I followed these instructions and was able to start the car, but the buttons on my smart key (to lock and unlock the door) are not working. Any ideas why?
I have 2 Chrysler 300 smart keys and 3 2017 Ford escape smart keys and VVDI key tool said they are unlocked but they won't program to the cars have you run into this before
HI and thanks for nice video again. I was planning to buy this tool almost a year ago, but could not find exactly what it does for US market keys/fobs. Did you try to unlock 17-18 Rams, Durangos? or 17 Camaro ? , 17 Tahoe smart keys? Also did you try to clone any keys with that ?
I have the AutoProPad lite it does not clone, I haven’t done a 2017 camaro or 2017 Tahoe - can the smartpro do those cars I will ask the guys at xtools and let you know / it can program 17-18 ram & Durango

The Mini key tool can do pretty much everything the original VVDI key tool can do. I'm currently unlocking dozens of these fobiks and other keys, using only the Mini and the renew adapters.

Both cradles and VVDI can be bought on AliExpress, these are expensive, cradles and handheld is about 6-700$ I think.

Why unlock is needed ?
If the key fob was used on another car you have to unlock to use it on a different car..
If not unlocked it won’t work
How do they get locked up
When it was programmed for a car in the past. It needs to be unlocked first in order to be reprogrammed for a different car.

Never tried, I have A 2013 Hyundai Sonata Prox that’s locked Its has the same FCC ID : SY5HMFNA04 I’ll give it a try ... is your machine Up-to-date

Why unlock them cost isn’t that high for a new one.
I buy them on eBay OEM are expensive better quality than the cheap aftermarket ones...
