aint sure if you have done this already but do nascar wreckfest 2016 Geico 500 because there were 2 flips, harvick got on his side and the big one collected like 20 drivers
I hate that Dover only has one date now and might possibly have none come 2023. The track is an incredible track but the gen 6 and its aerodynamics didn't lend it to good racing. I really think the next gen car is gonna make this year's Dover race anywhere from solid to a straight up banger
@@rudyk5518 Thankfully we're up to 670 with low downforce next season. Should bring Dover back to life. Especially now that NASCAR designed an actual RACE car instead of a crapwagon. Now we just need more European and Japanese OEMs to make the manufacturer battles actually interesting. Mostly American is boring.
@@rodneyproductions5044 There's no point in outcasting international OEMs. The more OEM's the better, IMO, regardless of where they are from. Besides most of the best cars in the world are not made in America. I want to see a battle of all the best manufacturers in NASCAR. Not just the ones that hee haws waving the confederate participation flag approve of.
Cmon jack that thaaaang up. Whooo going hard up off 4 just had nowhere to go. Plowed into him and took him and myself out. But hey man, thats just one of em dere racing deals. Gonna go get em next week. "
i go to dover every year. The race is hit or miss for excitement. I know they cant ever make this track a night race due to Dover Airbase being right next door. This track would be awesome under the lights.
My first race, as a Kyle Petty fan it was rough watching him wreck right in front of me but when you’re a Kyle Petty fan you learn to temper your expectations 😂
Don't know where you got your history from but it definitely wasn't Johnny's first full season😂😂 #30 AOL car man look it up. Harvick was supposed to drive it before dale Sr died then Harvick took the 29 and Sauter the 30.
The wreck fest of this race made up for the lack of crashes (as in all 43 cars finished) the week prior in the Sylvania 300, which was the first NASCAR race I ever went to, only a couple spins and Bowyer getting his first win, that was about it.
Dover is still good. The so called "race cars" NASCAR has been using just suck ass. Glad to see NASCAR going to real race cars in 2022. Now we just need more European and Japanese OEMs to make the manufacturer battles actually interesting. Mostly American is boring.
I'm also not sure how more wrecks makes a track better. This race was not a good race by Dover standards. The COT and Gen 6 ruined the racing there. The wreckfests at Daytona and Talladega have made those tracks the laughing stock of the world of motorsports. So lots of wrecks doesn't = a better race
My favorite part of this track is the exits of the turns
Looking at the cars coming out of the turns idk why but its satisfying
Yeah because of the bumps on the exits it looks so cool
The "self cleaning" racetrack. 95% chance if you wreck, youll be down on the apron when its all over
Lol, the caution is out for DaBreeze. Must be one of those field filllers I’ve not heard of.
There were many
Yay! We have a cup one of these now! This should be fun.
Edit: Just finished. Can confirm it was fun.

Yes
I remember watching this race. I was absolutely crushed when Matt’s engine let go. He was stupid fast that day.
That was such a calling card for those late 90s/early to mid 00s Roush engines. Fast as hell but just as volatile.
Schrader went on the radio right after that clip with Kyle Petty and said "tell Kyle's crew I'm sorry, I missed it".
Look how many people are in the stands! It’s packed!
I miss it. Dover had to remove all the stands in turn 1 and 2 just so it didn’t look empty on tv
I got a couple of suggestions for this series: The 2015 Southern 500 and the Goodys 500 from the same year
Damn is this really what graphics looked liked on tv back in 2007? Great video by the way! Keep it up!
Yeah, it was pretty good.
I love Dover because it's so challenging and takes so much skill. I love Pocono for the same reason.
Thank goodness somebody else cares about the challenge of the track itself.
So sick of people saying they dont like the track because it's not very exciting but the challenge of the track is what makes it exciting
Really loving the content here with the full detail rundown. Keep it up man!
I miss "field of 43" so much. Stupid charter system.
You and me both
Dover + COT = Instant Wreckfest
3:27 The way these unrestricted engines sounded on the rev limiter is something to behold.
Throwback to when Dover produced good racing
Yeah
Now it's a shell of it's former self
I have never watched a race at Dover. Does someone know if something tangible happened, resulting in the lack of good racing?
@@simoneburini4036 the Gen 6 cars starting in 2016
Throwback to when nascar put on good racing
It's not a Dover problem. It's the cars. Too much side force, downforce and not enough horsepower
A couple wreckfest from 2021 you could do are the first truck series race from darlington and the truck race from Knoxville

My home track in my birth year. Always a fun track to go to. Heading there later this year.
Man dover used to be so cool not anymore
Gen 6 ruined it, especially the 750 and 550 packages

They used the pretender in the beginning 😍

If only Biffle won with the Nintendo Wii sponsorship.
Dover’s a seriously underrated track these days. Very disappointed it’s down to just one date now
Man do i miss the dodge chargers... Hey can you do the 2016 geico 500 ? That race was crazyy
The 2007 COT dodges were actually Avengers

Man Kyle petty got wrecked twice
Oddly enough Dover is a fun track in Nascar psp. Weirdly enough the game doesn't have as many wreaks as irl races due. Sadly
2nd race I ever attended
This was my first cup race, I remember Dale waving to me under red flag

Yes it was. He was previously part time. I did my research, so do your research before trying to say anything.
Didn't Jeff Green drive the 30 car?

They kept it clean until lap 12.... of 400
