The shopping you brought back from England made me laugh. I live in France and I bring back random things too, lots of chocolate, marmite and friends bring me over those huge bags of tea which I then hand out to friends who always think that I really generous but really I have something like 3000 bags of tea. Even I can't drink that much tea! I eat my chocolate locked in the bathroom, there are some things that you don't share even with your children.
How nice of you to dedicate this video to Ms. Maria Rosaria (I guess she's the lady speaking to Carlo at 11:05). Life is so precious and tomorrow isn't promised to anyone. I am so glad that Carlo speaks to everyone he encounters... we never know how lonely some seniors can be. ❤️
Oh my goodness, I about fell out of my chair when you hoisted up that giant bag of Typhoo! All it takes is running out of something you NEEEEEEED just once, and...lesson learned!
Brought back memories how my Mum always had a large jar of pickled red cabbage when I visited home in London and I would bring back to California. 81 year old now and still yearn for a good jar of red cabbage or mustard pickle, nothing like it in California .
nicki at least for me your videos are never boring it’s interesting to see what you can buy in England love Italy but your country is gorgeous, Blessings
So I found your channel about 8 days ago cant even remember why I found you. However I've been binge watching the last year and as I'm starting my travel moodboard for 2021 im now adding Positano to that list.. once Europe is open to us in New Zealand
Loved this one! I have been watching for six months now and I love your life. Beautiful home with a tremendous garden, all the fabulous pets, a handsome, and handy husband, a beautiful home in a safe woodsy area and in a place I have wanted to live for about 25 years. It’s my dream life. Unfortunately, when I’ve had the money, I was married to a man who had no desire to even travel. Now that he’s gone, I have no money. Isn’t that the way is always goes. But following your life on video is the next best thing and makes me feel like I’m there, if only for a few minutes at a time. Thank you, Nicki. Linda C. U.S.
So lovely sharing time with you in beautiful Positano. Can those of us in the UK also take a moment to appreciate how lucky we are when it comes to shopping, especially for chocolate 🍫 !
I don't understand it, bc to me English chocolate is usually full of awful additives and very very sweet, wheras in Italy as in France you get top of the line chocolate without all the junk or sugar added. I'm really surprized. I can't live without proper tea (i get the Yorkshire tea and Japanese Sencha, whole leaf Oolong and Lapsang Soushong for cold weather) but lentils take literally 15 minutes to cook (and Italy has fantastic ecological lentils I bring back home all the time) and chocolate. It's like Americans bringing coffee to Italy... 😳 After 20 summers in Capri and travelling around what I know right off the bat I'd bring is all my needs for cooking Thai and Vietnamese, and things like buckwheat, chick pea flower, seeds, kamut, amaranth, quinoa, couscous, some middle eastern and far east spices hard to get in quantity and lots of dried blueberries and cranberries, concentrated elderflower cordial and specific things like snap bag clips and rolld of icecube bags (the kind you fill with water and simply stack in the freezer and break in one go saving so much space compared to trays), I bring a roll every time I go, haven't found them in Napoli. I'd also bring natural liquid soap from pine, and ecologocal, biodegradable detergent as most chemtech in Italy I've found is either really toxic to the environment or terribly expensive. Maple syrup and pecans was absolutely genius though! I've never found horseradish for sale so I'd definately bring that too. I usually gift my Italian friends with big bags of porcini I've picked and dried myself free of cost here in Sweden. The prices are i n s a n e for them in Italy. Vacuum packed game like venison, deer, moose would be a good choice for the freezer for winter too. I always bring sweet and salty liquorice which some of my Italian friends like as well (it's a Scandinavian acquired taste, like Brits go for Marmite). I really understand the biscuits if you're English and not keen on baking. Proper English marmalade from seville oranges, rhubarb and goosberries (rhubarb is too hot to grow there I think) Chocolate confused me though I'm a chocolate lover, sorry. It's quite interesting what expats have cravings for! 😊
So many of the same things we always bring back from the UK (to Canada), club bars, penguins, teabags, bisto gravy, various pantry food items, toiletries from boots, underwear from M&S the list goes on !!! Luckily we are able to buy a lot of this stuff in the general supermarkets here nowadays in the British section. Ooh not forgetting marmite!!! Loving your channel, its so uplifting and I am really enjoying catching up and watching all the videos.
