as an Igbo person, it really stood out how she went back into history to re-enact the igbo landing of 1803, and even at the end to show herself depicting an Igbo tribal woman. This is really meaningful but also beautiful to see my people being represented through an amazing music video
Goose Pearl That shows you don’t know anything about Lemonade and its meaning. Adele herself knew the genius behind Lemonade so I ain’t got business talking to someone who underrates the album. Bye.
Idk if anyone noticed but when Beyonce n the girls walk towards the water it kinda makes a reference to when slavery occured. Specifically the people of the igbo tribe(which I'm from btw) which overthrew a ship that they were on from the slave trade. Instead of giving in to slavery. They drowned themselves into the water singing in Igbo ( the water spirit brought us, the water spirit will take us home) Edit: I’m proud to be black
"Why do you deny yourself heaven? Why do you consider yourself undeserving? Why are you afraid of love? You think it's not possible for someone like you, but you are the love of my life." Lemonade poetry is everything!
Keisha Charmaine its honestly a religious experience everytime i listen to this, truly captivating, sad that she didnt actually use the whole song tho. just beauty
YOU SHOULD'VE WON ALBUM OF THE YEAR. This album is iconic and avant-garde sophistication. For those who don’t know, Igbo Landing is the location of a mass suicide of Igbo slaves that occurred in 1803 on St. Simons Island, Georgia. As the story goes, a group of Igbo slaves revolted and took control of their slave ship, grounded it on an island, and rather than submit to slavery, proceeded to march into the water while singing in Igbo, drowning themselves in turn. They all chose death over slavery. It was an act of mass resistance against the horrors of slavery and became a legend, particularly amongst the Gullah people living near the site of Igbo Landing. In the video, Beyoncé marches into the water followed by a group of black women all in white with black fabric in the shape of a cross across the front of their bodies. They march progressively deeper into the water before pausing and raising all of their hands toward the sunset, seeking liberation through death.
I gelt like the adeles ablum was great but it wasnt like art. beyonce whole ablum was nothing but art peice that been painted. Plus the history she remind people what happened back in the day

One of my favorite Beyoncé songs.... its very vulnerable. If you have EVER been in a relationship so serious that you have to respect the LYRICS in this song.... This song is everything !!

1:08 to me, personally, one of the most beautiful 10 seconds out of anything I have seen in my 19 years of life. The romantic impact of "...but you are the love of my life" contrasting with the artist abandoned by herself in a building made to cultivate companionship (through enjoying sports with loved ones), looking vulnerable as she lies on a foetus position... Beautiful! Look at 1:10, the stadium lights at the top of the camera frame all glimmer in perfect, symmetrical sequence as the camera pulls back! And to add to this orgasm of creativity, that juicy bass comes in with the most heavenly synth-wave note scale I've heard. I showed this to my one-year old and before Beyonce even started singing she was already shaking her hips to rhythm, smiling! Art, my motherfuckas, art! Lindissimo!
My favorite song out of the album. It makes me feel so warm in a way. It gives me a little nostalgic feeling even when that's not exactly what it's talking about. I just love it♥️
Why r people saying that she didn't win the award bc of the fact that her album is more of the stories behind songs?! That's why it should have won! It's new and different and it's by the queen!
I'm not really a Beyoncé fan, but I really liked Lemonade and it's actually the first Beyoncé album I like from track 1 to 12. To me it feels more about the visuals than the music with Lemonade (music is great, but the visuals this era are among the BEST). It feels like she wanted to tell a story, and from that concept came the idea of the visuals and then the music (and her last album was the opposite with the music first and then the visuals). In the end, she won so many awards for the Lemonade film and got critical acclaim.
