    Good video keep it up! I have configured mangle rules and Queue Tree QoS on my Routers, but not Simple Queues before. I watched a Mikrotik MUM video with the Guardians of the Galaxy guy talking about QoS and he said that Simple Queues are better on the CPU than the Queue Tree option so I should certainly look into changing to SImple Queues and this has helped and hopefully your next video will help too. I hate to be the guy that corrects someone, but you said that packets will drop when they reach their shaping limit but that isn't correct. When they hit the shaping limit they should be held in the queue of the Router and only be dropped if that queue size becomes full. I am sure you know this and were just trying to keep it simple :) Keep up the great work mate, kind regards from Australia.

      Now that I think about it I think you were talking about the TCP Windowing dropping the packets not the QoS, which is correct. My bad :)

      @@oliver1121 Now that you mention it I have a problem on my own where even though the bandwidth is not maxed out, it is already dropping packets and queuing. Why is that? I am using Queue Tree btw and PCQ queue type, the packets are supposed to be dropped and queued when it has reached its max limit. I don't get it, are the packets being queued already once the parent and child queues are activated and drops when the queue size is full?

      Hi Peter, this Getting Started guides were essentially replaced with m MTCNA guide. You can find more QOS information on there.

    I have a dhcp that I want to limit bandwidth in mikrotik. I want to make sure that users can use all the bandwidth when they start downloading, but then, for example, they are limited to a certain speed after 10 seconds. How can I do this?

    Nice video! Curious will you be touching on QOS and FastTrack? (Apologize if you have already touched on it and I missed it.) I have known QOS and FastTrack are not possible or so that is what I have understood for a while now. Your content is incredibly valuable and I really appreciate the detail and depth you go into.

    • @TheNetworkBerg
      @TheNetworkBerg  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Landon, that is quite correct FastTrack basically bypasses your firewall for the most part, so things like connection marks will become lost making the QOS obsolete. I have not yet touched on this, I actually need to make a video about the Firewall and how mangle rules and FastTrack works before I move into the next QOS video that will be covering things like packet markings and priorities.

      Well, take it easy and stay safe. That's what I thought about FastTrack. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I look forward to watching more of your content. Keep up the great work!

      Most likely the queue is configured incorrectly, it happens that the wrong target/destination is accidentally selected. If you can post your queue configuration here I could take a look and respond to what I think might be wrong.

    bro I really needs some help , I play call of duty and just need help setting up either dmz or port forwarding , if possible some sort of simple walk through with that if possibel ... ty

    • @TheNetworkBerg
      @TheNetworkBerg  3 роки тому +1

      Hello, I believe I saw a post of yours on Reddit as well. Why do you need a DMZ or port forwarding for Call of Duty? Are you trying to host a COD server? A DMZ in itself is more a safe practice to exposing the internet to devices than something that you specifically configure or switch on. The big point about having a DMZ is if it gets hacked that the DMZ will not be able to access other parts of the network and cause further security breaches.
      As for port forwarding I will be creating videos on that in my MTCNA course that is free on UA-cam. I suspect that the Port Fowarding videos will be up in the next 3 weeks or so as I am sticking with a schedule to upload content. What exactly are you trying to accomplish or what isn't working?

      @@TheNetworkBerg first I’d like to thank you for replying, for some reason cod won’t allow me open nat type in order to play we’re I don’t get lag issues .. it also gives this ole dog a bit of advantage against the more faster shooters by a few seconds. I was literally returning this router , it got the best of me this weekend trying to figure out how to simply do either or … also I’m the noobiest of noobs and so it’s hard on Reddit becouse one one side I get the really cool people who try to help me , but their speaking another language to me basically lol cause I really need help …. Or I find the one dude who is just an Ass hole basically calling me dumb lol ( which in this case admittedly I am ) I really struggled with this

    A QoS suggestion, lower the music a bit, or leave it out entirely. it's a bit distracting

      I am interested in your opinion though, why do you believe you need Fast Track in order for Simple Queues to work?
