DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR AND LEAVE ALL VALUED ITEMS IN YOUR HOTEL ROOM, I REPEAT, DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR AND LEAVE ALL VALUED ITEMS IN YOUR HOTEL ROOM. I visited San Francisco in september 2022. Learned it the hard way!
Our rental car had the window busted out and my backpack stolen. Sad thing is the cops had already arrived and departed when we returned. We did not have to call 911 They have a pre prepared Case Report and Case number for the vandalism under our windshield wiper. They didn’t need to know what was stolen cause they were not going to pursue it. This was the moment we packed up and ended our “SF vacation” from hell!
@@SkinnyTim_5150 i wrote to leave every valued items in your hotel room (like if you go for a walk) and to not leave anything in your car (not just valued items). There is two ideas. Where i am from, you don't get your windows smashed the minute you leave a cheap iphone cable on the passenger seat. In SF, chances are high from what i've seen.
@SkinnyTim_5150 I have lived in Midwest all my life and many times have left stuff in my car with no issues. In the city I'm in rn (Lincoln, NE) you could leave you car unlocked, all doors open, with the keys in the ignition and chances are it could be untouched for hours. From what I've read bout San Fran, carjacking and busting windows could be an Olympic sport over there
I went to from New York (home) to San Francisco for the majority of July 2022 for vacation. It is chilly over there, the neighborhood’s nice, chinatown’s beautiful, and let’s say the entire vacation over there, was a highlight of 2022 in general. Not to mention my uncle lives there.
It's a city so don't be stupid. Europeans know this, they're smart. I had my entire car and briefcase stolen in Madrid years ago because I was clueless. Thieves pray on tourists wherever you go...
This video for SF needs to be updated. Just FYI, all the big stores in Union Square and business around them have vacated the city because of lenient laws and laws that protect the criminals. So, now the crime and shooting that has all occurred in a week has been out of control. The city is no longer safe with homeless people legally doing drugs out in the open. Sorry, I don't recommend it since the Mayor London Bree had defunded the police and promoted crime.
My wife and I just returned from there We cut our vacation short due to the possibility of being harmed or worse. We were not aware of the total degradation there before traveling.
I have been to many cities is Europe and North America (Canada, USA , Mexico) and found San Fransisco as one of the most welcoming, modern, beautiful city in the world. I would love to live there with their variety of cultures and open liberal minded peoples.
I'd also recommend visiting Twin Peaks; One of the many beaches during sunset; and the many other parks such as Crissy Fields in the Presidio, Salesforce, Ina Coolbrith, Dolores and/or Francisco!
Other places to visit in San Francisco are the Twin Peaks, Ocean Beach, SF State College, Lake Merced, and one street that is always overlooked is the street right before the crookedest street, which is so steep it's scary.
Such an amazing city with a decent public transport compared to Los angeles. San francisco is a better city to walk and getting around is quite easy because there are lots of public transit(Buses,BART and more). If I were to visit 🇺🇸, San Francisco would have to be on my bucketlist. Don't forget to make a video travel guide to Seattle and Vancouver 🇨🇦.
I lived in the bernal heights neighborhood and once we walked from there to West Portal neighborhood, in times I would also walk down from the mission District all the way to market Street and sometimes to the wharf. The city is so busy and diverse it doesn't seem to take too long to get from one end of the city to the other. I wish it didn't go to crap the way it did.

Notice at 2.31 the couple taking wedding photos in the background, whilst in the foreground someone is taking a dump in the bushes. This is typical of SF.
When I was visiting SF, the smell of poop, urine was noticeable in some places. There were used syringes on the street and lots of homeless people. I saw a couple cars with busted windows and people taking stuff without paying anything. What in the world is going on?
Nice selection of "top 10 things to do" except 1. You missed The Mission and other Spanish historical sites. 2. Most people would consider the right order of importance is just the other way round!! I mean, isn't the Golden Gate bridge more relevant to the city than Alcatraz?
I had a blast in San Fran ! Stayed in a really cool hostel (Green Tortoise ) which is in a great location! I tried clam chowder served in a giant sour dough bowl (wasn’t a fan !) went to Alcatraz , joined a walking tour (free of charge, would recommend) and joined in a drum circle with some old school hippies at golden gate park!
I will be in SF later this month and am thinking of renting an ebike for a day. I want to check out all the usual spots. How bike friendly is SF and is there secure places to lock up the bike in the tourist areas? Thanks!
Please do your research of SF in 2023 since this video that you just watch is very outdated. There has been multiple shooting in the area, a shoot out, and a massacre all in one week. All of the business has moved out and the streets are full of homeless addicted druggies. The law in SF allows them to do drug in public as long as they are safe...it is strange, but I don't recommend it at all. Please google it and you can find all of the crime that has been occurring...it is scarey in SF now.
Bey Carter I was there for 5 days. There are some homeless but I have seen more in other cities. They were mostly around the business area surrounding the convention center. A few were schizophrenic. That said, I rode the public transportation and never felt threatened in any way. I waddled around freely.
The only places my wife and I were instructed to NOT GO INTO while we were in SF was the Tenderloin, Haight, Northern and Mission District, Bayview, Southern, Central, and Ingleside other than those … we felt secure had about a 2 square block area that we could travel and feel safe in😳🙄🙄

It's unfortunate that you fell for that overblown misconception of San Francisco. It's not perfect but it's not all dirty either. Just like any major metropolitan cities, like Paris, Rome, Barcelona, London, Lisbon, etc., you will always find less than perfect areas within the city.