Ten times out of nine, I know you're lying But nine times outta ten, I know you're trying So I'm trying to be fair And you're trying to be there and to care And you're caught up in your permanent emotions All the loving I've been giving goes unnoticed It's just floating in the air, lookie there Are you aware you're my lifeline, are you tryna kill me If I wasn't me, would you still feel me? Like on my worst day? Or am I not thirsty, enough? I don't care about the lights or the beams Spend my life in the dark for the sake of you and me Only way to go is up, skin thick, too tough Cause you, you, you, you and me could move a mountain You, you, you, you and me could calm a war down You, you, you, you and me could make it rain now You, you, you, you and me could stop this love drought Nine times out of ten, I'm in my feelings But ten times out of nine, I'm only human Tell me, what did I do wrong? Feel like that question has been posed I'm movin' on I'll always be committed, I been focused I always paid attention, been devoted Tell me, what did I do wrong? Oh, already asked that, my bad But you my lifeline, think you tryna kill me? If I wasn't Bey, would you still feel me? Like on my worst day? Or am I not thirsty, enough? I don't care about the lights or the beams Spend my life in the dark for the sake of you and me Only way to go is up, them old bitches so wack I'm so tough, wassup? Cause you, you, you, you and me could move a mountain You, you, you, you and me could calm a war down You, you, you, you and me could make it rain now You, you, you, you and me would stop this love drought You and me would stop this love drought
when the ancestors got off that ship and walked back in the water to go back to Africa and drowned because they knew dying was better than bondage shout out to Beyonce paying homage to the ancestors❤️
black americans have west africans ancestors, not egyptian at all (which are far from west africa) stop reaching when igbo ppl (those who bey are paying homage in the video) are west africans
@Gregory Love No, actually you are demeaning West Africa, by implying that if you identify with the igbo people, instead of Egypt you are demeaning yourself. Black people mostly came from West Africa, through the Transatlantic trade. The reason East and "middle" Africa did not get colonized until much later was do to the europeans not wanting to go deep into the plane as they didnt know the true natures. Some Egyptians might have been slave trade as well, but most are from West Africa, and that is a-oh-kay.
That’s what happens when WE Israelites don’t keep the Laws statues and commandments..The most High punishes us because of our stubbornness so much that it took extreme hardcore bondage for us to wake up ...salute my ancestors for dying for us ...NOW ITS TIME TO LIVE FOR THEM...KEEP THE LAW ISRAEL WE ARE ALMOST HOME
#HANDSDOWN, Lemonade Deserved To Win "Album of The Year" This album is literally iconic & unique, all her songs throughout this album is so put together, well arranged & they speak so much intimate aspects, it's literally striking & I'll never be satisfied because Giselle deserved that "Win". 💯👌
This is what's so frustrating about the people in today's society. When she released beyonce, it was literally a pop album with a lot of sultriness to it and people kept saying she was too provocative and that she was too pop. She releases lemonade which is literally the opposite of her beyonce album from 2013, and people are like none of the songs are even that nice, none of them are hits. Like bitch you're just trying to look for a reason to hate because LITERALLY no one gives a fuck about your opinions in real life
I agree with you! I like the introduction a lot...As always her music manages to create emotion and to show an unexplored side. Grateful for having the opportunity to listen to such a wonderful song!
Guys. As you can see Beyoncé doesn't care about hits and Grammys. She is being herself. Stop acting like you own the Industry. Adele is hard working and she deserves the award as 'as Beyoncé would.
He bathes me until I forget their names and faces. I ask him to look me in the eye when I come... home. Why do you deny yourself heaven? Why do you consider yourself undeserving? Why are you afraid of love? You think it's not possible for someone like you. But you are the love of my life. Love of my life, the love of my life, the love of my life
QUEEN GOT ROBBED!!! In 20 years she will be considered the best artist of all time and Lemonade will be considered an amazing album like Thriller and Purple Rain...
I love this visual the most on lemonade it's so beautiful the meaning and the scenery and landscaping plus her performance of this was amazing at the Grammys
the story behind her going into the water the way she did was because of the “Igbo Landing”. a group of slaves revolted took control of their slave ship and grounded it on an island and proceeded to march into the water while singing in Igbo drowning themselves in. very powerful interesting story!
Mata Mkwezalamba I have only been recently listening to this album, I know, but I am in love with it and it’s because I am going through some shit. I have always loved Beyonce though. Ever since Destiny’s Child days.
