Obregón Sonora, y Cajeme es el municipio de la ciudad, ademas si viniste en los meces de Abril o Mayo durante el día y en entre semana veras que se ve como si fuera pueblo fantasma, ya que normalmente salimos en la tarde ya que baja el sol, debido al clima caluroso que tenemos en esta región en meces de mayor temperatura llegamos a los 45° Grados, este pueblo llamado Cocorit está en proceso de ser pueblo mágico, tiene mucha cultura 116 años desde que fue fundado, y en la semana santa la tribu Yaqui la celebran muy peculiar y bonita tienes que vivirlo, de esto no encontraras documental ya que tienen una fuerte regla de no difundirla en camaras, pero vale la pena vivirla esto lo hacen en territorio Yaqui el cual no acudiste David hay mas que mostrar. Por cierto la casa azul cuenta la leyenda que asustan y en una ventana aparece una mujer, podría seguir contándoles pero eso se los cuento en mi canal🤗 ▼ vidIQ badge

Hi, David! I loved this unusual video and seeing the deserted towns of Cocorit and Esperanza! (It was like an episode of 'Twilight Zone' with no people anywhere.) Who else would show us such places besides David! I loved seeing the drone shots, the spectacular colorful murals with the birds and Yaqui abues, the Yaqui tree carving, the beautiful cacti and blooming plants, and watching you enjoy that obispo! I loved hearing you greet the abues and also loved seeing the mint red Ford Mercury in Obregon near the end! Carlos Castaneda wrote about a dozen of fictional books about Yaqui indigenous Mexican shamanism knowledge featuring a character known as Don Juan. The Native American Pueblo Indians in New Mexico also have deer dances which are endearing to them. When a grandson shoots his first deer they have a big 'deer dinner' in the grandson's and deer's honor. The abue of the family is presented with the cooked deer head, she picks off and eats all of the meat and the eyes, and the head carcass is placed in a basket of corn meal in an East window to feed the sacrificed deer. The grandson will later return the deer head to the location where he found it. Your usual humour was brilliant! 'My grandmother used to have a yellow canary called Jerry, it's dead now and so is she'... 'Mexi-dogs'... 'They don't have any Carne Asada'... 'And I wouldn't have slept like a crack whore or a newborn baby'... BRILLIANT!!!

I was today eating breakfast at El Rincón Encantado. I live in both countries, USA and Mexico, Cd Obregón and that restaurant is, so far the best restaurant I am been . Just amazing!!! Gracias por mostrar al mundo esta parte de Mexico.

Great video! Sonora becomes a whole ghost place during summer mornings and afternoons cuz of the heat. It definitely comes back to life close to the sunset hours, just not on mondays hahaha.
These slow burn videos that you say are a disaster are the best ones. Because nothing is happening, it all seems more natural and the cinematography seems that much better.

Re El Salvador I've actually thought a number of times about visiting, but never got around to it. I've been to Guatemala and Belize but nowhere else in Central. At least for this year, I've had my fill of Latin America, but hopeful for El Salvador one day! Oh and I've been to Long Beach!
Hay más movimiento de personas en Cd. Obregón, Cocorit, en la tarde noche cuando el sol no está tan fuerte. Por ejemplo en la Laguna del Nainarí, va mucha gente a caminar, hacer ejercicio, tomar un coco preparado o Tostitos preparados ( recomendable ). La actividad económica de aquí es la agricultura, así para un agricultor el día comienza de las 3:00 am. de la mañana a las 11:00 am, pudiera tener otra salida a las 4:00 pm. Cómo entre 5:00 o 6:00 pm. la gente va a realizar actividades recreativas. Si tiene hambre puede hablar a la carnicería San Carlos y hacer un pedido de carne y solicitar que ahí mismo le asen la carne, también venden, el guacamole, tortillas, cebollitas asadas, pollo a la mostaza y lo que es muy rico también son las panelitas de los Aceves, es un queso muy bueno que solo lo encuentra aquí y el pedido se lo pueden llevar a domicilio, en la calle Coahuila entre las calles de Ignacio Comonfort y hermanos Talamante ( el asado de carne termina a las 4:00 pm. ) Para el desayuno si tiene hambre están abiertos los burritos de la 5, (con un burrito de la 5 Pueden comer 2 personas, los preparan con tortilla de harina ) Calle Sinaloa 735, Centro, Urb. No. 1, 85000 Cd Obregón, Son. o los tacos de la 6 que son los famosos tacos de aire, o si quiere mariscos ricos locales puede ir a la calle de 85120, Yukujimari, Cd Obregón, Son. A los Mariscos el güero de 10:00 am. a 4:00 pm. O puede ir a la Cahuamanta las Palmas que está en la calle Jalisco y paseo las palmas en Villa Fontana ( creo que la ruta 3 lo deja en frente ) pero si va para la Cahuamanta sería temprano porque ya entre 12:00 y 13:00 hrs. Se les termina todo por lo rico que está. O si está en el centro puede ir a la tortería: La Pasadita, venden unas tortas de carne de puerco muy ricas. Ya en la tarde noche se usa ir a los taquitos de carne, asada a los hot dogs o a alguna cenaduria. Los taquitos de los bomberos están buenos que están entre las calles de Chihuahua y 6 de abril y en frente venden hot dogs, ahí se ponen las carreritas fuera del ITSON y en frente de los bomberos, en las calles Jalisco y 400 se pone afuera de un extra a vender tamales de chicharrón, verduras, carne, Elote, Rajas con queso, como de 5:00pm. a 7:00pm. Están aproximadamente porque se acaban rápido sobretodo los tamales de chicharrón y verdura, también hay hot dogs jumbo, birria, tacos de cabeza, Esos son lugares ricos, con higiene y nunca nos han caído mal al estómago comer ahí.

