sounds so good man. ik how to record but recording punk is totally different. this video really shows that i can record my band with some very basic equipment, and im grateful for it. thank you
I dont know why I didnt have a subscription to your channel xD Watching this now, really cool insight in behind-the-scenes shit :) Verse vocal melody is really creative!!
was looking to find some of your music, happened upon this! as someone who’s learning to record music, this was insightful :) what mic do you use for vocals?? i hope you are well!
Gail! Sorry for the late reply, thank you for reaching out - so great to hear from you! That’s awesome that you’re beginning to record music! I’m glad you found the video useful, too. I’ve been recording at home since before the Alta Loma days and have just learned by trial and error. I can definitely help you if you have questions - you can do a lot with very little gear and still get a great sound without spending a lot of $. The vocal mic I use is a USB mic that is worth maybe $150 and it was a hand me down. Apogee is the company that makes it. Works fine for my purposes - any mic in that price range would probably work fine for recording vocals and acoustic guitars. I hope that helps! Reach out any time, hope you are doing well!

This is fun! Sidenote: We had that very same Body Systems Kiwi box poster on our kitchen wall for much of the pandemic.
Some of those Kiwi Co kits are pretty cool!

I’ve been resisting it for so long but now it seems like I might as well do it - at least the best sounding albums. It’s on my to-do list! Thanks 🎸
