For those with boxes whereby you can't find the original stock rom, yours may be a clone of another well known box. So find the firmware of the box closest related to yours. And fingers crossed it should hopefully work. I found out my AGD NextGen 1.3 was an amlogic QBox s905 clone so I flashed the stock rom for that.
The short pin method works well. I've used it so many times. Even used it to install a custom rom. It works flawless. My box is never bricked thanks to this method.

i cant turn on my box with power cord, only by usb power from pc, and only my laptop with win10, not with second one, old win 7. This is strange. When i connect box with hdmi cabel with sony tv and usb with pc, because i opened the box i just press av button to enter recovery mode( samsung tv doesn't see box signal) i can enter factory reset but cant get anything from that, so i need to flash rom wich i have, but my box overheat and from blue light after 45 seconds goes to red and after 10 seconds turn off completly
should i try anymore, because i waist lots of time now on this problem?

P.S.: I have tried using the AMLogic burn tool, only to receive the error 0x10105002 (Romcode/Initialize DDR/Read initialize status/USB Control setup error) 2% in. Attempting to short the NAND chip's neighbouring pins with the micro SD card inside its socket (with the appropriate contents) also proved futile. The android box in question is a Tronsmart MXIII 4k TV box. I am kindly asking for an explanation and a solution.

hi. i did the burn card maker, sticked the sd card at my mxq s805 holded the av reset button applied power but the box iniciate by the sd card instead of install. in this case i still have to short cut it ??
My M8S pro stopped loading. Didn't do anything with it (no root, no fw updates, nothing. Started lagging and I rebooted it then it got stuck). Basically, it doesn't even get beyond the logo screen (not even the colorful 'MBOX' but some basic-looking 'mbox' - yes, all lowercase).
I only had it for 4.5 years (but it was mostly turned on 24/7, tho I was only watching movies like about 2/wk).
Do you know if those boxes designed 2 last?
It doesn't have a 'reset' button, so i haven't tried 2 short any pins 2 get to Android recovery... So not sure if this is simply hardware failure and now it's plain dead box or something...
I have S905W. I tried installing atvx android 9 but now its stuck on ATVX logo. reset button is not working.
Just saw your video my box had no markings but when I opened it open I saw M8 s812 but I can't find the firmware, it was openelec is it possible to just load stock firmware without openelec?
Right now I have black screen loaded wrong firmware. Still lights up and it connects to USB burn tool but on screen nothing even after hitting in the reset button.

i have MXQ PRO 4k 5G box with 2gb ram and 16gb memory. it was working good but sudden it stuck on blue light and android boot screen only. i tried to do hard reset but seems that reset button which is available inside AV slot is also not working. i have downloaded latest firmware and uploaded the same on my sd card with Burn Card Maker and then i tried to upgrade firmware with sd card after connecting my sd card into USB card reader and then to MXQ Box. but still it shows only android on screen and blue light in box. Any advise or suggestion please....????????? its Rockchip RK3066 . please help me.

Do you only plug the power cord in once while switching between the pins, or do you have to unplug and replug in the power cord every time you change pins until you short it out
Nah just plug in and cycle through pins and see what happens - can vary it until you get a result
I have a tablet with a Rockchip RK808B. I need to know how to manually reset it (short it) via the jumper switch on the motherboard. The Rockchip RK3368H is on this motherboard also. i tried with burn card maker but no success. my mxq box don't have reset button. so last option was pin short method. i started shorting from pin 1 untill i found the correct pin. for my mxq pro+ 4k box the no reset button and samsung nand the pin short location is pin 31-32

Dude, Your video is owsome! I am having a nearly dead T95 max which is heated up too much . It is getting stuck up on boot. No reset mechanism works on it. After taking rest for two three days only it boots again and getting stuck while heated up. I expect your expertise in this field would be able to tell some thing about this strange symptoms.
I dare say it's probably a faulty box if it only getting stuck when it's becoming hot.

Means to say it shows red light but when short reset button it shows blue light and screen was like a tv monitor which svows some cloudy screen like no channel in t.v shows.

