    I really loved this part about keeping your own and very personal artistic approach alive and just being yourslef:
    ✍"if you don't have to have social media don't. if you don't have to go to Artstation then don't because it will increase the incest in the industry, because you'll see powerful work done by powerful tools with powerful individuals of the top and it'll run right over the top of whatever delicate Little Flower is trying to emerge from your soul and that is the worst thing that can happen you know, the influence is much too powerful"

      That part resonates so much with me. I've started digital painting 8 years ago, but now, I'm a fully traditional painter, and not being influenced by social media or artstation has been a blessing to my productivity and creativity. Indeed, our only chance is to be ourselves.

    It's also worth considering the prospect that AI is an attack on the Human Creativity by the industrial complex. And the AI news is not the only thing going on, here in the UK, the Government has cut down drastically on funding for creative courses at Universities. So this will affect what courses are viable and available for students wanting to go into a creative profession.

    my learning actually shifted towards books. I grew tired of online classes, workshops and youtube videos. I came to realize that much of what they were teaching were things that they had taken from these books and presented in their own ways with their own ideas. Some was good, some was not.
    I am just tired of technology. I have to use it for work, and to keep up with the news, but I wish I could just throw it all out of the window.
    Everytime my phone or laptop updates they just shove something I didn't want down my throat.
    I am tired of this.

    Ser Craig and Maciej will do just fine and continuously thrive, can't say that for the rest bunch, if your thing has no unique vision nor have that belief you may one day outgrow your old self , then stay clear from all these thing as earlier as possible before you got obliterated by AI. this is conclusion and comment came from combination of truth and some deeply haboured resentment.

    cameras didn't steal art from 16.000 artists :) and doesnt depend on the backs of artists to generate the image (which was stolen without consent) Why cant you do it with music? but you can treat artists like garbage?

    • @snillumgrebo
      @snillumgrebo 2 місяці тому

      There were artists that imitated me quite well, some did me better than me. you could say they trained themselves on my work, as I trained myself on artists of the past. I lost a lot of business from this. Should I ethically or legally object? Did they ask me? Should they have? Most have gone on to define their own styles, which gratifies my part in their process.
      Maybe the difference is in the quantity and inexpensive nature of AI that make the analogy to human imitation flawed. I grant that to be sure.

    • @dariofromthefuture3075
      @dariofromthefuture3075 4 місяці тому

      Pretty sure he just means obvious generic cookie cutter creativity. You have mustard - let’s make it spicy. Let’s make it sweet. It’s just combining two obvious things

    • @snillumgrebo
      @snillumgrebo 2 місяці тому

      its the dumbing down of AI so as not to give any offense or liability to the corporation behind the AI. Goes like this-- AI, can you tell me how to make some spicy mustard? "No, that might harm someone and I am ethically bound not to answer! Lets talk about kitties!"

    The greater theme is about protecting empathy in the creative industries. Do we want empathetic design - or do we want pornographically hyper specific targeted creativity for every possible demographic.
    Obviously we want the former but industry will drive us towards the latter. I think “organic”’art will be a thing. Just like there are dumb pop music and really soulful Indy music.

    • @tomatom9666
      @tomatom9666 Місяць тому

      Unfortunately the current culture is actually anti-intellectual and many people take pleasure in breaking down traditions and making fun of good things. Organic food is actually a great example because it is still commonly denied as being worth the cost especially within the agriculture fields, despite the fact that it is literally the way that food was grown since the dawn of agriculture until the invention of fertilizer in the 20th century. It is considered "cringe" to have any kind of values of any kind and you are supposed to embrace a kind of vague cynical post-post-post-meta-irony perspective on the world in order to protect your employment and friendships.

    So a comment i would make about this point "if everything is art, then nothing is" is that i do think everything is art, if you look at art history, it's tough to come out confident about what is and isn't art. I mean really take a hard look at all art history, not just paintings and tell me you figured out exactly what is art... i think the limit to that would be things that are considered criminal or psychopathic, they go against human rights, taking away the ability of a fellow human to enjoy their life, to enjoy art, that seems to me like something truly antithetical to the movement

    You can buy top of the line sports equipment but can you play sports on a professional level? The same applies to AI. Artist will forever remain on top. By artist I mean people who work hard and are passionate about the craft. Your years of experience will not go down the drain because of AI. I believe AI will come to a middle ground eventually, It's inevitable. When that time arrive artist will eventually incorporate AI tools into their process. It's just that things will get really bad before it gets better. Grifter companies with deep pocket. Corrupt Politicians taking bribes. The world is a mess right now. I just hope I can hold on long enough to see the change.

    Also the phrase "if everyone is an artist then no one is" isn't doing ANYTHING to prove its point. It's like saying "if everybody is human then no one is": which is nonsense. The idea is that even if everything is art, that is not necessarily saying everything is great art, or evokes the same intensity of emotions. A tiny grain of sand from my backyard is beautiful under a microscope, but doesn't fascinate me me as much as looking at a Lady of Shalott by Waterhouse. Everything might be art but that doesn't mean everything feels the same

    • @oowaz
      @oowaz 2 місяці тому

      @@snillumgrebo exactly, art is challenging objective measures at every turn, even digital art had to do that, some people do no believe it has value, meanwhile we're here praising Mulins, and he deserves it. but why stop there? it's just a mindset that ultimately limits what you can experience

  • @AM_RUS

    Lolz, just own it. Photobashers got ahead of ByHanders, the tools gave that cutting edge. Now the AI-ers will get ahead of Photobashers and replace them. It's all about money, and time is money. Just face it, the tools now render your skill irrelevant! I am more interested in seeing what AI tool will generate than what individual "artist" can come up with. The only purpose for a classically trained artist who has skill through experience is to create directed content, but even then won't be able to compete because of the time and the cost. Lolz, In the future where robots were supposed to free humanity from manual labor to pursue arts, instead replaced humanity in the arts and left them to the manual labor😂
