Rachel, oh my word. How beautiful everything turned out! I lost my heart to the cake stand that you painted with Aviary. It is simplicity in itself and yet so elegant. Love it!! All of the cake stands turned out looking fantastic and the floral holder, spot on for the transfer. That little bowl tickled me with being uncooperative. Gosh, I get so frustrated sometimes when something fights me like that. Watching it though, I can see the humor of something not wanting to accept your vision for it. LOL Another great job on ALL your projects and the shop looks so inviting. Have a good week my friend and will see you on Friday!!
Lol - that little bowl was just determined to thwart my efforts . . . thank goodness it is still cute, haha. I'm glad you liked the aviary cake plate - it wasn't what I had originally planned for that one either, but I like how it came out in the end. Thank you so much - see you Friday!! :)
Hi Rachel, Iam a sucker for a cake plate . So I’ll go with All the cake plates as my favorite this week. Your black bowl frustration, lol , I hate when that happens. I had a small trinket pot with a lid. No matter what I did it’s end result was not happening. Back in the stash it went a few times and I finally said “ Ok! Your just going to be a creamy white trinket pot with a lid” lol😆 End result it was lovely just as your black bowl is. I guess sometimes we need to just paint it and call it a day. Haha. See ya Fri 👋
I forget sometimes that it's perfectly acceptable to just paint something and not "fussy it up" too much, haha. I do like the little bowl just plain, and it's nice because it can be used for whatever - all year. :) Thank you - I'm a sucker for a good cake plate, too!!
Loved all your projects! The deer stand is beautiful! The black bowl would look so good with some Lindt chocolate in it! Have a good day can’t wait until Friday❣️
*Don't forget, Rachel, that Big Top is FOOD SAFE, which is another excellent reason to use Big Top on cake stands, lazy susans, or anything that will be used to serve or display food. 💜*
I just have to be careful about actually telling people it is food safe because although it is as close to food safe as you can get, DIY hasn't invested the money to have it certified as food safe. Like things being organic but not actually "certified organic", lol. But yes, once it's cured it is good to go. :)
@@theeclecticcottagespokane *I completely understand, Rachel, about why you need to choose your words wisely when it comes to stating Big Top is food safe. It's so sad that we have become such a litigious society 😔 that the costs for certification of products as being food safe are prohibitive‼️😥*
I worked on a wooden tree today that refused to take a transfer. Ruined the transfer, and I started over. Sometimes it just happens I guess. Love all your projects Rachel
Thank you!! And I have no idea. I have put transfers on Little Black Dress a million times (well, at least a few, haha) and I've never had that problem until now . . . lol. Thank goodness it was just a little bowl!! :)
I'm glad you loved them! And once Big Top has cured (about 30 days) it's about as safe as it gets. It just isn't "certified" food safe, so I can't advertise it as such.
I JUST scored this transfer on eBay for $15 and received it yesterday! Thank you so much for the inspiration... Beautiful ideas ❤ I also scored the IOD Christmas Valley transfer from last year on eBay but it was quite a bit more pricey 😮
I am thinking it must just be something in the pigment of the paint? I'm just glad it was a simple little bowl that I had the trouble with, lol!! Anyway - thank you!! :)
I haven't had much trouble with transfers but my older ones sometimes don't stick or don't want to be burnished down, but not all so I dont know if it's the age of the transfer or the paint I've used. I have figured out not to use wax before applying a transfer!! I love the cake stand with the stag on the front!
I don't know what happens with the transfers sometimes - my theory is that once they have come in contact with the air for too long they "dry out" somewhat . . . . . but who knows. I have trouble every once in a while and it's frustrating, but I suppose it's just part of the process, lol. Glad you liked the stag plate! It is definitely my favorite. Thank you!!
Hi, loves theses pieces. You know I've seen several videos where they use little black dress paint color and they have the same problem. There might be something in the pigment that causes the transfer not to stick. Thanks for sharing !
I'm glad you liked them! Thank you!! And I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has had this issue with Little Black Dress - you're probably right about there being something in the paint that just doesn't work well for transfers! :)
Love the Stag head cake plate. The black bowl would look awesome filled with mixed nuts!!! Is there a way to use a food grade sealer on the cake plates? Great job! Did you figure out WHY they wouldn't stick? TFS 😊❤🦌
Thank you! I have no idea why the black bowl gave me issue, honestly haha. And the sealer I used is about as safe as it gets once it's cured for 30 days (cure time for basically all sealers). It isn't "certified" food safe, though, so I can't advertise it as being "food safe".
Glad you liked them! Thank you! And it's a whole labeling process for any product to be labeled food safe. Big Top, Clear Patina and Wax are as close as you will get to food safe, but you can't label it as such.

Love your videos. Watching from central fl. Orlando area. Just wanting to know if diy big top sealant is food safe for things like cake stand in this video. I have some platters I would love to put Christmas transfers on but need to make them still usable.
Thank you so much! And while Big Top isn't labelled food safe, it is as food safe as you can get once it has fully cured (about 30 days). I wouldn't personally be afraid to put food on something sealed with it, but I can completely understand any hesitation.
Completely up to whoever buys them. Although Big Top isn't "certified" food safe, it's about as safe as it gets, especially once it's cured. Of course you wouldn't want to wash these in the dishwasher or stick them in a sink of hot soapy water, so I would still be careful as to what someone put on them, lol.

That Deer Design is Beautiful, I Love it
I'm glad you liked it! Thank you!
My favorite is the deer cake stand. Although the black bowl didn't turn out the way you invisioned it, I love it. It's beautiful.
Well, I'm glad you liked the little bowl haha. I do think it's cute. Irritating . . . but cute! haha!! Thank you!!
Very cute!
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful transfer set. I love the cake stand with the stag's head and holly either side.
Thanks so much!
Nice job! Carol from California
Thanks so much!
I love them all! So pretty! The black bowl would look beautiful with vintage Christmas balls in it!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! And yes it would!! :)

Thank you! You too!

Just make sure people know it's only food safe once it cures which takes about 30 days!
Thank you, I was wondering.

Your hair is very lovely at new length! Love your projects!
Thank you! :)

What paint did you use?
Thank you so much! I am glad I'm not alone, haha. So frustrating when stuff like that happens, though!!
I liked the deer cake plate. Love your channel. Wish I could visit your shop! I live in Texss.
Thank you so much! :)
So beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
I love the deer cake stand. All of your work is always great!😊
That is so kind of you to say. Thank you!
I loved all the projects today. I wonder why that bowl was so bothersome? I hate when that happens! 🙄
Thank you!! And I have no idea. I have put transfers on Little Black Dress a million times (well, at least a few, haha) and I've never had that problem until now . . . lol. Thank goodness it was just a little bowl!! :)
Love them all. Didn't realize you can put food items that was painted liquid patina.

Your shop looks so inviting!
Awe, thank you!!
Beautiful!!
Thank you! 😊
Really cute plates. Hope you get more of those transfers.
Thank you!! And unfortunately the transfers were a limited release, so they are no longer available. Darn it!!

Well, I'm glad I could be helpful! Thank you!
I'm really surprised that both stenciled wouldn't stick to the wood bowl. I wonder why. My favorite was the cake stand with the elk/deer on it.

The last one maybe if you would of put a candle stand under it
You could absolutely do that! :)
I got my order today. Sorry crafters, I think I got the last one.
