Nick I have a Della Corte grinder that has the ability to link to a Della Corte espresso machine and adjust the grind based on extraction times and the differences as the coffee ages and as humidity changes over the service period. So what you are talking about is already possible and has been for years. My grinder is a DC1 bought on eBay about 5 years ago for £500.
Looks like you might have gotten one of the last P64’s before they issue a redesign, partly to address manufacturing delays. Still awaiting my ‘early April’ delivery…
Really enjoy listening to you guys. But watching you on UA-cam instead of my podcast app for the first time was really weird - given the fact I usually listen at 1.5x speed. Makes the intro a lot more funky! Keep up the good work guys.
I am planning on getting a Linea Mini towards the end of the summer. Really intrigued about the rumours you mentioned. Spill some beans! They will never read these comments.. ;)
@@cuprajake1 theres no rational reason to buy the mini, as a couple of other people mentioned in a previous video when it was discussed. i just like the idea of buying a machine from a heritage maker with industrial-specced components (that i ofc dont need) and it looks a lot better than all the other chrome boxes that compete. considered the decent but some of their product design ideas - particularly the super cheap tablet - puts me off.
@@bartalks1810 given it has been what, 7 years since the LMLM release, it is not beyond reason that an update is due. I would expect to see a digital display for the PID with shot clock and temperature control, but no touch-screen, as I'm sure they like the analogue aesthetic. I would also expect to see that the paddle allows for controllable pre-infusion and perhaps even flow control, although this may require an additional gauge to take full advantage of it. I would be surprised if full pressure profiling is invoked, as that may compromise GS3 sales. Other than that, I can't see what else would need improving.
@@bartalks1810 Yes...the only problem Nick...is that I just placed an order for an LMLM on Friday! Typical! Anyway, for those of us not into third wave orange juice, the benefits of pre-infusion and flow control are less compelling. Temp adjustment can still be achieved by the app quite nicely and shot clocks are problematic if measuring from liquid in rather than pump on and anyway, if you are using a scale, you may as well use the clock on that and only then have to keep an eye on one place. I tell myself these things to make me feel better....not sure it's working!

really? I wonder why nobody else is doing that. Does it work?
I need that.

Finally, someone who's behind me in the queue. I was starting to wonder if by the time I got it, they would be on a new model...

Thank you so much :)

I wouldn't like to say - truthfully I don't know much and it's probably BS, just that it was a 'small' rumour

Does Max think interrupting Nick every 30 seconds is entertaining?
He's European. Percieved rudeness is less of a priority over there.. :)
I find it entertaining, do you? 😊