Los pueblos del norte. durante el dia estan solitarios. La gente aparece al esconderse el sol. Tambien porque muchos jovenes emigran a los USA. Pero los pueblos del norte de mexico. Tambien tienen gran su magia e historia. Muy buen video
Dont feel bad David I didnt think your video was a disaster, not many toutubers go to Cocorit. in San Carlos go to Tetakawi peak, Los Algodones beach, hotel Marinaterra where all the yatchs are a nice marina. Restaurants, go to Los arbolitos restaurant (nice ocean view) , hambirguers and Jax Snax restaurant. all kinds of food. there is a great coffe place Meri Meri with a green bicycle outside. restaurants at the end of San Carlos Soggys (reggae band and SUNSET restaurant.Pease go on saturday and sunset, many geingos there and DONT miss the sunset on the beach, best in the world according to National Geographic.
Some of those things are on my list amigo! I won't be able to include everything obviously LOL. And yes I'm filming that one tomorrow (Saturday). I'll avoid the gringos as always jaja

It's not a disaster though as I wouldn't have been allowed to film in the museum anyway. I'd rather explore and get lost! I've always found no day is good for food, whether it's Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday morning afternoon or evening, everything is usually closed lol
Estuviste tan cerca de mi pueblito aún más pequeño donde realmente no hay nada para turistas pero probablemente probarias las mejores empanadas de calabaza, eso sí, por ser despoblado difícil acceder a un autobús jajaja
The little town of Coconut was founded in 1617 , so it existed even before the United States as a country. Is a beautiful little town which has turned into an artist town. If you noticed all the bird murals and the frog and lizard sculptures. You might think the town is empty but is because we the locals (I live in Obregon) usually don't come out during the hotter hours (12 -4pm). After that it turns into a little tourist town with many cafes around where you can get very nice food , ice cream or "raspados" shaved ice, and perfect to meet friends. I recommend the Yaqui museum so you'll become familiar with the Yaqui town. Esperanza is a newer town and is also small and nice. I recommend the "birria" is one of the best.
The obispos were excellent. I love raspados too especially with caramel. Perfect for a hot day! Just watch out for brain freeze jaja. The artwork is top tier, it's amazing how it's painted as it seems so real with texture and layering. The museum was unfortunately closed, I even went there before the closing time on the sign, but I most likely would have been prohibited from filming anything anyway as in most Mexican museums. I was in Esperanza around 5pm but still everything was closed, but it's ok there's plenty of food coming soon! Oh and yes I absolutely agree about birria for anyone who hasn't had it. My favorite was in Jerez de García Salinas in Zacatecas. Small towns and mágicos varieties tend to be much better in my experience.
Cocorit is always quiet, the crowdes day and more in this time of the year is saturdays past 5 and sundays, you can get tortillas de harina sobaqueras and a burrito of carne con chile, also eat tacos de cabeza in Calle Allende in Obregon
All of the street art that you see there is from a municipal art proyect called "alas en mi Pueblo" from a renounced artist and people contributed with their house facades. You can also find the Museo de los Yaquis in Cocorit and Raspados Obispo where vanilla is the best. also ask for the Helado de Pitaya
I love raspados! Last year in Concordia, Sinaloa, I had a caramel one. So good when there is mucho calor! Jaja The quiet aspect was actually what I liked. Sometimes I feel like places like this at weekends can get too noisy with children etc, so it was nice to stroll around Cócorit on a quiet Monday. I thought the artwork was spectacular. I forgot to mention that my sister used to paint watercolour paintings often of scenery and animals like birds and cats. The quality of the artwork in Cócorit really reminded me of that.
@@davidostrowski679 so you said at the ending of the video that you are headed to Guaymas and San Carlos (one of my favourite beaches in the world) Mexico has the best beacheas if I may say, Ok For Food: Mariscos El Rey and ask for Pulpo a las brasas (grilled octopus this one is soooo good) or go to La Manga, you need a car to get there and I recommend the plate that has all of the different kind of shrimp, as an entrie ask for manitas de jaiba and grilled fish is always amazing. You can rent a yatch for $1000 pesos and you will need to wake up early if you want to see dolphins and snorkle also go to playa algodones, get your ceviche bought to go at Los Arbolitos and your cooler with a six pack of coronas and rent a space and a chair, later on music will come a long. If you stay for the whole weekend you can also make reservations at the Museo de perlas del mar de cortes (opes at 9 am and until 1 pm) these si a special place where they cultivate natural pearls and these ones as everything in mexico are quite special Hope this helps ;)
Hey thanks but I literally did none of those things lol. I only had one day in San Carlos and filming takes a long time, plus a lot of food places I could not film in due to copyrighted music (had the same problem in Mazatlán, Acapulco and Vallarta). Unfortunately these things don't really work for a video, if only I had more time! I don't have a car also and as a full-time traveler I can't afford dolphins lol. BUT I had a great time though haha. I really went for drone shots, the Mirador and the moon-like landscapes. The Guaymas video is going to be more food based though. I'll remember these things for the future though!
Maybe you were meant to arrive in this pueblito in Sonora when its streets were abandoned to the midday sun and everything was closed so your memory could do a little dance. Better to remember the bird murals - the one in bas-relief seemed memorable to me - and the obispos. The neveria was open! It was on stage. If the bishop's miter were cherry instead of mango-pineapple, you could call it a Santa. Cócorit seems to be a small town with style. From benches to OXXO. That was open too...

