I was in a situation like that that I was trapped in, I couldn’t leave because she’d threaten my life or threaten her own. When I finally got out she told everybody all of these lies about me, and I don’t wanna be one of these guys, but they believed her because she was a woman. Nobody cared that she’d had a notorious history of being violent and a liar and had said this about other men. They just believed complete lies at face value and it destroyed me. I still deal with the fallout today. But I know the truth, God knows, and those close to me know. It’s a very hard situation to talk about and as men, at least me personally, I don’t want to talk about it, I just want to move on. I don’t want to slander her or affect her life negatively I just wanted her away from me so I could have peace. I wasn’t a saint either, but I didn’t do any of the shit people believe about me and it was literally survival mode being with her. I’d be on the phone to my mum every day I wasn’t with her just to get through it. Nobody knows that men go through this too, and nobody seems to care.
