Im tired of not living the way i want to when at the end of the day, we ultimately have the control! im going to do what i love and a lot of what i have been feeling lately resonates nicely with the idealogy behind your own podcast. which im excited to start listening to! I’ve been wanting to start a podcast for some time but I don’t really want to video record myself and was thinking about having my recordings be audio only. Is this not a smart move? Do most podcast listeners like having a visual to look at as well? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Oh no worries at all! Video is actually a newer edition but I think majority of podcast listeners are via audio. :) I say if video is too much to start, stick with simple audio (whatever to keep the momentum of you starting) because podcasting is such a long game, you can always switch to video later if time and resources allow. 🤗

OBS is the software that syncs the audio + visual into one file and then once it spits out the one file, I bring it into Wondershare (an editing software) to edit the video/add music/add texts, etc. :)
I edit our podcast myself but there are also lots of professional who can edit for you! @TessBarclay has a great podcasting editing studio! www.busyblooming.ca/editing
Hahah! Trust me I get it 😂 When in doubt though, literally an iPhone will do the trick. If you want to spice it up/have crispy audio, I'd just use a mini mic from Amazon you can plug into your phone and call it a day :)
Totally fine! I think that's perfect cause you actually eliminate ideas through actual validation. And then it makes it easier to focus on the "better" or more aligned one. Also in the early days, that's the blessing because you can afford to pivot easily without many people noticing!

You totally can! Podcasts were originally audio so whatever gets you going I think is the best option :) Video is still a bonus for most listeners, in my opinion! Don't let it stop you from reaching your people!

Hands down having an OUTLINE is so key! I felt like in the beginning I had all the ideas and would just blabber lol. Now it allows me to structure my ideas which also helps with editing later on as well!
YES haha relate so much especially for editing! 😂 At least with the outline I blabber in a cohesive way-ish. Sometimes the extra stuff makes for some good content too!

Totally understandable! I think that's also what held me back for a while but honestly the iPhones are such good quality these days, if that's what's easiest, go for it. You can even get those $25 lapel mics or mini mics from Amazon to have that microphone quality/effect (they take seconds to sync on bluetooth) and you're good to go! Let me know if the helps!

Amazing! So glad it could be helpful! It looks like the $189 one is just "SSL 2" edition where as the $250 one is "SSL2+". I'm assuming the 2+ means it has 2 channels plus 2 phones (2 knobs, "phone a" and "phone b"). We have the $189 one and it just has one knob for "phones" and we have no issues. It comes with the XLR's and headphones so that's nice :)
Thank for video. Just starting out and I have a zoom H6, mics and my iPhone and IPad. Setting a 2 person podcast. How do I capture the video portion with that equipment I’m confused 😐 any wisdom will be a huge help!
Of course! Good question :) to my knowledge it sounds like you’ve got the audio interface/recorder (zoom h6) and video tool (iPhone/ipad down) so you just need podcast mics + XLR cables so you can plug the mic (using the XLR cable) into the zoom h6 recorder and start recording. That should set you up for an audio file! I’ve never used the zoom h6 but my guess is you connect that to a laptop to get the file. If you want to do a visual podcast as well as audio, you can use your iPhone to record and plug into the same laptop. This is where you’ll need a system like OBS to sync the audio file from your zoom h6 and your video footage from your iPhone. When you set up those audio and video sources in OBS and press “start recording”, it will automatically sync. In the latter half of the video I have some visuals of how you can do that! Let me know if that helps 🫶🏾🫶🏾

Definitely on UA-cam! TikTok also just started allowing horizontal 10 minute videos so you can probably do longer clips there but unfortunately most socials are limited to short form :( but I recommend cutting them into smaller shorts/clips to get fresh eyes! It's a great strategy!

I'm truly looking for someone that would go straight to the point, a straight shooter if you will, and just help me out with the actual technical information. The rest I can figure out on my own. I wish I could find a real technical expert that would let me ,alone, deal with the content or the message. People like Jimmy Dore, Russell Brand, Alex Christoforou, Lena Petrova and some upcoming names like Emil Cosman or even Candice Owens or Tucker Carlson, Lionel Nation , etc etc the only thing they have on me is the technical expertise or suppot. I have been wanting to start a podcast for years now and even bought some equipment but I am worried that a solo podcast would be boring. I can’t always have guests cuz I do not live in a big city. I'm truly looking for someone that would go straight to the point, a straight shooter if you will, and just help me out with the actual technical information. The rest I can figure out on my own.
I wish I could find a real technical expert that would let me ,alone, deal with the content or the message.
People like Jimmy Dore, Russell Brand, Alex Christoforou, Lena Petrova and some upcoming names like Emil Cosman or even Candice Owens or Tucker Carlson, Lionel Nation , etc etc the only thing they have on me is the technical expertise or suppot.

It was worth watching and listening to your ideas, and you touched on almost all that i came on search for. I'm preping to start a podcast journey and i agree with you that content is key, coz it is easier an tempting to stray off course by focusing on production. I came here particularly to find out how to sign up on spotify for podcaster hosting platform, because i tried last evening creating an account but noticed they asked to upload the episode, which i don't even have ready. So i have to put that on hold, shoot my first episode and get my cover done with before getting backk on there. Thanks for all you shared.

I have been wanting to start a podcast for years now and even bought some equipment but I am worried that a solo podcast would be boring. I can’t always have guests cuz I do not live in a big city. So I’m not sure if anyone would listen and what topics to talk about. I’m mostly interested in beauty but not sure what topics would make sense since beauty is such a visual thing 😅

I've really seen a rise in beauty creators podcasting in depth about their personal beliefs, habits, and mindset that ties into the products they use/lifestyle they have.
