Cheap Chinese Excavator 1 Year Review

- Today I have to do some landscaping around the shop so I thought I'd take some time to show this AGT H12 excavator in operation and give some of my thoughts about it. Thanks for watching!
only 15 hours in a year? i would be playing around way more with a little toy like that
Right?! I'd be digging holes just so I could fill them in again 😂
Right! I just bought the same machine put 20 hrs on in the first week
I’d put that in one day lol..
@@Ganstergrom machines too efficient can’t find anything to do with it 😂
I’ve done 23 hours in 4 weeks, and that’s just on the weekends🤪🇦🇺
I have one too, with a Briggs&Stratton petrol engine. You need to lower the RPM's for jobs like this. Half-throttle gives more than enough oilpressure but then it jolts considerably less. I think they're great machines to have around the house. Compared to rental costs, break-even is around 50 hours orso. After that it's a free lifetime toy :)
Where did you buy? I'm seeing lots of American dealers picking these up and jacking up the price which defeats the purpose. Trying to find a direct source tbh.
@@chariddawn6663 I'm from the Netherlands. Bought one locally some years ago when the these cheap excavators weren't nearly as popular as now. Some guy here shipped a few containers full of excavators over from China and had troubles selling them. I think I paid about €6500 for it including 3 buckets, and a thumb. I really love it!
Do you know what type hydraulic fittings these use?
I bought one of these a few weeks ago and I've been very pleased with it. Surprisingly powerful.
What’s the best place to purchase something like this!?
Great video and awesome little machine
Looks fun but wondered if I had a #2 shovel next to that pile if I could fill that trailer faster. As a simple trencher, definitely a better solution.
You're more than welcome to use a shovel all you want. Fuck all that. This thing beats a shovel any day of the week any way you can split it
I was thinking the same thing ....
I had the same thought 😁
@@Will-tm5bjpeople delusional to think they gonna outwork a machine. It's probably going to be their job that AI Takes as well 😂
Couple of things: get on top of the pile, much easier to get a bucketful; put the wide bucket on, you'd've filled the trailer in about 3 scoops; move the thumb ram to the top hole in the dipper, get it out of the way; the blade is at the front of the machine, not the back. That's why there's 2 big arrows on the undercarraige. Also, slew to the side like someone else said. HTH!
I was thinking same thing. With that small bucket, it almost seems like you could do it just as fast by hand with a shovel. So how big of a bucket could be put on this machine? Would the machine be able to handle a bucket that is twice that size with the added weight? Thanks.
@@boeingav8r They usually come with 3 buckets: trenching, digging and levelling. The levelling one's usually about 900 for this size machine.
@@boeingav8reven if I could be faster with a shovel, you'll save both money and your health long term by doing it this way. Shoveling is one of the worst things you can do to your back.
I feel like it's healthier to shovel. Paid to do cardio@@dangerdanadv1445
Did anyone think they could have had it filled with rock using a shovel faster than the 2nd scoop!
Yep
Yea, maybe a few loads would be faster by hand but i would rather operate some controls all day over operating a shovel all day. Plus he will get faster once he gets use to the machine.
@@MrSleepProductionsIncget used to it?? He’s had it for a year.
Can probably put a bigger bucket on
Depends. That thing can cut full buckets of sod, clay, and 30lbs of gravel at a time. Gets pretty tiring. I used mine on a pile of composted mulch which is hard to scoop with a shovel because of the fibers. Turned a 3 hour job into 1 fun and easy one.
A nice working video, Mike! Thanks for sharing another day in your life.
Boy , that’s a handy tool, beats the heck out of shoveling! 😊
Nice little excavator, thanks for sharing 👍.
If it would last me for few years / or atleast 100 hours I would definitely buy it !!! Few months ago they were 7k + now you can find locally for $5500 !!! Worth the money
15hrs? Dude I wouldn’t walk around anymore, I’d be riding it around everywhere
Thanks for sharing Mike. Technically though an excavator is best used for digging into the ground and I guess I would be more interested in seeing how it performs in digging into dry ground. Thanks again.
If you move the "thumb" out of the way, the bucket can curl more and you won't drop so much gravel and double the amount you move.
Blade cylinder hoses look mighty naked and prone to get hung up on debris.