It's what you do. Reality and love. Now I'm not an expert on Bruce Chatwin, another famous British traveler, nor do I know much about knickers, nor - may I add - am I very into creating controversy unless it's in a bar and light - but I think your way of writing about Mexico would have put poor Chatwin's knickers in a twist. You might dismiss the minor theme of being happier about Mexi-dogs. Surely we become wiser with age and - for you - travel. You have helped me accept Brutalist architecture more than I did. The common ground we have is the amazing recording of our lives in towns and cities. Like me you enjoy the country but it's not your thing. Like the pretty flowers and their vibrant colors, nature must ask for permission to provide joy. You're funny. And humor is like a magenta flower. Your love of angel cats or puppies evinces this love. I wish your interest in churches would engender more interest in why they were built. But aside from that, your downs about Mexico would make Chatwin's ups look tired. Not affecte he. Just tired sometimes before he began. Was he too concerned with the sound of his words? I do not think I an very far from the truth when I say Esperanza is where taquitos de carne asada were “invented”. From there the whole country of Mexico and the US grew into a very popular dish.

No se porque dices que Esperanza, Sonora.México, es un pueblo pacífico. Di la verdad es un pueblo con mucha violencia, junto con CD. Obregón, Sonora.México. Al día matan de 6 a 7 personas diarias. Cuánto te pagaron por mal informar. Cd. Obregón, Sonora.México, está dentro de los primeros lugares de violencia en el mi mundo.

Absolutely great videos. I love your authenticity. Back in the 90's I traveled a lot through Mexico by bus. I love these little towns. I'm married now to a Salvadoran woman. It's a great country. Have you thought about going there?

Hey David (great name of course!), thanks for the feedback! I thought this video would end up crap but it turned out ok! Re El Salvador I've actually thought a number of times about visiting, but never got around to it. I've been to Guatemala and Belize but nowhere else in Central. At least for this year, I've had my fill of Latin America, but hopeful for El Salvador one day! Oh and I've been to Long Beach!

