I test drove both cars, in the end I bought a Honda city V.. Had it for a six months now still as happy as the first day.

As an owner of the grs, I agree with martin doon sa sana may lagayan pa ng stuff sa front. Lalo pag nakaandroid auto sinced wired nga. Pero simple remedy naman is just have a phone holder (i use a magnetic holder para clutter free) or use wireless android auto. Yes. No rear vents sa likod, pero since automatic yung AC system, believe me, yung nasa likod pa nagpapahina ng aircon. And handling is very good compared sa other vios variants. Ganda rin ng brakes and pedal response.
My only "sana" about the grs is that more toys sana like usb ports sa likod and armrest with cupholders.
For the power, wala naman problema kahit puno at may cargo. Fuel efficiency 10km per L city drive.
Other than that, im satisfied since this is my first car.
If you ask me, if city rs, or grs, if kaya mo naman yung price difference, mag city rs ka na.Better overall sa tech and power. If budgetarian ka like me at ayaw mamomroblema sa parts in the future but at the same time ayw mo ng may kamuka ka bawat kanto, grs na.

Grs owner. Sa gilid ng handbrake, sa right, dun ko nilalagay phone if may cable. Ayos naman. Android auto or apple play sobrang efficient.
One thing na hindi nabanggit dito ay naka disc brakes both front and rear sa Vios GR-S (even sa G Variant), while sa City drum brakes sa rear kahit sa RS variant.
Might be a big deal for others.

Agree. Vios has disc brakes all around 4 wheels plus it has more airbags, has better ground clearance and approach angle. Only daily drivers who are family-oriented know the benefits of these aspects in the Philippine setting (city floods, monster humps, crazy approach angles of parking spaces, accident-prone roads). And of course, availability of parts. Yung tipong pag nahulogan ng buko windshield mo at nabasag, kampante ka na merong supply for replacement. Pag may sira-ulong sasagi sa side-mirror assembly mo at nabaklas, o binasag headlight assembly mo ng tambay sa may kanto, o kaya'y nabangga ka at nasira radiator mo at fan. Mga ganitong bagay nangyayari kahit anong ingat naten. But absent these unfortunate events, Hondas are refined and performance-oriented. You can never go wrong on both Honda and Toyota when it comes to reliability and quality. Yung mga extra accessories like lack of extra aircon vents is not necessarily bad, it is just people don't know how to use the car aircon. You don't point the vents directly at the passengers. It's job is to cool the AIR in the cabin, not the people directly. It is the cooled AIR circulating around the cabin and cools ALL the passengers. Direct your center vents at the center ceiling of the car and wait your rear passengers complain of the cold aircon in no time. In the end, sa preference nalang talaga magkaalaman. :)
Based on features and comfort, I prefer Honda City. Perhaps I will get the top of the line for added features and safety.
Should be the GR-S vs RS, then see if the 43k difference is worth it

I will choose city because of the engine, and interior may AC pa sa likod.. although mas nagagandahan ko yung 2019 na city pag dating sa exterior, pero pwede naman i upgrade yan sa city V e basta for me importante makina at handling and comfort when buying a car, lalo na malamig talaga ang AC ng city.
I could say that night and day tlaga ang difference between the Vios and Honda City. Regardless of the variants. I drove the latest model Vios and City. The City's ride quality and comfort greatly surpasses the Vios, also the City has a high revving naturally aspirated iVTEC engine which is far more powerful over it competitors. Though the Vios design is on the sporty side specifically on the front, but looks isn't everything. 😁 ✌️
Id go for the honda in performance but in gas consumption the vios of course

How come you compare the GR-S with the V variant? It should have been the RS because they're both top of the line variant. It's not always the price you must compare, it's the car's specs and design. 😐

mas pogi ang city, clean look compared kay vios. and isa pa. pag sinabi mong vios kasi is philippine taxi eh. medyo andun na ung branding ni vios.
totoo din yan about steering. mas mabigat kay vios pero hindi naman sobrang as in. pero if you want comfort while driving, tipong chill lang and madali imaniobra, if sanay ka mag onehand driving - go for city.
interior: mas okay city, I drove both vios and city. comfortability both driver and passengers seat, mas lamang si city. mas maluwag sa likod.
exterior: honda city bias ko. si vios medyo pango ang looks, city is manguso and matangos. Mas sleek tignan. mas pogi. check nyo sa 33:56 part ng video
sporty look: if ipapa customize mo pareho like papalagyan mo ng typeR body kits. sobrang pogi pagdting kay city. hands down sa sporty look ng city if papalagyan ng typeR body kits.

hindi lang rear a/c vents yan, meron din floor a/c vents for the rear ang City. tapos yung City meron cruise control. honda engines are the best, period. this isn't really a fair fight, the City is obviously better at this price point. but of course the base model vioses are cheaper.

I wish Toyota would do away with the rough driving when it's the S models. I have a Corolla S & when it goes through potholes, the ride is very jarring. Other than that wala naman complains & problems.

GM6 ECVT owner here, umaabot ako ng 22 km/l sa highway if naka tambay ka lang sa 1.5k rpm (70 to 80kph depends on incline or decline angle of road)... if 14- 15 km/l lang yung highway drive nyo sir, try resetting the trip meter ( i do it every time nag ga gas ako) para laging real-time ang calculation ng meter and kahit i cross mo sya dun sa manual calculation, 95% accurate sya....

4:02 exactly me first time opening vios xe hood after a long drive. That stand shaft was HOT as heck..
maybe because the shaft is placed diagonally above the engine, not commonly hidden above the front grills.

It’s because of reliability, if taxi goes with the vios line, they know how to beat up longer hours, traffic, pushing it to the limits with the engine, then doon ako sa subok Na.

@@gunnarrubio ...2 yrs old na tong 2020 honda city VX-Navi ko pero walang ganyan sa sinasabi mo. Baka walang regular pms lang yang mga nasa “tsismis” mong nasagap. Nawasak na nga itong likod nito sa bangga ng Elf truck nabalik nalang sa brand new na insure using original replacement body panels and yet walang ganyan ang steering rack nito.
Solid tibay ang Honda City at iba quality ng steel nila.