Very fun and interesting! You edit these well...thanks for sharing....your life there really is different than so many of us who live in ordinary houses in ordinary places!
i discovered your channel today and love it! i grew up in a British household in southern France so love watching other people's experiences in southern Europe!
Hi just watching this in January 2021. I was little surprised at how many every day grocery items are not available to you. That and your difficult access is the prices to be paid for living on the Amalfi Coast. Lucky you. Enjoying your channel. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Rest in Peace Maria Rosaria. Thank you for your lovely video. They are always appreciated over here in California. Luv seeing how Europeans live, love and travel, etc....hope Positano or Sorrento have good dentists....heehehe
So glad we found you this past week. We're an American couple who just retired, currently in Leicester England for 6 months visiting friends, through May. We're waiting to head to our forever home in the Campania region of Italy (Guardia Sanframondi, Benevento) once the pandemic calms a bit. We've got our very special cat (Gino) with us, and will possibly drive from Leicester down to Italy, but may fly. I'm sure the border will be interesting with Brexit in play. So this episode sparked our interest!! I'd love to see what your drive was like and how you navigated it. Sounds like you've done it more than once, so probably have some "tips". I'll search for an episode of yours as soon as I finish this one!
This wasn’t boring at all! No matter where you live, it’s always nice to have things you enjoy from your home town. But all those stairs! I will not complain about taking my packages out of the car and a few steps into the house, it’s a walk in the park compared to what you and Carlo have to do. Thanks for sharing Nicki!!
Hello...I just discovered your channel yesterday ....I visited Positano a couple of years ago and wondered about how people manage to live on cliff sides...thank you for these videos! I will be enjoying these for quite some time!
Love your videos and want your life! How lucky you are to live in such an incredible part of the world. I will be watching your life adventures and happy to be able to see your day to day life! Thank you
This reminds me of everything we send/ bring to my daughter in Croatia from the States. Reese’s chocolate, certain deodorant, certain makeup brands, shampoo, etc... as well as chocolate and candy gifts for others. Many times it is much cheaper in the States. Love your vlogs... keep them coming!
Found your videos on youtube by chance and absolutely love watching them. The lifestyle and scenery remind me of my childhood in the Azores where I grew up. I was very surprised to see how much junk food you brought from England which doesn't quite fit into the lifestyle that I've been watching with all those fresh fruits and vegetables. Anyway, stay well and thank you for sharing.
Loved this video. I used to live in Europe and I remember the chocolate. Amazing! I still miss it to this day! Love seeing what you brought back. I used to live in Ipswich England for 2 years. Loved it!
First time watcher. Love you. I enjoy looking at different products you brought back from England. No wonder you bought so many chocolates, you get exercise everyday walking up those steps. You are a beauty.
Randomly saw this video pop up today, although I started following you last year~ Amazing what we can stuff in a small car when we're trying to bring "home" back home with us. ( I drive a mini ) Loved this video, as its the randomness that makes life so grand~
LOL at your huge bag of tea bags, good for you. I love the Quality Street chocolates, which we csn get here in Canada. Loved the English chocolate bars, great memory of the treat I brought back from England when I was there in 1997. Thanks for the video loved watching your treats you brought back.
I love your constant JOY with sharing your chocolate haul! Ps- I know you’re a professional so this might not even be worth sharing- but I’ve come to realise the most safe yet efficient cleanser for my makeup brushes is what I use on my own hair- so simply shampoo and I do use a tiny bit of conditioner as well and it not only cleans them well- and safely - they smell good, and hey... it saves. Once I sorta got an understanding from exploring dermatology and ingredients- it occurred to me that my brush cleanser needed to be about what I’d use on my own head.
South Italians are super generous.. If you go visiting you always go with something (even Italians here in the states.. you never go empty handed.. even if its a bar of chocolate@ my Nonna and Dad were the most generous) and when you go on vacation it was an ordeal too of bringing back things for everyone even though you went on vacation. yep....