Adele had the song and record of the year with Hello, but Beyoncé should have had AOTY in the bag! The Grammys snubbed her once again. What else does she have to do? Record her album as she's giving birth?
blumountaindew The Grammys are not for US(colored people). No, im not racist. It is the honest to god truth only flo rida(i think) has been given a grammy. One black artist. ..that was in the eeaaarrrlllyyyy 2000s too.
this song hits deeper when i sing it to myself in the mirror. suffering of self with self to strive for self love, growth, strength, honesty and commitment. "Cause you, you, you, you and me could move a mountain You, you, you, you and me could calm a war down You, you, you, you and me could make it rain now You, you, you, you and me could stop this love drought"
The visuals are so deep. Gives me goosebumps when I think of slavetime story popularly known as the Igbo (Ibo) Landing. Watching them walking into the water, rather than be slaves.
I literaly think that she is a WHOLE ART. She is Art, the music that she makes is Art, her lyrics is Art, the music video that she makes for her music is Art, her hard-working is Art, her performance is Art, SHE IS SIMPLY ART. Thank you for everything that you give and remind us QUEEN B😘😘
Once upon a time there was a trio known as Labelle. They spoke to the people's of the African diaspora. They never received any credit nor Grammy awards or mass recognition for their efforts! What they do have is a musical legacy that has inspired generations of musicians and artists around the world. Look them up. They've been woke for over 50 years. Why am I bringing this up on a Beyonce video? Here's why. I believe Beyonce knew from the inception of these videos and songs , that she was going to piss of and SCARE the white supremacist power structure that permeates everything in America. For me personally this music and these videos are her best work so far. I may be biased because I'm a 52 year old African descended man. I've seen some things. What I am mostly is greatful to see that we have an artist in Beyonce who is continuing to fight for and bring awareness to our struggle for equality in America and around the world. As with Labelle Nona Hendryx Lauren Hill. Nina Simone and the list goes on. They will try and silence her now , they will try and deny her any award no matter how much she deserves it. The good thing is this. We are all woke and awakening across the generations. When she was singing songs about being bootylicious they put that in the dictionary. Now she's taking a stance and saying stop killing us . Now she's being vilified and demonized. This is intentional and it's been done before to other artists on the low. To Beyonce fans look up naras the people who nominate the artist for the Grammy awards I think you'll begin to see the light! Pun intended. Continue to support Beyonce and don't worry about awards. They don't mean anything in the long run. What matters is the message in the music. Beyonce deserves our love and support for what she's doing. There are many people who remain silent and go along to get along. Stay Blessed! One 💘
Bet Beyoncé is cool not having Grammy of the year. She knows she's the shit, she has proved it over and over again. So she's probs not fussed. She has a beautiful baby, husband and twins on the way. So as long the Beyhive keeps supporting her xx its cool
B is the greatest most creative lyrically, visually. Dig deeper. Her visions will leave you thoughtful. Pay attentions to the combination of every little synchronised details, they tell not just one story therefore you 2 can connect with her. Her starring with a focus (clean direction her lyrics exposed) then rolling her eyes at the end while about to being ritualised. Rituals are often carried out by shamans who recognise the face of a evil spirit which troubles once soul. The image is then formed from a wood or leaves and sticks. The spirit is then taken from once troubled body and soul and transfered into a wooden figure. Once the evil spirit comes back to its body is then burnt or drown in a river. We all know B is born virgo perfectionist, as we see in her every performance and it doesn't exclude her love life. But this time her unnoticed love (as she speaks about it in her lyric) its taking its tool and droves her mad. Madness and slow emotional death, which comes from not knowing where you stand in someone's life, is shown by her lying in what looks like a death bed made of flowers(B its an earthy star sign). Although she isnt lying flat like you would in a coffin. She sits down in a chairs pushed to the floor (half way there=slow death). Its probably from B knowing "all the love that ive been giving goes unnoticed" but still she is trying even if it will kill her ("you trynna kill me"). She freed herself by noticing her wrongs: loving someone who do not see her love. Free she sits on flowers contemplating her breakthrough move and the importance of loving herself first, leaving other women, lying in their chairs, like she did, taking her place. She probably is happy to give this man to all these women he has been having, and she is sure these women will all end up like B-half way on a slow death bed. Then the end! Her waiting for ritual, painted face, her eyes are determined without 2nd guessing. Camera rolls trying to lose your focus but I don't know about you,I can't take my eyes away from her...soul. Then she rolls her eyes taking her "poisoned" soul to elemental soul cleanse ritual

Lindissimo!
leeardamer those simple words brings tears to my eyes each time she says them....