Hay más movimiento de personas en Cd. Obregón, Cocorit, en la tarde noche cuando el sol no está tan fuerte. Por ejemplo en la Laguna del Nainarí, va mucha gente a caminar, hacer ejercicio, tomar un coco preparado o Tostitos preparados ( recomendable ). La actividad económica de aquí es la agricultura, así para un agricultor el día comienza de las 3:00 am. de la mañana a las 11:00 am, pudiera tener otra salida a las 4:00 pm. Cómo entre 5:00 o 6:00 pm. la gente va a realizar actividades recreativas. Si tiene hambre puede hablar a la carnicería San Carlos y hacer un pedido de carne y solicitar que ahí mismo le asen la carne, también venden, el guacamole, tortillas, cebollitas asadas, pollo a la mostaza y lo que es muy rico también son las panelitas de los Aceves, es un queso muy bueno que solo lo encuentra aquí y el pedido se lo pueden llevar a domicilio, en la calle Coahuila entre las calles de Ignacio Comonfort y hermanos Talamante ( el asado de carne termina a las 4:00 pm. ) Para el desayuno si tiene hambre están abiertos los burritos de la 5, (con un burrito de la 5 Pueden comer 2 personas, los preparan con tortilla de harina ) Calle Sinaloa 735, Centro, Urb. No. 1, 85000 Cd Obregón, Son. o los tacos de la 6 que son los famosos tacos de aire, o si quiere mariscos ricos locales puede ir a la calle de 85120, Yukujimari, Cd Obregón, Son. A los Mariscos el güero de 10:00 am. a 4:00 pm. O puede ir a la Cahuamanta las Palmas que está en la calle Jalisco y paseo las palmas en Villa Fontana ( creo que la ruta 3 lo deja en frente ) pero si va para la Cahuamanta sería temprano porque ya entre 12:00 y 13:00 hrs. Se les termina todo por lo rico que está. O si está en el centro puede ir a la tortería: La Pasadita, venden unas tortas de carne de puerco muy ricas. Ya en la tarde noche se usa ir a los taquitos de carne, asada a los hot dogs o a alguna cenaduria. Los taquitos de los bomberos están buenos que están entre las calles de Chihuahua y 6 de abril y en frente venden hot dogs, ahí se ponen las carreritas fuera del ITSON y en frente de los bomberos, en las calles Jalisco y 400 se pone afuera de un extra a vender tamales de chicharrón, verduras, carne, Elote, Rajas con queso, como de 5:00pm. a 7:00pm. Están aproximadamente porque se acaban rápido sobretodo los tamales de chicharrón y verdura, también hay hot dogs jumbo, birria, tacos de cabeza, Esos son lugares ricos, con higiene y nunca nos han caído mal al estómago comer ahí.

Dont feel bad David I didnt think your video was a disaster, not many toutubers go to Cocorit. in San Carlos go to Tetakawi peak, Los Algodones beach, hotel Marinaterra where all the yatchs are a nice marina. Restaurants, go to Los arbolitos restaurant (nice ocean view) , hambirguers and Jax Snax restaurant. all kinds of food. there is a great coffe place Meri Meri with a green bicycle outside. restaurants at the end of San Carlos Soggys (reggae band and SUNSET restaurant.Pease go on saturday and sunset, many geingos there and DONT miss the sunset on the beach, best in the world according to National Geographic.
Some of those things are on my list amigo! I won't be able to include everything obviously LOL. And yes I'm filming that one tomorrow (Saturday). I'll avoid the gringos as always jaja

Mondays are never a good day for visiting museums or food, but can be nice if you're trying to avoid crowds of Oaxaca or CDMX.
It's not a disaster though as I wouldn't have been allowed to film in the museum anyway. I'd rather explore and get lost! I've always found no day is good for food, whether it's Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday morning afternoon or evening, everything is usually closed lol
Estuviste tan cerca de mi pueblito aún más pequeño donde realmente no hay nada para turistas pero probablemente probarias las mejores empanadas de calabaza, eso sí, por ser despoblado difícil acceder a un autobús jajaja
The little town of Coconut was founded in 1617 , so it existed even before the United States as a country. Is a beautiful little town which has turned into an artist town. If you noticed all the bird murals and the frog and lizard sculptures. You might think the town is empty but is because we the locals (I live in Obregon) usually don't come out during the hotter hours (12 -4pm). After that it turns into a little tourist town with many cafes around where you can get very nice food , ice cream or "raspados" shaved ice, and perfect to meet friends. I recommend the Yaqui museum so you'll become familiar with the Yaqui town. Esperanza is a newer town and is also small and nice. I recommend the "birria" is one of the best.
The obispos were excellent. I love raspados too especially with caramel. Perfect for a hot day! Just watch out for brain freeze jaja. The artwork is top tier, it's amazing how it's painted as it seems so real with texture and layering. The museum was unfortunately closed, I even went there before the closing time on the sign, but I most likely would have been prohibited from filming anything anyway as in most Mexican museums. I was in Esperanza around 5pm but still everything was closed, but it's ok there's plenty of food coming soon!
Oh and yes I absolutely agree about birria for anyone who hasn't had it. My favorite was in Jerez de García Salinas in Zacatecas. Small towns and mágicos varieties tend to be much better in my experience.