Love your videos, my hubby just said to me ‘we’ve just packed away our grocery shopping and now we’re watching someone unpack their shopping!’ 😂 but we just love watching you, we lived in Naples a few years ago, and plan on visiting the Amalfi next year so your videos are so interesting, thank you for sharing, and no it’s not boring, it makes you happy and that’s all that matters ♥️
Your vlogs are always so interesting! Carlo cracks me up! I understand your need for your tea, I would be the same way about my coffee! Thank you for sharing!
One thing I love about Italy are the many markets where it is possible to buy lentils, beans, etc. By weight and the seller wraps it in paper or fills the recycled bag the purchaser brings. And the conditorie where sweets and baked goods and chocolates are ready fresh with few of the chemical preservatives in packaged items to extend their life on a shelf. The plastic wrap litter is starting to choke beaches and beauty spots.
Yes, I know people miss food from their own country but I was surprised at many of the items brought back because they can be bought in Italy. For example, Italian chocolate with nuts, spray olive oil, lentils etc. Tea bags are difficult and if you have a sweet tooth for English biscuits or Terry’s or Quality Street, they are impossible to find. However, there are so many other delicious Italian ones to try. When you also consider all the Cadbury’s chocolate with palm oil and ALL the plastic wrapping, I’d prefer to buy local. IMO
You're a very interesting person nicki , you're a very English person and have a very italian life . And that mix happens naturally - think that's why your videos are enjoyable to watch . Other videos about being on the amalfi coast show a superficial tourist view but your videos are about the everyday experience . Keep doing what you're doing and yes best stash that chocolate away .
You always think that we'll think things are boring- this is not! We give a Terry's chocolate orange to each kiddo in their stocking at Christmas and I get 2 for myself lol. I only see them at Christmas time. I totally understand stocking up on things you love, when I go back "home" I do the same. It's so interesting to see the things you bring back, just in case I ever go to England. The Cornishware is gorgeous and really smart- nice to be able to pick up a piece or two or ten as needed. Again, not boring- Thank you!
I can totally relate to all the things you brought back from England. I live a great distance from the nearest Costco, so when I get the opportunity to shop there, I really load up the car!
Another great bit of time spent with you.! That was so interesting. The chocolate orange seems to be a big hit in lots of places. We have them at Christmas here in the states. And I think most people bring back familiar favorites when they travel home, I know I do. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones. ( prayers for Maria's family )
I totally enjoyed this video! You are both so sweet, your what I would wish everyone could have as a neighbor including myself, thank you for this moment. Best wishes from Canada!🇨🇦🤗
That Typhoo bag is utterly mad and no doubt a necessity! Homemade jam and porridge and 6 cans of coconut milk yum! Much of the trick with the area is carrying things. Up and down and sideways and on ones head and back.
That was so much fun... always exciting to get things from home. And so smart to be stocking up on lots of essentials. We never know what tomorrow will bring in this crazy world we now live in.. Blessings everyone..🤗
I have spent two days binging your videos they relax me they make me forget the fact we are in lockdown in Toronto. Watching Sky heading home from England. Thank you for bringing Italy memories back to me I'd so love to return someday.
First time I've ever subscribed that I can recall to a video channel it was your mentioning it at the end of one of your videos that made me realize that I should subscribe when I'm totally enthralled and enjoying what you post thank you very much Linda from Toronto
I started crying at the Quality Street chocolates, then bawled when you pulled out the zTerrys chocolate. I’m a Canadian living in Calabria, the past two years.I can relate to so much of your life. Thanks for sharing.
This was so fun to watch😊... I always bring back different oxo cubes, sage and onion stuffing mix, reggae reggae sauce, marmite, carob, Branston sandwich pickle, orange and mint clubs, ginger biscuits, chocolate orange, mince meat (for mince pies), various crisps eg thyme and chicken (my kids love) and several thousand Yorkshire breakfast tea bags (if I run out I use loose orange pekoe tea which is strong), also M&S underware.. .. And I also buy loads of first aid stuff and medicine because it is so expensive in Germany!
anyone who criticizes can F off.. these are beautiful i'm living vicariously through you@! my dream was always to live partial in Italy.. I have my Italian passport but life is hard .. my beloved parents died in the past 3 years. .My father inspired me to love italy and all things italian as he was a native sud italian. Hearing your husband in dialect reminds me alot of my dad and makes me long to watch more videos-i feel a connection and a longing to see, hear it all. my first trip to italy in 1985 was with my dad! all over italy inc. Positano Sorrento Amalfi etc and his village in the mountains of Salerno (so more south than you). Keep it up! Thank you Nicki!