Out of all the video thats what you chose? 😑
I had never noticed thank u
Good writtens!!!👌👌👌i read ur comment like 3 times just to experience the exotic energy thur your words🙌
Even that thing for football is in a ''u'' form. when she says ''you are the love of my life''
Beyonce brought back culture to popular music!! Love it
J G there is no culture in pop music.
She did JG, she sure did.
dilen noris this song is R&B sweetie
dilen noris ever heard of 'Igbo Landing'?
@@nickireginebey9361 it’s alt rnb
Still obsessed with this song
Wow... I'm not even a Beyonce fan. This is so beautiful. This whole album is raw and emotional. It makes me cry. My God. It's spiritual
She should have won Album of the Year!!!😭❤️❤️
No hate on Adele though!
xoLYSSAxo at least she gave half of the award!
Beyonce deserved the Album Of The Year in the Grammy's.
Nop..Bieber deserves!!!
kidBBuhl bieber can't sing and his album is shit
Martina Grande yy..
even Adele thought so...
Jay / xxamazingjayxx then Adele should hand it back to bey, you think she would take it?
The beat is so satisfying😍😍😍😩😩
Armond Sanford I agree touches the right feeling
Armond Sanford It’s perfect♥️♥️♥️♥️
Insane intro. Then the beat drops.
I can feel the supernatural power on this song 💖
Ten times out of nine, I know you're lying
But nine times outta ten, I know you're trying
So I'm trying to be fair
And you're trying to be there and to care
And you're caught up in your permanent emotions
All the loving I've been giving goes unnoticed
It's just floating in the air, lookie there
Are you aware you're my lifeline, are you tryna kill me
If I wasn't me, would you still feel me?
Like on my worst day? Or am I not thirsty, enough?
I don't care about the lights or the beams
Spend my life in the dark for the sake of you and me
Only way to go is up, skin thick, too tough
Cause you, you, you, you and me could move a mountain
You, you, you, you and me could calm a war down
You, you, you, you and me could make it rain now
You, you, you, you and me could stop this love drought
Nine times out of ten, I'm in my feelings
But ten times out of nine, I'm only human
Tell me, what did I do wrong?
Feel like that question has been posed
I'm movin' on
I'll always be committed, I been focused
I always paid attention, been devoted
Tell me, what did I do wrong?
Oh, already asked that, my bad
But you my lifeline, think you tryna kill me?
If I wasn't Bey, would you still feel me?
Like on my worst day? Or am I not thirsty, enough?
I don't care about the lights or the beams
Spend my life in the dark for the sake of you and me
Only way to go is up, them old bitches so wack
I'm so tough, wassup?
Cause you, you, you, you and me could move a mountain
You, you, you, you and me could calm a war down
You, you, you, you and me could make it rain now
You, you, you, you and me would stop this love drought
You and me would stop this love drought

when the ancestors got off that ship and walked back in the water to go back to Africa and drowned because they knew dying was better than bondage shout out to Beyonce paying homage to the ancestors❤️
This is heartbreaking
black americans have west africans ancestors, not egyptian at all (which are far from west africa) stop reaching when igbo ppl (those who bey are paying homage in the video) are west africans
Gregory Love false
That’s what happens when WE Israelites don’t keep the Laws statues and commandments..The most High punishes us because of our stubbornness so much that it took extreme hardcore bondage for us to wake up ...salute my ancestors for dying for us ...NOW ITS TIME TO LIVE FOR THEM...KEEP THE LAW ISRAEL WE ARE ALMOST HOME
"10 times outta 9 I know you lying. " my fav part 💯
AND 9 TIMES OUT OF TEN I KNOW YOURE TRYIN TO BE FEHH!!
