Thank you and thanks to my subscribers for giving me ideas on where to go :). That Maine story is a rare time that I felt really uneasy out in the wild
Glad you liked it :). That night up in Maine was pretty strange. The best explanation for the racking of the tree was given from an avid hunter who has seen and heard elk match pace and rake their antlers up and down trees. So it could have been that, but it doesn't explain what I saw earlier out there :)
I'm not worried about bears, racoons, armadillos etc. But the spiders are a no go for me! I'd rather play with a gator. Your video's are getting better and better! Thanks so much for letting us join you.
I wish the camera could pick up the reflection off the spider eyes. I could see them from 20-30 yards away, even the little ones. It was hopeful to not step on them, but I still don't know what I DID step on, other than it was big like a mole or mouse :)
Great little out of the way spot. being able to preview these places before going there is really useful, like pointing out the the 'no pets " policy. The drone view really useful info also-Your stepmom is a cutie, BTW!
I fished Mutual Mine as far back as 40 years ago ! I caught some pretty big fish but like I said it’s been years! The camping area used to be open without a permit ! Until several years back a bunch juveniles destroyed the place and it closed for quite awhile! It was used more as a swimming hole in the hot summers! Back then there was always someone living on the property and managing the camping part of it . I quit going when they put locked it up ! Great that you and your parents get together like that ! My dad introduced me to fishing and the outdoors by taking me bass fishing in 1968 on lake Panasoffkee and I am still Bass fishing to this day !
Makes sense about the underage drinking. There are signs posted that say "do to recent activities, no alcohol is permitted" or something to that effect. How was the fishing 40 years ago? I'd imagine there are some big fish in there hidden under all the growth
I’m like 85% done watching but I have to comment now! Stirring that coffee with the slim Jim was savage 😂. Such a great video man. I’ve definitely seen my fair share of weird things. What you described hearing in the woods that matched your pace is exactly what I always hear about those "big hairy ape things" be safe and looking forward to the next one!
lol, thanks man, as outdoor(z)men we have to adapt and overcome :) That thing that was matching my pace and raked the tree is still one of those things that I can't quite explain, especially after what I had seen earlier that day. I'm sure it's all coincidental, but combined it makes the mind wonder.
Great video. I’m shocked that the camp ground was empty this time of year. I love the dramatic music during the night hike and the story of your Bigfoot encounter. Speaking of Maine, I just move from Clearwater back up to New Hampshire last month. If you ever want to come up to do a kayak camping adventure up here or in Maine sometime maybe we can set something up.
Oh wow! I'll definitely take you up on that. I used to live in Barrington NH back when I was stationed at Pease (back when they had an Active duty unit). I always wanted to kayak out to the Isle of Sholes, and I will someday :)
@ the Maine Island Trail is another option. There are 200+ island sites along the main coast that are maintained by a non-profit group. Looks pretty cool too. Of course lots of remote lakes and rivers too.
You are finding so many cool places to visit. Interesting story about Maine.

Good stuff! That night hike, combined with the recounting of your Maine hunting encounter, had me looking for Big Foot! Thanks for bringing us along!
