Hey! I marched BD as a mello in 2018-2019, aged out 2021. Thanks so much for posting this. This organization and activity changed my life in ways I cannot realistically put into words. Much love to every vet from BD, the decades of shows before me inspired me in every way to be better.
BD hasn't lost back to back seasons since 2005-2006. Even when they take their occasional second place, they still win cause they are winning it all the following year. Unbelievable!
TBF, every decade since the mid '70s has been a decent BD decade. They are just that consistent. Even in the '80s, when the Cadets were peaking, BD won three championships and never placed below 4th.
@The_legend27 I doubt Crown cause they put too much emphasis on brass. To beat BD "CONSISTENTLY " (that's the keyword)................you gotta be strong in all captions across the board. "IF" my beloved Devils were to take a step back, I see the Bluecoats as the Heir to the throne. Bloo has started to learn to max out the sheets in all captions and play the complete game instead of being masters in one or two captions. I say it every year...........Crown can consistently be #1 in brass..........as long as BD is consistently DCI Champs. DO IT UP DEVILS!!!!
The Blue Devils win every year because... The Sound never changes. They perfect every show- boring or not. Their shows have never reflected or portrayed death as entertainment like so my many other corps. The drumline never overpowers the hornline. They believe in running a Superior (business) keeping (Legacy) in mind.

Most successful decade for any corps ever! They just seem to outdo themselves all the time. It sure would be nice to see a similar video posts for all the Repeat DCI winners over the years, and maybe a compilation of all the one-time only winners. There were a lot of great 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place corps too. I would love to see one for Vanguard, Cadets, And Cavies.
The Blue Devils have been either first or second place since 2006. They hold the most world championship titles. They are the owners of the highest score in DCI history. There is a VERY strong case that can be made that the Blue Devils are the best drum corps in DCI.
My man…the case is closed. They’re the Yankees of drum corps. No one else is close. (And this is coming from someone who would desperately love to see someone else come close…especially that corps just down the road from them!)
@@imhappy5266 technically the closest they got was 2008-2010, they only lost one show in those 3 years and that was finals 2008 (to Phantom's Spartacus). I honestly think DCI politics prevents any more 3peats, the last time was the Cavaliers 2000-2002, but even they tied the Cadets in 2000 so it wasn't uncontested. So there's really only one single uncontested 3peat in DCI history, and that was of course the Cadets in the 80s
I saw BD live with a group of my brother, girlfriend, and best friend in 76 along with many other great corps at the Hershey, PA exhibition show the day after BD's 1st DCI finals win at Philly. Watched same best friend perform with DCI Champions 78 Vanguard and 79 BD at DCI East. It was my good fortune to have been a BD member 80 and 81.
