I never before nor after loved a sports team as much as I love the 1984 Tigers. They came right at the end of the "innocent" part of my childhood. I don't think the city of Detroit or the state of Michigan has ever loved a team that much since either.
JOE GARIGIOLA: "I can't believe what's happening, it's like Padre Busters, the gremlins have hit the fiels ...." No one quite like good Joe G. He made watching baseball fun, interesting and entertaining. God rest his soul
Talk about guys in the wrong uniforms- Garvey, Nettles and Gossage. Good Lord like Unitas in a SD Charger uniform. Fun series anyway. The ROAR in 84. Nothing like old Tiger Stadium

Love this game, when baseball mattered.

Incidentally, neither the Padres nor the Chargers have ever won the big prize.

i always felt the fans ruin it for the players when they storm the field. glad they don't do that anymore.