Imani Bolden yes ❤

i dont have words to describe what this song means to me
Truthe feels
#HANDSDOWN, Lemonade Deserved To Win "Album of The Year" This album is literally iconic & unique, all her songs throughout this album is so put together, well arranged & they speak so much intimate aspects, it's literally striking & I'll never be satisfied because Giselle deserved that "Win". 💯👌
Flexy Kyle I love all her names. Like Queen Giselle 👑👑💯💯
Flexy Kyle beyonce could win the bitch of year
Stone Arraw No that one is reserved salty people like you
Flexy Kyle ㅅ
This is what's so frustrating about the people in today's society. When she released beyonce, it was literally a pop album with a lot of sultriness to it and people kept saying she was too provocative and that she was too pop. She releases lemonade which is literally the opposite of her beyonce album from 2013, and people are like none of the songs are even that nice, none of them are hits. Like bitch you're just trying to look for a reason to hate because LITERALLY no one gives a fuck about your opinions in real life
This video is just so royally iconic in my opinion; painstakingly stunning and absolutely breathtaking..
There are no words to describe Beyonce. Her music/videos blow me away each and every time, she never disappoints.
This is the most beautiful song I've ever heard !
Briana Nicole
Briana Nicole it's so dreamy it's my favorite off of lemonade
I agree with you! I like the introduction a lot...As always her music manages to create emotion and to show an unexplored side. Grateful for having the opportunity to listen to such a wonderful song!
it really is. her voice is so beautiful
Mariah and her mother singing the first song on glitter
bout time we recognize the best song on lemonade.
"Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped from ships because they knew death was better than bondage."
Is this what Michael B. Jorden referenced in Black Panther🥺❤️
Yessssssss!!!

OMG I can't with her vocals this is so beautiful😭😭😍😍
This is the BEST album I have seen in my lifetime.
Been playing queen beyoncé songs. It heals my broken heart and soul. Women empowerment 🙂
Guys. As you can see Beyoncé doesn't care about hits and Grammys. She is being herself. Stop acting like you own the Industry. Adele is hard working and she deserves the award as 'as Beyoncé would.
DancerFever no she's being paid to do this. Blm brings us all apart search sjw
Raikkun Adachi oml another one
DancerFever sigh, if only I could be so sophisticated that I have a msp profile pic, everyone listen to her 😂
without a doubt one of the best songs off the album - but you obviously gotta listen to the full version, this is almost just a teaser..
Karel Zich where can I listen to the full
Version
Hodman Hassan buy it on Itunes😊
Karel Zich oh I thought this was just the full song I was about to be devastated
Exactly!!!
He bathes me until I forget their names and faces. I ask him to look me in the eye when I come... home. Why do you deny yourself heaven? Why do you consider yourself undeserving? Why are you afraid of love? You think it's not possible for someone like you. But you are the love of my life. Love of my life, the love of my life, the love of my life
FINALLY THIS IS ON SPOTIFY!
Yesss
started crying before the song even started. This will forever by my song. Beyonce always fucking delivers 👏👑 Queen👏👑

And criminally underrated
NO, JUST NO. Maybe cause it's just not that good...
QUEEN GOT ROBBED!!!
In 20 years she will be considered the best artist of all time and Lemonade will be considered an amazing album like Thriller and Purple Rain...
Tekkie74 Damn right. Can I getta amen?!
Tekkie74 i remeber when they said back then that thriller was black garbage
Tekkie74 Michael barely got any Grammys after Thriller. Bad is his best album and he got snubbed despite it haven5 #1 songs.
Tekkie74 Mariah Carey also got robbed in her Daydream album in 96.
most underrated beyonce song
This album is a blessing to the world. What did we do to deserve her?
Tyler Varney You didn't deserve her,
I love this visual the most on lemonade it's so beautiful the meaning and the scenery and landscaping plus her performance of this was amazing at the Grammys
i dont care if B wins album of the year or not. We love u Queen
hehehe me ? :D
thanks :D
This is the best song on lemonade. Freaking period!
Am I the only one who has this on repeat and wishes this song was longer?
