    The red and black drawers look great and tie in nicely visually with the saw stop colors. I plan to copy this thanks!
    I’m assembling my saw stop today and tomorrow and it seems to me that the mobile base is strong enough to lift a built in cabinet.
    Thanks for the video.

    Nice build. Love the way you connected saw and storage on one rolling platform. I just bought a SawStop PCS 3hp and am thinking about building storage like I had with my Grizzly contractor saw. I also want a router table on that wing. I think I’ll have to make a skinnier vertical cabinet with sliding out vertical drawers and hang all my accessories in it.

    Great idea! I think i'm going to do the same. I felt it when you tried to get the saw on the mobile base. I just got mine and i made a really crazy system to get it up alone. Ladder, Scrap Lumber, Clamps and a Car Jack! Lol. Luckily it worked. Enjoyed the video! Thanks.

    Wow, great build! Congrats on your new SawStop! I got mine about a year and a half ago and still LOVE it! I am not tall so I am not going to be raising mine but I really like the matching cabinet that you created. And the red, black, "chrome" colors really pop! Thanks for the inspiration!

    Great idea/build, and I love the message too. I will be getting a PCS with the 36" extension sometime in the next couple of months and I also want to raise the saw a few inches. It looks like the base footprint is 19 3/8" X 19 3/8". About how much did you add to this for the opening in the stand? thanks

    • @CharityBuilds
      @CharityBuilds  2 роки тому

    Hey man really think this is a great idea/video. Quick question. Isn’t most of the weight sitting on the wood that is only inflated with pocket screws? Is that holding up to all that weight? Thinking of following your example build with some minor mods.

    • @CharityBuilds
      @CharityBuilds  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks man! Not sure if you noticed but I originally planned to do dados, but can't recall why I didn't end up using it. I do agree that having the ply into a dado would be best. However, I've had the same base since and it's still going strong with the glue and pocket holes.
      Let me know if you build it. Would love to see your version.

    What casters did you use, and how are they holding up?

    • @CharityBuilds
      @CharityBuilds  2 роки тому

      I used 3" harbor freight casters. They are holding up well. If you can go with the stronger/industrial the better it'll be.

    How did the joint compound hold up? I am 6:30 into the video great job. I hit subscribe

    • @CharityBuilds
      @CharityBuilds  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the sub! It's held up well. No issues. I don't know if it's apparent in the video but I left a thin layer of it so there isn't a thick layer that'll crack or chip off.

  • @chuckw4680
    @chuckw4680 2 роки тому

    How do you keep it from rolling when in use? Sure the wheels can lock, but I added wheels to my old contractor saw and they don't hold the saw still in the least...

    • @CharityBuilds
      @CharityBuilds  2 роки тому

      Like you said I lock them. The saw is pretty heavy so it'll take a bit of force to move when wheels are locked compared to a contractor saw.

    Very cool, but...I would suggest you avoid MDF in the future with these kinds of builds just because it doesn't lend itself to load bearing nearly as much as other materials such as plywood and since you do understand how to cut dado's and half laps pretty well with a ripping blade you start to integrate them into your cabinet builds. There's a whole lot of different ways to make cabinets, drawers, etc., without butt joints and pocket screws? Really? LOL
    One other thing, when you're painting wood like that try using a good, sandable primer under the paint. add as many layers as needed with a spray gun if you have a compressor..The finish will come out so much smoother.

    • @CharityBuilds
      @CharityBuilds  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the feedback! All fair points. I can say that I've grown since that build. I wouldn't knock pocket holes that hard especially for shop projects and for beginners. Lol. MDF paints we'll and I had a bunch of it so I gave it a go. I am spraying my finished now with hvlp. If I had to do it again would I change some things? 100%. Hoping to drop some new content, so stay tuned. Would love to hear your feedback..
