Hi, at what point did you decide to study or learn openings, like the French? How did you go about doing that? Thanks, great video . . . Sharon

I was interested in openings from around 7-800 forward, mostly learned just from watching a lot of videos!

How do you have the board transparent like that??

Why do you say 'remove pawn tension'? What if there is no reason to? I'm around 1700-1800 and I was wondering about this advice. Keep going with the content.

I’m adding this to my video idea list!

Remember she's adapting her style of play to her opponents. And I seem to remember hearing her say that, for lower elo players, they have a harder time thinking about multiple threats at once. By removing the tension right away they don't have to think about it anymore and they can focus better on the rest. At 1700-1800 elo, I doubt this advice is useful to you.

@@blizzard2099 I understand this perspective, but the downside is that you trod towards an endgame which becomes a coin flip.

How in the world can you say Zero to Hero, when all you do is play beginners that are rated 1600 points lower than you??!! Come on at least play 1600 and up for your speed runs!

Hi! This is an instructive beginner speedrun. A stronger player (in this case, me) starts an alt account at a much lower rating in order to explain their thought process to benefit viewers who are around that level. Other chess content creators like Daniel Naroditsky have done similar series in the past, albeit starting a bit higher on the rating ladder since he is a GM and I'm not :) I titled my series "Zero to Hero" since we are starting at the beginner level. Hope this helps!

She can say zero to hero because she’s starting at zero.

Why would you start a Speedrun at 1600??

My point is that you all are not really learning much if anything, from someone supposed to be rated "2000". If all they are doing is playing 400 rated players. You would learn much more if she played higher rated players. It's just like studying simple chess puzzles that are one or two moves. Once you study the hard puzzles that are three to six move deep. You learn so much more. I know maybe most of you are beginners, but you still learn so much with playing way better players than you and study hard chess puzzles. Teaches you how to think at the advanced and higher levels.

@@eriksmith3245 You can learn from watching a very strong player play any elo. Hikaru has a very long video of him playing 500s. The point of this series, like any other speed run is to start at the noob level and play all the way up to the higher rated players. Tons of chess content creators have done this exact thing. She’s not going to be playing 400s for long. If you don’t like it, don’t watch.
