The reason why the general public is not able to distinguish between anesthesiologist and anesthetist is the lack of access to informed information, not with an intention to show disrespect. I don't think it is easy for the general public to tell such nuance unless there is prior knowledge to this field. With that being said, it's more practical to educate your patient the speciality and what the title entails. This is the responsibility of an anesthesiologist, not that of the general public because you're coming from a place with relatively more informed information.
Thank you for your comments, and yes I totally agree, even my parents didn’t know anesthesiologists exist until I chose this specialty after medical school, and it took quite a long time for them to understand what I do. The general public should have more information about our field coming from us.
The private practice for anesthesiologist is completely different in Taiwan than in US, I contribute this to the universal health care system in Taiwan. The acuity and surgery type is completely different. I stumble onto your YT by accident. I am an anesthesiologist with subspecialty in pediatric anesthesiology. It is always interesting to see how anesthesia practice is like in each country.
Yes, it is very different for anesthesiologists in Taiwan. The private practice for anesthesiologists is mainly in plastic surgery, EGD/colonoscopy, and dental surgery now in more demand.

李醫師妳好 想請問我太太剛做完手術，從恢復室出來就反應很想吐，到病房後的幾小時，就陸續的嘔吐了3次，伴隨頭痛漲漲的很不舒服，嘴裡非常的苦與乾，麻醉恢復的過程中很痛苦，請問這樣算是對麻藥過敏嗎？以後如果還有需要手術麻醉的需要時，將如何預防再發生這樣的情況?

請問～生產的減痛分娩針，會因為（骨縫太小）要打個7-8次，打30分鐘才成功嗎？後來懷2胎換不同醫院不同產檢醫師，婦產科醫師說我遇到技術很不純熟的麻醉醫師。所以………….到底是我天生不適合打減痛針，還是是真的遇到新手呢？打針打了30分鐘才成功，正常嗎？不知別人打減痛針打多久

麻醉科醫師在醫院當然就是在開刀房內麻醉居多，會跟同仁們一起輪班，值班後的隔天是可以休息off的；而在診所環境中麻醉醫師上刀的時間會比較不固定，會以上刀麻醉到手術結束為止，但不用值夜班。
薪資的部分在醫院有會有個較固定的收入，當然也會隨著資歷越高做些調整。而在診所就是工作多少收入就有多少，雖然沒有底薪，但工作時數是跟收入成正比的，也就是說麻醉工作越多，也有可能會比醫院的收入還要來得更高哦～

其實很多時候是麻醉護理師全程在手術室照顧病人，麻醉醫生出現時間並不一定，緊急時的給藥處理為的是救病人，而不是等醫師電話order，被稱為密醫，聽了也是很受傷。
還是要及時與麻醉科醫師告知下order給予處置。密醫指的是連麻醉科醫師都不在那整間診所或醫療院所，只有麻護在，那這樣是不對的。
@@doctor.jennielee 當然，畢竟麻護沒有領醫師的薪水，實在沒必要去承擔那責任，但不負責任與拖延的麻醫也是有的，所以冠上密醫一詞反而會造成傷害與不信任，這不會是一個好的合作關係。我只想表達這個。謝謝
@@annie09201824 當然，非常同意您！不負責任的麻醫當然也有。不過我指的不是在醫院中麻醉科醫師以及麻醉護理師之間的合作關係；而是在診所環境當中，許多院所是完全沒有聘請麻醉科醫師而是只有麻醉護理師，那這樣的行為就是密醫。