Hi! Found your channel a week ago or so, it probably popped up in my feed because of all the videos I've been watching about grocery shopping in other countries the last month. Just wanted to say that I love these types of videos, and I adore your home!
The enormous bag of tiny tea bags made me laugh out loud for the first time all day! Glad you will have what you need to start the day for the foreseeable future! Plus jam from your dad and some of that nice bread and it’s a party!
It's good you drove and were able to return home with so much bounty. Even if you can buy something where you live, it is a good thing if you can get it somewhere else for much less expense. Your little dog is so cute the way she was tilting her head at your questions in the beginning of the video. I'm glad she made the trip with you and Carlo.
I loved the video! No matter where our lives take us, there are always favorites from our hometown! A nice advantage to driving your car instead of a plane flight!
That's the biggest bag of tea I've ever seen! I am English lady now living in Finland & I can totally relate to your shopping haul. I always come back loaded with English treats & teabags along with various other bits'n pieces. Going by car is a great way to shop there.... but not a sensible option for me..
I live in Egypt and always bring max luggage from UK wow if I could drive would be amazing so many things cannot get hardly anything here and if you can its like £15 for a box of kelloggs cornflakes, over £2 for heinz beans. I love your shopping video x
I love Terry’s chocolate orange. I can only find them at Christmas here in the Midwest. They are a Christmas tradition at our house. Everyone gets one in their stocking.
we ordered our last memory foam mattress online too, a king sized. wow was that a beast! plus we had to let it air out almost a week. it was very strong smelling.
Greetings from Long Island, New York just found you yesterday and Im so happy to watch a glimpse of your world there.!!! We want to come back to Positano for our 20th Wedding Anniv. I love everything about the videos I have seen.
AHH, this made me chuckle, it's funny the things you miss from home when you can't get them. I don't blame you for stocking up, I'd be the same, enjoy. X
That bag of Typhoo :)) So glad to see another one of your videos. It was interesting to see the things you brought from England. We're going there next weekend so it was like going through a list of ideas. You never know how your videos help others. And you also have such a dream life and family, while you manage to keep things so real, I don't think there was ever a boring video on your channel. I would comment on every video but I feel like I would just repeat the same things :)
It was a bit random, but still useful to know what is not available or is expensive in Italy. I'm surprised pecans are not available, but maybe they need a lot of water and/or Italian cuisine doesn't use them.
I love tea, of course. Here in London in my flat, every day. But when in Italy, even if I take teabags (PG Tips/Typhoo/whatever) as soon as you add Italian milk, it simply doesn't taste right. So I gave up and just drink coffee and forego tea until I get home.
God Rest in Heavenly Peace Maria Rosaria .......I fly back to Toronto with bags like that filled with chockies especially the Club biscuits lol ..lovely video Thank You
You weren't kidding about the chocolates! That's quite a lot in your haul! Each Christmas we get a Terry's Chocolate Orange in our stockings, and funnily, I think that this is the only time of the year we eat that. 😂
Girl after my own heart about 8 years ago went to Cairns and purchased some Daintree Tea and now that's the only tea I drink I order it online 1,000- at a time.
The shopping you brought back from England made me laugh. I live in France and I bring back random things too, lots of chocolate, marmite and friends bring me over those huge bags of tea which I then hand out to friends who always think that I really generous but really I have something like 3000 bags of tea. Hi Francesca, I'm Carlo, It makes me laugh to think of someone I don't know locked in a bathroom eating chocolate, Thanks.

Love this video, love seeing what others purchase. Good job on the tea and chocolate, my two fave food groups !
Loved this video Nicky, what an ordeal to unpack a car. I think I take my driveway and garage for granted a wee bit.
Yes, driveways are under appreciated!
