      Hey Ramon I've a cheapo Teisco with similar pickups. The difference is , instead of gold foil , there is black vinyl. Also the cut outs on the top of the pickups are slightly different. Question is, could these be the same as gold foils. My pickups are also thin aprox 6/7mm deep, from front to back plate.
      They so sound good, considering that they look budget!
      Keep up the good work.

    I wish I still had it but I only ever owned o e guitar that really suit me and stayed tuned and engineered.

    I remember selling it the same year I flogged all my vinyl as I fell for the CD sales drive

    I'm using a JHS The Milkman snapback delay and boost pedal, with a Mooer Ana Delay and a Topanga CatlinBread through a Fender Deluxe or a Pignose for bedroom volume

    I adore the bridge pickup tone Ry gets. I tend to mute string noise, so is the cover to the bridge pick necessary for the magnetic field? Would you recommend another exposed pickup instead?

  • @Stlie1

    With all the pedals. Is it a Fender Twin, Deluxe (5E3) that works best? Or what would they sound like though a Champ?

    • @TheGuitarShow
      @TheGuitarShow  7 місяців тому +1

      I'd say a twin would sound the most hifi, but a Deluxe can sound amazing especially with the slap back and also remember Ry uses 4 x smaller ttube amps rather than any 100watt amps.

    One way to get a good slide tone is to not use a strat. Don’t know anyone else besides Ry Cooder who sounds good playing slide on one.Tele’s like Goose has are a bit better because of the output but they usually have a 7.25 radius newer ones 9.00 and it’s still far from ideal. Best mainstream slide guitar is an SG by a mile. Thin, wide and flat. If you don’t already play slide guitar and you get an SG you’ll learn quick. The guitar lends itself to throwing your arm up or down they fretboard at the end of every phrase you play to the point where that’s pretty much all you’re doing so you might as well tune to a chord lol

      How about Lowell George and Sonny Landreth..pretty amazing tone i'd say.

    • @BluesDeville
      @BluesDeville Рік тому +1

      You seriously don't know anyone other than Ry Cooder who sounds good playing slide on a Strat? Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Lowell George, Jack Pearson, Dickey Betts, even Duane Allman played slide on Strat in Muscle Shoals. A lot of great slide players played slide on Strats.
      For the record... I'll take a Tele or a Strat over an SG for slide all day. But I also don't care for Derek Trucks' slide tone or playing...and the SGs are as ugly as sin...and they have neck dive like mad.

    • @rheinhardtgrafvonthiesenha8185
      @rheinhardtgrafvonthiesenha8185 Рік тому +1

      @@BluesDeville yeah but you can access the frets better on an sg. Bonnie Raitt played one guitar her whole career so that can hardly count. Duane played it on a strat cause it’s what Dickey gave him as a backup to tune to an open chord with. Later on when he got a few bucks he used an sg for slide as well. Jeff Beck used a strat for more reasons than I’ll elaborate on but again I don’t think he was choosing the strat for slide but rather for other reasons. Clapton yes I’ll give you that one

      Sonny Landreth plays strats. ua-cam.com/video/MMB7Xf_7JDs/v-deo.html
      And early in his career, Johnny Winter played a tele string strat (strung with six strings) as in his woodstock performance. ua-cam.com/video/kJSEZeNrKNM/v-deo.html

    Nice sounds! I think those pickups help a lot. One of my favorite slide guitar tones ever was done by Blake Mills : ua-cam.com/video/YpPDFofXqsM/v-deo.html . Not to mention about everything Ry Cooder ever played and recorded.I would love to build a coodercaster..love the sound of the pickups..just different..got that 'slide' tone. IMO. In the meantime..I'll just use my trusty ol' Telecaster.
