor V is bloodied. This may represent his own brokenness, or relate to the scene where he was angry and frustrated and took such anger on his scuplture of V thus scraping that part of his face under his eye, and breaking him. It can also be theorized that when sculptor V broke the V statue, this instead gave life to the statue while the sculptor sustained the brokenness or injuries, sort of opposite effect.
Or these could all just be a part of the sculptor’s dreams. Teaser 1 represents the darkness in his life. Teaser 2 is his daydream of a happier life, although it will end like any other dream, and he will go back to reality.
Also the dark jacket and heavy footsteps may represent the darkness in the sculptor’s life, while the red jacket and whitish colors may symbolize life and lightness.
For me there are both biblical and mythological elements in the storyline.
This is what I think at least. Right or wrong, the MV is brilliant. It evokes many thoughts even after watching the MV, and has real depth. V’s acting is so effective. I can still feel sadness for his character seeing his expressions.
V’s vocal harmony with PH is also superb and magical! V’s visual is unparalleled throughout the video. This MV and song are masterpieces that not snykne can put together. Kudos to PH and as for V, he really is Korea’s best talent and treasure!
I've been impressed with V's MVs. A lot goes into them and they tell a deeper story than one can get even from the lyrics. Like you said, it really makes you think and break it down.

Not many are pointing out the last scene where V is wearing a white shimmery top. This may symbolize him being free from darkness (vs V in menacing black jacket) nor passing life (vs V in red jacket/cardigan). It’s just himself in the end, glistening in paradise.

Oh, I wish you watched the Cinematic Still Ver to see the interaction between V and Hyo Shin and to focus on the song without the MV's storyline. *** Speaking of storyline, here's my theory. Dark V is the original sculptor and he creates Light V out of loneliness and as a representation of his perfected self. This Light V comes to life and also experiences loneliness and sculpts the woman which of course comes to life also. I think the red butterfly is crucial in the story because this represents transformation (notice V appears in that red jacket later.) This Light V then creates all the other sculptures coz if he can make the woman, he can make a whole community to party with, right? Dark V disapproves of this because he only wants the perfected V, not all the other imperfect characters in all sorts of shapes and sizes and ages. So while Light V is partying, Dark V begins to destroy the other sculptures. Notice that while V is dancing, he realizes that the people start disappearing one by one until he is alone again. This is where he encounters Dark V and realizes that he is a sculpture too. Dark V gives him a menacing smirk as if saying you're mine, I created you and I control you. With tears in his eyes, Light V accepts his fate. ***
I have to say V's acting is superb! He doesn't need big overly dramatic gestures to convey the feeling, small facial movements is enough for this talented actor. Bravo! And the song itself is one that imprints in your heart the more you listen to it. Very quintessential Taehyung. Borahae!