Love it! I remember after 6 months on the Amalfi Coast getting a box of Yorkshire tea and being so excited it's the little things in life eh :)
well said!
i discovered your channel today and love it! i grew up in a British household in southern France so love watching other people's experiences in southern Europe!

Cocoanut milk?
Wonderful! Thank you! Grazie mille! So many wonderful memories of when we lived in England!

It did feel a bit silly filming myself unpacking shopping!
@@NickiPositano I love to see what people have bought and are unpacking from their haul.

Wow so many of the things you brought from England I love!
Love watching you unpack all your goodies. Most of all I love the videos.
I just love that big bag of tea and yes all the chocolate. Your Siamese kitty is just gorgeous.
i luv u n carlo so nice too watch god bless u both
This was so fun to watch😊...
Love and blessings to this lovely family.
Great fun watching what you brought home. I think it was all sensible and or fun chocolates.
Loved your video.. not boring at all! Condolences to all for the passing of Rosa!
Love you all thankyou for making me feel happy xx❤️🏴❤️
Merry Christmas to you all from Montana USA🥰
Your cat's tummy looks like mine, but we're happy! I've never seen those chocolates here in the US.
Since i found you a week ago ive been watching your videos and really enjoying them so i subscribed from England ✋
I enjoyed seeing the goodies you brought from England. Good video.☺️
I loved the shopping haul. I can never resist a closed packet or bag. Lol
OMD! Love your giant tea bag bag! lol
I also used to bring back tea and maple syrup and peanut butter ...and American mustard, chocolate etc
Love the stuff you brought back. I love the Murray Mints!! We are lucky enough to have a British store in NYC here I go there to stock up.
The Murray mints went somewhere else!
Loved this video, so natural
Not a thing that you post is boring! 💕💕💕
Hi Lisa, I'm Carlo, thank you! Well then do it! And if you can't come to Positano, Celebrate where you can, Happy 20th Anniversary !!
@@NickiPositano Thank you Carlo!!!!
Breakfast tea- I have to try it, cause so many people drink it. Great hall. Your cats are beautiful
AHH, this made me chuckle, it's funny the things you miss from home when you can't get them. I don't blame you for stocking up, I'd be the same, enjoy. X
I never ever heard of tea bag of that dimension you really love your breakfast tea
Great video! I’m often taking trips in the car to England so it’s nice to see what someone else is bringing back
lucky you! Once a year is not enough!
Than is very kind of you! (Especially after a comment saying that there was no point to my videos! Have a good trip!
It was a bit random, but still useful to know what is not available or is expensive in Italy. I'm surprised pecans are not available, but maybe they need a lot of water and/or Italian cuisine doesn't use them.
They are, we can get all types of nuts I live in Sicily and I get them at the weekly grocery market
Pecans are expensive in America.
Oooo. I love to see what ppl buy and bring home. Unpacking is exciting. A must buy for me in the uk is Savlon.
You can never have too much chocolate. My favorite British candy from childhood is Allsorts. This was a joy to watch. As all of your vids are.
thank you!
Love the cornish ware, I live in Cornwall close to St Ives....Marazion, home of St Michael's Mount where I lived for a few years!
Why are we fascinated with what other people eat and drink.........great haul.........Donna in Toronto
We are kindred spirits! I adore chocolate too!
I enjoy seeing all the different groceries you can buy in other countries. Love your fat cat, I have one also. Nice video. Take care.
Just beautiful scarey paths though Have a great day
I enjoyed this so much!
I love tea, of course. Here in London in my flat, every day. But when in Italy, even if I take teabags (PG Tips/Typhoo/whatever) as soon as you add Italian milk, it simply doesn't taste right. So I gave up and just drink coffee and forego tea until I get home.
Loving your videos so down to earth and unassuming !
God Rest in Heavenly Peace Maria Rosaria .......I fly back to Toronto with bags like that filled with chockies especially the Club biscuits lol ..lovely video Thank You
I love Club! I haven’t seen those in a loooong time
Your videos are never ever boring !
Loving, caring and sharing
Very random but as a straniera here thoroughly enjoyed. You should see my suitcases when I return from the US! 🤣