Rumor has it, those 15 hours on the machine was filling 3 of those little wagons with rock 😅
Haha.. Yeah thats what happens when I rent an excavtor.. Like geez, this would be quicker with a shovel..:)
Well, where I live and dealing with the small rocks, you would be out there all day with a shovel. Ill gladly use this instead. Perfect for digging holes for trees. Also, that machine would kick your ass with a shovel. Give that back breaking work 5 or 10 minutes, then we'll talk lmao
Mike, swivel the body through 180 degrees and the dozer blade will be at the front, in fact it's meant to be used that way round so that the track motors trail and are less vulnerable to damage. Of course when you are grading right up to a building the arm will be in the way but most times you can just raise it because there's nothing in front of you.
You really didn't give the pros and cons about the machine. Thought you would have talked about the machine more.
Good video, some advice you can swivel your carriage to the side and look over the edge when you’re running the blade
tip...... when using grading blade were you said you could not see the work, spin the excavator house to the right, than you can see the grading blade and work. curl bucket in and lower boom a touch
Great review Mike. I want one! 👍👍
When you're pushing material like you are toward that building turn the cab sideways so you can see the blade a lot easier without hurting your neck and your back.
Normally it's better to flatten off the top of the pile and sit on top of the pile when you're loading into a trailer or truck.
That way you're also keeping the pile nice and neat and not spreading it out.
Idk... me personally would have loaded that loose gravel with flat shovel way faster, easy peazy
For other stuff I'm sure this is better
Yeah, a shovel is way cheaper. And just as fast. Plus it doesn't burn fuel or bust cheap chinese hoses. Oil changes, etc. 5 grand could have been a down payment on a machine actually worth while
Happy to hear this because I just bought one new for $4,200.00
Nice! How do you like it? I have land I could use this at. Where’d you pick it up?
@@kyleRS87 I purchased it here in Albuquerque at an auction. There were about 20 to choose from. New and used. There were also old rental equipment for sale. I've only driven it off of the trailer and into my storage container.
@@tonymunn that’s awesome. I’m in Wisconsin and I found a dealership in Chicago with shipping for $5-5.5k so I will probably go that route. From everything I’ve seen, it looks like a great machine for the money
@kylers87 what dealer?
@@SCDeerAddict AGT Industrial
So u have a link to purchase?
I have seen other excavators that have the push blade mounted to the drive chassis instead of the excavator body
you don't have to look off the back just rotate the body so that you're looking down at the blade. The boom and the counter weight will be going EAST to WEST while the machine is moving NORTH to SOUTH. That's why I do..
Definitely a better alternative then digging holes by hand with a shovel
I looked at them
Ended up getting 2nd hand kubota
The engine in that sounds like my pressure washer
That's basically what it is lol. Pressure Washer/Log Splitter type motors 😂
You can order them with all kinds of different Diesel engines as well. Kubota, Yanmar, Perkins, etc.
They sell these at auctions for about $4k in CA. Have you tried to pull the battery? The strap is bolted on both sides and you can’t get to the front bolt. Had to cut the floor to widen the opening and get to the bolt. Other than that it’s been working well for me, I use it mostly for pulling out tree stumps, and yes, it’s too light for that but there are ways around.
We’re moving a range of Brand new ones for about that price out of Richmond Hill, our showroom, you or anybody else need more info let me know. BDI Equipment
@rexlu6553 you have a website ?
just posted a video on my channel of mine with a tree sheer on it! was mind blown how well these units can handle material
Great video, but it does expose the limitations of such a light digging machine. The machine has to have mass (weight...) to be very effective at digging and moving the spoils.
Lol. The push blade on the back.... You know it pivots right. You can put it on the front..... or pro move, put the tracks sideways.
Would you consider letting us know what you don't like about it
It a 13.5 briggs motor. It like my HT10b boddy style. The blade is the front. Turn the excavator to the side. Then u can see better
well i was hoping to see maybe a few other things it might handle. In your opinion could it handle pulling up tree roots? Thanks for the video.
For moving rock piles, better to use a tractor and bucket. I could've moved half that pile by the time he filled that tiny trailer. Also, why use the blade with the cab turned forward so you can't see? Idve turned the house parallel to the wall, and then moved the rock.
Funny I always welcome wet beavers
How much was it and where are they sold?
Pro Team Auction in White Pine TN, usually go for around 4000.
Does any1 know where the engine oil is located for this thing?
Do you know what type hydraulic fittings these have?
How good do they dig?
hello my half Asian brother!
So I'm interested in one of these. Would you say its big enough to cut a trench say 2.5 feet deep?
How would this do digging down and along a sewer line?
I want one so bad. Been trying to save to buy something like this
I'm confused. 15 hours? Does that mean 15 hours? In a year? If I had that I would have used it that much in two days.