Apply power then short pins 'just be careful to get correct pins' some box's have pin's detailed on forums like freaktab

do not need windows 7, if you only have windows 10 you can rightclick the file program and click properties then go to compatibilty window and check compatibility mode and run this program in compatibility mode for windows 7

Every time I download the ROM and unzip or trying to mount it, it says the image is corrupted. I tried a couple of other ROMs as well as different PC but no luck.

tried to to change my firmware for my x96 air s905x3 4G and got stuck in a boot loop i tried to reboot to system still boot loop, reboot to bootloader (it freezes) clear cache and factory reset has not helped, I can still boot into recovery mode but at this stage, I'm think to just flash the OS to SD and use it boot, at this stage I'll try anything 😔🤔... any help would be very appreciated.. thanks in advance

It will be either a S802 or a S812 - either unfortunately where garbage when they made them. The only decent TV box from that era is the MXQ S805, but pretty sure M8N branded device have the mentioned SOC above.

Hi I'm gave an issue with booting on M8s Pro L. Stuck on the mbox Colourful logo. Followed your video and touching the pins (where u have indicated) the screen goes black other pins don't do anything. When I reset to box it goes to the same Colour logo and becomes stuck. Have I done something wrong?
Would not be using this guide if your box is booting up to at least the splash screen - It is a case of finding the right firmware.
Problem is I don't have a reset button so there isn't anything I can do...

Hi, it stuck at every time on the android red cross on a screen what should I do now.
got a z66x z2 box, only the red light is on, doesn't boot and doesn't react to the remote (the light should turn blue when starts booting), the computer doesn't detect it when connected through usb.
guess that stuff with the sd card wont work here cause it's not amlogic, it doesn't even have the reboot button (which is in the AV of the amlogics)
This has a ZTE processor, not something we have looked at recovering yet.

I was updating the firmware of my box and at the end it rebooted and never worked again. I plug the power cord and not even the blue display turns on. I've tried all methods, even this one, and nothing seems to power it on.
Is it completely dead? The box is, I think, a clone of Tanix T3 mini. It has a S905w chip, Android 7.1.2, 1/8Gb.

Yes, I've tried it. Nothing works. Doesn't turn on any light on power cable connection, not detected when plugged in the PC... probably something fried in the box. It already had faulty hardware. It was always freezing because it "thought" it was too hot. I've read that some boxes have faulty temperature sensors...

My H96 pro+ is inserted the firmware sd card. It shows box logo when I apply power. It shows Updating for half second only when I press the Reset button. Do you think the box still have a chance to recover? Is a usb cable the last way to try?

Hi. Thanks. I'm trying to restart an M8s pro w TV box that is stuck in red light.
Two questions:
1)shorting processor, red light goes off. Nothing happens. Do I have to short processor and press reset button simultaneously?
2) I'm trying to restart the box stuck in red light. Can I short processor's pins in order to restart without sd inserted?
3) I've tried to connect via USB male/male cable to USB burning tool but after shorting processor's pin nothing happens.
4) I've noticed you have same pins for reset in your pcb where you showed how to short processor. With respect to reset button, It's not clear to me which of 4 pins I've to shorten to reset. 2 holes (upper), two dots (lower) separeted by a "+" sign in the middle. Looking on internet reset is alternatively suggested by: shorting hole pins, shorting "+"pins, shorting 1hole and 1+ pin without difference if is made on the left or right size.

shorting pin is the last resort to recovering your box and could end up causing more problems than it is worth.
when using burn tool what version of windows are you using ? burn tool version 2.1.6 is latest version and you may find version 2.1.2 works better overal

My box is unuseful stuck in red light.
I've identified two pins that shorts processor, but nothing happens. Just 1 time I've heard the blup sound and USB burning tool has recognized USB device. But later on when I've tried to upload an img suddenly it returned "ioctl_identify_host_handler ret=5 error_msg=libusb0-dll:err [control_msg] sending control message failed, win error: a device connected to the system is not in function"
The last sentence is translated from italian.
Several times i've repeated to short pins but USB b.tool has never recognized device again
In addition. I've installed USB burning tool 2.1.2 under win 7 pro. Shorting processor pins put red light off for shorting time but doesn't led to device recognition on USB burning tool either under this configuration.
I'm not able to reset. Shorting 4 reset pins (couple by couple) doesn't make differences.

