I was laying in bed today with a migraine and an overwhelming feeling of peace and warmth came over me. I was going to take a nap but decided to see if Claire's mom posted any updates on her condition. but she's didn't so o went to Google. then I found out she had passed. she made such a huge impact on me and I will live the rest of my life in honor of her. We love you Claire.
It feels like reality screwed up. She’s helped me with my existential fear of death in some ways and motivating me in my own life to do more. I regret forgetting about her for a few months there after discovering about her channel & all back in 2015/16. Rest In Peace Claire 😔.
The moment I learn that she pass away I literally feel a hand squeezed my heart It feels like losing someone I know for a long time a very close person to me I don't but it really breaks me

It can be very sad when someone who encourages us dies. However, there are so many inspirational people on UA-cam that can fill the void and help us get outside our own pain. There’s a show called, ‘Born Different’ with many examples of people enjoying fulfilling lives. One example that is truly encouraging is the ‘60 Minutes’ show about Nick Vujicic. When I’m feeling depressed, I spend some time on these videos and I come away thinking I don’t have it so bad after all. An inspirational quote I saw years ago, also helps me stay grounded. Attitude is the world’s paintbrush, it colors every situation. Clair Wineland figured that out and truly learned to enjoy life regardless of her situation. We honor people like that when we learn from them and make the best of the life we have.

I was also quite devastated when I learned of Claire's passing. I was so thrilled when I heard she received her transplant, just knowing that this beautiful young woman would have a chance for a long life...and now she's gone. But is she REALLY gone? I believe not. She lives through you, through me and through anyone else who was touched by her beautiful outlook on life. Claire's life may have been short but she made a difference with the time she had. More of a difference than I have in my 50 years. She was my inspiration and I'll miss her terribly. I don't know how to even put it words to describe what I felt when I heard about her death. I watched her videos, she made me feel like I knew her personally and felt like a family member passed. She was 21 and her body was very sick, but inside her soul and mind, she was an old soul with such insight that most people her age haven't learned yet. If there is a higher power then that beautiful, kind loving soul was needed for something special. Rest in peace Claire.

When I heard the news I was honestly heartbroken. I really couldn't believe this because everything seemed okay and that went away. It really makes you think about reality. She really impacted me and made me realize more to life when i wasn't at an okay part in my life. Yeah it`s so sad she`s gone! From what I`ve read a blood clot formed post transplant & that led to the stroke on her right side of her brain.... She was 1 in a billion person. Now she`s in the heavens. She left us a template on how to be happy & love life. We must all honor that.
It's strange cuz here in Finland only like a handful of people have CF. I heard the news an hour ago.. So unfair.. But then again, we don't know how long she would have lived after getting new lungs. It's a shocking situation.. She was hopeful for the first time.
I'm really saddened and shocked to hear about her death, and I wish she would have taken the naturopathic approaches that she was suggested to try into consideration. It might have prolonged her life and alleviated her symptoms for a few more years.

I feel the same way as you. It's scary and heartbreaking that she was so happy and hopeful and it just 'gets taken away' like that. Rationally I know that no one and nothing is to blame for this - I don't believe in a God or higher conscience. But it's so extremely unfair that it almost makes me feel angry at 'Fate', whatever that is, even though I don't believe in it. I know it just *happened*, just by bad luck. A wise woman said it best: 'life is unfair because nature is unfair.' Nature is neutral and led by circumstance. I can't decide if it's comforting to know that, that it's all just circumstance and not controlled by anyone or anything, or if it's scary that we're so powerless and subjected to nature. Is it more comforting to think Claire (and other people that died unfairly) is in heaven, and there's a higher power out there who let it happen? I don't think so, but I understand people's need to try and give meaning to the unfairness of life. I don't know what Claire believed, but I just hope she was at peace. And I don't believe in an afterlife, but you know that theory where after your death, you keep reliving your life over and over again in your brain in an endless loop? I hope that's true. That she's living it all again, and therefore not really gone.