Cocorit is always quiet, the crowdes day and more in this time of the year is saturdays past 5 and sundays, you can get tortillas de harina sobaqueras and a burrito of carne con chile, also eat tacos de cabeza in Calle Allende in Obregon
in Cocorit have breakfast at Los Chanates
All of the street art that you see there is from a municipal art proyect called "alas en mi Pueblo" from a renounced artist and people contributed with their house facades.
You can also find the Museo de los Yaquis in Cocorit and Raspados Obispo where vanilla is the best. also ask for the Helado de Pitaya
I love raspados! Last year in Concordia, Sinaloa, I had a caramel one. So good when there is mucho calor! Jaja
The quiet aspect was actually what I liked. Sometimes I feel like places like this at weekends can get too noisy with children etc, so it was nice to stroll around Cócorit on a quiet Monday. I thought the artwork was spectacular. I forgot to mention that my sister used to paint watercolour paintings often of scenery and animals like birds and cats. The quality of the artwork in Cócorit really reminded me of that.

For Food: Mariscos El Rey and ask for Pulpo a las brasas (grilled octopus this one is soooo good) or go to La Manga, you need a car to get there and I recommend the plate that has all of the different kind of shrimp, as an entrie ask for manitas de jaiba and grilled fish is always amazing.
You can rent a yatch for $1000 pesos and you will need to wake up early if you want to see dolphins and snorkle
also go to playa algodones, get your ceviche bought to go at Los Arbolitos and your cooler with a six pack of coronas and rent a space and a chair, later on music will come a long.
If you stay for the whole weekend you can also make reservations at the Museo de perlas del mar de cortes (opes at 9 am and until 1 pm) these si a special place where they cultivate natural pearls and these ones as everything in mexico are quite special

Hey thanks but I literally did none of those things lol. I only had one day in San Carlos and filming takes a long time, plus a lot of food places I could not film in due to copyrighted music (had the same problem in Mazatlán, Acapulco and Vallarta). Unfortunately these things don't really work for a video, if only I had more time! I don't have a car also and as a full-time traveler I can't afford dolphins lol. BUT I had a great time though haha. I really went for drone shots, the Mirador and the moon-like landscapes. The Guaymas video is going to be more food based though. I'll remember these things for the future though!

Maybe you were meant to arrive in this pueblito in Sonora when its streets were abandoned to the midday sun and everything was closed so your memory could do a little dance. Better to remember the bird murals - the one in bas-relief seemed memorable to me - and the obispos. The neveria was open! It was on stage. If the bishop's miter were cherry instead of mango-pineapple, you could call it a Santa. Cócorit seems to be a small town with style. From benches to OXXO. That was open too...

You speak and write well. Your humor is your armor. I'd sure read your book about Mexico. From you, not just the UA-cam voice you mentioned which really can't be that far from reality. It's what you do. Reality and love.
Now I'm not an expert on Bruce Chatwin, another famous British traveler, nor do I know much about knickers, nor - may I add - am I very into creating controversy unless it's in a bar and light - but I think your way of writing about Mexico would have put poor Chatwin's knickers in a twist.
You might dismiss the minor theme of being happier about Mexi-dogs. Surely we become wiser with age and - for you - travel. You have helped me accept Brutalist architecture more than I did. The common ground we have is the amazing recording of our lives in towns and cities. Like me you enjoy the country but it's not your thing. Like the pretty flowers and their vibrant colors, nature must ask for permission to provide joy. You're funny. And humor is like a magenta flower. Your love of angel cats or puppies evinces this love. I wish your interest in churches would engender more interest in why they were built. But aside from that, your downs about Mexico would make Chatwin's ups look tired. Not affecte he. Just tired sometimes before he began. Was he too concerned with the sound of his words? So we might think about the world. Your humor is your armor!

Firstly how do you know I missed it and secondly no thanks, I've been to countless Pueblos mágicos and most are purely tourist traps full of expats with the exception of Real del Monte and Real de Catorce... give me Obregón or Torreón any day

I do not think I an very far from the truth when I say Esperanza is where taquitos de carne asada were “invented”. From there the whole country of Mexico and the US grew into a very popular dish.

No se porque dices que Esperanza, Sonora.México, es un pueblo pacífico. Di la verdad es un pueblo con mucha violencia, junto con CD. Obregón, Sonora.México. Al día matan de 6 a 7 personas diarias. Cuánto te pagaron por mal informar. Cd. Obregón, Sonora.México, está dentro de los primeros lugares de violencia en el mi mundo.