I have to be missing something. Will someone help me?
Means the engine has ran for 15 hours in its life.
Just wondering what the B and S engine is like on gas, and is it one or two cylinder?
Nice video can these pick up a decent size log thinking of going into small sawmill business
What do you close the bucket after you dump each scoop
I got the AGT 1.5 ton 2 days ago and it's already got 15 hours lol
How much was this machine new?
it just can do 1 move in one time or can make 2 or 3 movi in one time?
Price?
15 hours in a year... You should have bought a showel instead.
Moved more with the rake lol
y'all have any idea what weight the arm could lift? I am looking for a backhoe to move 800lb - 1000lb palm trees on and off a loading trailer because our current system isn't very efficient. This seems like a really good contender but I am wondering if it could possibly lift around that 1000lb before tipping over. Cheers!
Having looked at it earlier this morning on ali baba, That machine is supposedly rated 1 ton.
Removing beaver dams causes flooding downstream. It's best to let rain runoff slowly seep into the ground and recharge the aquifers.
This could be used to dig a simple footer for sure
not much of revue try it for 30 minutes constant work,, Mine gets Overheated and shuts off,, and i dont see no cooling fan or radiators there
Briggs & Stratton 😂
It's the only reliable thing on it 😅
The engine is just to move it around, the hydro pump does all the work
15 hrs in an entire year???? It’s not even broken in.
15 hours on day 1 on my site😂
15 hours in a year? I put more hours in Roblox than that. Wouldn’t it be cheaper and more efficient to just rent one when you need it? I would imagine one of those still runs like $7000-$9000. That’s a lot of money to use an average of 2 minutes per day………
Why close the bucket after you dump it in the trailer?
I try not to buy any thing made in China
👍
👍❤️👍
You buy Japanese one probably same price and made better
15 hours in a year bro wtf is this, i use my tractor 14.5 hours a day wtf
sit sideways so you can see
Oh boy that was rough to watch . It's not fluid in motion at all and idk if it's the cheap junk or the operator. ....😳
Take that thumb off...you'll find how much more useful it is without it. Power is about the same at 3/4 throttle as it is wide open, running it hard for no reason
Ya obviously that 15 hrs wasn’t done by you with that performance….might have practiced a little before doing that on camera and showing everyone.
15 hours in one year? Why even buy it.
Where was the info? Likes and dislikes. Try again please.
5.hp?..
They're 13.5hp
Fuk me drunk 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 this was the most painful thing I've ever watched.....
Mate!!
Come on now......why the hell are you closing the bucket back up, after tipping into the red trailer. Only to open the bucket again when your above the gravel...leave the bucket open😂😂😂😂😂
15 hrs dont
count
funny i was thinking the same thing about I could shovel the gravel faster and someone already made that comment. My shoveling cost no gas!
Looks like a shovel would be quicker
I have an Agrotk qh12. The thumb is very useful but also very intrusive. Pain to move it too. A no tool/pin arrangement would help. Adding a hydraulic thumb is not cost effective.
I can get a Wacker 803 rental for $25 an hour if purchased in 40 hour blocks and about $6 per hour in fuel cost, so $31 an hour total. The FF12 is $5,500 brand new to purchase local, break even point with fuel cost is 211 hours, including resale value it's around 55 hours vs rental.
❤ howmuch
Not a fan of chinesium
Go cry about it in your small dark corner.
Everything you own comes from China lol
Engine's rpm seems a bit high but it sure makes it move quick
It's a gasoline motor.
you should leave the bever dams ... look into the benefits of bever dams
dawg you used it 15 hours in a year??? you didn't even break it in yet. why would you buy something like this to use 15 hours a year? and i bet you still didn't do the proper maintenance on it.
What maintenance does it need at 15 hours?
@@onsh it's not the 15 hours it's the 15 hours a year meaning it's sitting and will still need the tank ran dry and filter changed, oil changed, joints greased, and if it's new it doesn't hurt to adjust the valves back to spec once it breaks in
Not really a review with only 15 hours, more dust on it than work😂😂😂
At only 15 hours you probably shouldn't have shelled out the cash for that thing.
😂 I think a shovel would be a lot more time efficient
Not unless you will do it for me.
Very cool 😊
15 hours and the tracks are already splitting?
Need to find one here in San Antonio.
QC?? Tu l'as acheté où?
😂
Buy American
Ahh yes buy american modell that has parts from china 😂