Both win 7/8 USB burning tool works, I've found correct pins to shortcut. This lead to USB b.t. recognition but now I think I've to find correct img file to burn since always return "ioctl" error.
One last question. Sd flash method, requires uman intervention? I mean, since TV HDMI don't give me any video image, I'm not able to interact. So, using usb burning tool I'm trying to flupdste firmware, but if operation are automatic, maybe I could try with sd inserted and pin shortcut.
What do you suggest?

Update I thought I'd completey bricked my x96 air but the boot screen has at least changed the OS back, it has not loaded up yet and has been on that screen for a while, at 1st it just turned itself off and didn't reboot just darkness no lights but I put the power back on after panicing then left it for a while and abra kadabra we are here, if this doesn't work it would be only because I flashed the wrong image file or pulled the plug to early thinking it died... either way this tutorial is the right track as force recovery mode is a good final option

Will keep people updated with progress and my specs if I get it fixed as the legitimate x96 air 4g doesn't seem to have as many good tutorials as other TV boxes for some reason plus the "X96Air_P3_20200831-1753" image is probably the image I actually need rather than the "x96_a1000_20210531-1609" image for my x96 air s905x3

Haven't completely resolved the issue but you have got me somewhere:
So following your steps putting firmware on the sd card then I had to go to the last step and open up the box and short the pins. It booting up straight to the firmware when shorting it (not updating & reflashing the box)
Anyway after booting up to the box I put twrp(recovery.img) and poison rom on the SD card. Downloaded terminal and tried to reboot into twrp through the terminal:
su
reboot update
It then hung on the black screen like it did when it was bricked so i shorted it again using the method then it went into twrp
I then went onto install poison rom onto the box booted up fine.
Go to turn the box off then turn it back on again and it doesn't do anything until you short it.... then it boots up again just fine... also if i take the SD card out then try turn it on then short it it wont do anything its like it needs the SD card in to even boot?
Maybe its using the SD card as storage and not the internal storage?
I'm not sure, Im might just solder the 2 pins I use to short it together then that will be that?

If your box is booting to android, this method is not required

Soon as i bridge the shirt pins it boots straight away 🤔

Couple of questions - do you have a working link for your usb burning tool tutorial? The one above doesnt work and I've been trying everything to get it to recognise my Mi Box 3, so was hoping to read it.
If you burn to an SD card, and put the SD card into a USB reader - can I use that on my Mi Box which doesnt have an SD Card reader?

Unfortunately the website was hijacked and so I had to remove it, might be able to find the article on archive.org. The MI box was different in design so might be a difficult box to recover.
@@MXQPROJECT Thanks - looks like the tutorial wasnt for the USB tool anyway. the principals are identical, but for whatever reason it wont detect the box in bootloader mode or normal. Oh well, cheers anyway
Oh if I remember correctly, those boxes need a license for burn tool. Have a look through freaktab forum, should help you more.

Hi, short Pin Method for Beelink Mini MXIII-II please
Hi I have a Mygica 1800e box 2gb Ram and 16gb mem on lollipop. Was working fine for years until recently now it only boots up to Lollipop logo and stays on that screen. I have tried countlessly times booting to Recovery but no longer can get into recovery. Done the push rest button and plug in power to no avail (worked in the past) . Hoping you can help ?

I just wondered what would Kingoroot would do to this unit. X96 max 4/32 android 8.1
It is stuck on the boot logo. I have done resets, recovery wipe. No change. Also sdcard in and out booting. I am just formatting a sdcard fresh and will try that next before downloading firmware and reinstalling.
I don’t have a PC at the moment either.
@@MXQPROJECT tried but no luck. Can't get it to recovery screen like I used to in the past. That's my issue
ive got t95z and its got no OS, will this method fix? i've tried shorting pins but always justs sits on t95z plus logo and doesn't move
Don't need to be shorting pins if your device boots to the splash screen
@@MXQPROJECT ah OK. Computer doesn't find box, can't flash from USB or sd and recovery doesn't work