Mariolene Joseph there is a full version of this song, it hasn't been released though I think :)
brown eyed angel the music video is half the length of the actual song which is on iTunes and tidal
I heard the full song and wish it was longer (if possible). Love it! Thanks!
Mariolene Joseph there's a longer version on pandora
Mariolene Joseph the song is longer the video is just super short
i am shocked beyonce didnt get album of the year. while i like adele and her hello song but she always sings sad ballads.
WHO ELSE IS WAITING FOR DON'T HURT YOURSELF?
Tobi B ME!!!!!
Tobi B I'm waiting to on pray you catch me
Tobi B Heyyy 👋
I want 6 inch first
Tobi B meeee
Proudly Igbo 🇳🇬
the story behind her going into the water the way she did was because of the “Igbo Landing”. a group of slaves revolted took control of their slave ship and grounded it on an island and proceeded to march into the water while singing in Igbo drowning themselves in. very powerful interesting story!
I’m so thankful you shared this with me. So much knowledge that would’ve went over my head 😭
we still love you bey! we all know lemonade shouldve won album of the year.
I came here to cry, mission accomplished
Mata Mkwezalamba wow
Same
In tears, I laughed so hard at this
Mata Mkwezalamba I have only been recently listening to this album, I know, but I am in love with it and it’s because I am going through some shit. I have always loved Beyonce though. Ever since Destiny’s Child days.
Mee tooo😂😂😂😂
The beginning makes me cry. “Why do you deny yourself heaven”…
don't know why she didn't win album of the year. I'm not even a huge Beyonce fan but lemonade is legit.
This is by far the BEST record in the album to me. It's so addctive, smooth, sad and meaningful. Just Beautiful, everything about it.
Adele had the song and record of the year with Hello, but Beyoncé should have had AOTY in the bag! The Grammys snubbed her once again. What else does she have to do? Record her album as she's giving birth?
blumountaindew Look at Leonardo DiCaprio. Took him forever to win an oscar. Beyoncé will get AOTY one day!
blumountaindew she won lotsa award already because of her daddy. Adele deserved the award much more
Adele herself said AOTY should have gone to and is in fact Lemonade by Beyonce.
blumountaindew hell if she does that they still wouldn't give it to her 😑
blumountaindew The Grammys are not for US(colored people).
"Cause you, you, you, you and me could move a mountain
You, you, you, you and me could calm a war down
You, you, you, you and me could make it rain now
You, you, you, you and me could stop this love drought"
The visuals are so deep. Gives me goosebumps when I think of slavetime story popularly known as the Igbo (Ibo) Landing. Watching them walking into the water, rather than be slaves.
YO ,WTH IT GOTTA BE THAT?

One 💘
Very true !
vic Victor All of that must have been a bitch to write.
ur awesomeness
#Good Message
vic Victor Do you expect people to read all that😂😂 Can I get a summary?
Bet Beyoncé is cool not having Grammy of the year. She knows she's the shit, she has proved it over and over again. So she's probs not fussed. She has a beautiful baby, husband and twins on the way. So as long the Beyhive keeps supporting her xx its cool

Words cannot begin to explain how absolutely beautiful this song is and I'm so happy it's finally on UA-cam! I've been waiting months for this Dx
the song is amazing. especially after I broke the video and the song down too truly understand what she was saying. the female Michael Jackson.
Amanda Kelley she didn't write this song Ingrid did.
Whether she wrote it or someone else it was structured and designed specificly for beyonce and really all women across the globe
Anahi Cruz I've been waiting so long for this song to come on UA-cam too 😂 bey 👸🏽
Yes!! Now I need pray you catch me
You were beautiful at the Grammys, as you always are and always will be.❤

this song is so stunning. it’s like when lilac/lavender is born. seeing a picture clearly like the feeling of eye drops.
This song, this woman, this album, THIS VOICE IT’S ALL JUST SO PERFECT MY HEART CANT FREAKING HANDLE ALL THIS PERFECTION
Then she rolls her eyes taking her "poisoned" soul to elemental soul cleanse ritual
yall don't know how long I've been waiting for lemonade to drop on Spotify😭 I'm dyin here
