Think dai's metro back in the 80s was c998 lca. I spoke to him and phil short on the national breakdown rally. They wanted to set the light pod up so i took them to a wooded lane near bingley. Still remember the noise echoing through the wooded valley. Happy Days 😊
It was a long day 🧡 #ThanksMarshal
I bet it was! Plenty of thermals I hope!!
I volunteer here and was on the startline. The RS6 was particularly heavy to manipulate as i take over the brakes with a 10kg chock.
Yes the RS6 was certainly one of the larger vehicles of the day! Owned by the Chairman of BOC I Believe
The Skodas properly lit up the track. Could listen to pops and bangs all day. Also a MK2 Escort with a sequential box is a a joy to behold
Yes there was plenty of turbo chatter - I agree the sound of a sequential box on a Mk2 is glorious - there were a couple there as well!
Great to see this event and see Dai in action again, favourite car ever is Opel Ascona 400 Rothmans livery CC CK 188 Plate ... Class
Yes the Asconas always looked good in that livery! Almost made you want to take up smoking! Lol😂
Thanks - great to see. Favourite...? Probably the wonderful 037...!
It looked and sounded awesome - rare car to see in red as well!

Wow what a great memory and story - the glory days of Rally! Thanks for sharing!

I was there with my photo friends. Audi Quattro, Skoda R5 which was a rocket, Metros 6R4 were all supberb.
It was hard to pick a favorite wasn't it - The Skoda R5 was insanely quick! Shame the Allegro didn't get a run out lol
Great video from a great event 🚗💨
@@AutoplasMetro6R4V6 thanks Dan your car looked amazing as ever!
@ thanks, very kind of you!
having been involved with rallying on the isle of man for quite a few years the 6r4 and the quatros were my favourites.😅
@ wow the Manx rallies of old were tremendous I wish I’d been there!! Very jealous that you got to see events like that first hand!
Probably the Integrale my top car for what it was, but the Skoda driven by the Moran family was the stand out on track.
@@rogersmith736 yes the Integrale was stunning, I loved the Lancia 037 as well - a rare beast these days!
