  • The Computar Telecentric 55mm f/2.8 TEC-55 is a C-mount lens that does macro photography. I used the lens on my Micro Four Thirds Panasonic G7 with a C-mount to M43 adapter. For strictly macro purposes, the lens was great. Trying to do anything else was met with some challenges.

You didn't touch on the most important part about the lens: the fact it is telecentric. Telecentric lenses are practically unheard of in the photography world, and most people are unaware the effect it causes was even physically possible.

Honestly this is exactly what I was looking for, I just heard about this type of lens and had to go look if someone had used these outside the industrial world. I was hoping this video would show off some of the effects.

Hi, can it be used as a standard lens to film say a person at 2-3m distance? Can you do a small test? I'd really like to see how it performs, I'm looking for weird and different lenses for video work, thanks

Didn't you notice that the subject was the same size in the viewfinder regardless of the working distance? At the risk of sounding like a troll, I feel like the real benefit of this lens is lost on you.
