Yesss! This song is SO good, it's insane. I'm still not sure if I like it more than Sticker, because I've listened to Sticker so much longer, but both are for sure some of my top tracks this year. On one hand Favorite feels very beautiful and more palatable than Sticker, but on the other Sticker feels much more unique and catchy, so I guess I have to concede that NCT are just too good at releasing music. Favorite's chorus is PERFECTION, the concept is deadly, the choreo looks great. Favorite is more reminiscent of 2nd gen songs, which is so cool to hear that sound. The dance break isn't in the official audio btw it was for the mv and will probably be used for award show stages. The lyrics to Favorite are so intense, it's like depressingly desperate love that is sung so beautifully and powerfully you almost don't realize how dramatic their words are lol I LOVE the music video a lot, it's so cool. YES the butterfly is definitely noted, along with Yuta's vampire eyes looking VERY close to snake eye of Black Mamba in Aespa's savage. There is some more connections with NCT and Aespa actually, in Aespa's SMCU episode they showed a panel where they drew someone Ningning was interacting with as a hacker and the art looks like either Jaehyun or Jungwoo and the butterfly makes it more suspicious. Nothing concrete overcourse, especially since 127's vampire concept doesn't really fit, but it's some fun lil hints to notice and theorize about.
That board made me wheeze. 🤣 The harmonization in this song took me by surprise. I avoided the teaser so when everyone kept saying vampire concept, I thought they'd take a darker approach musically. I'm not surprised that Haechan pulled off a dark concept so well. His expressions were so subtle throughout the video, because his eyes were the killing point. He's so self-aware and critical of how he presents himself that he's able to make it look effortless. Also... edgy Bunny and Jungwoo. 👌 And then there's Jaehyun, who simply... exists. Causes chaos across the internet. Naturally looking like a vampire. 😭 I swear him and Johnny only have 2 modes: Shockingly sexy or incredibly sweet and adorable, there's no in between.
the dance break took me by surprise too as thoughts of superm's jopping came to mind but mv wise, it added that 127 element of adventure they've been known for. the song though is poignant as it is beautiful especially during johnny's scenes and haechan's your love your love towards the end, it evoked raw emotions.

Those harmonies at the end, which defines their rich sound [nobody else sounds like them!] does it for me! I like the instrumentation in 'Sticker' but the harmonies in this song are far superior. SM groups are known for their vocals, and together, NCT vocals are stylistically in a class by themselves. That flute sound continuing from 'Sticker' may put some people off, and that bridge is almost YG crazy but OMG when Doyoung comes in (it's even better on the music stage, if you can, watch their Halloween Inkigayo stage). Also in that video, we see Ningning send out a butterfly from her hacker station. Was that a distress signal? Karina in this video is seen with one red eye, one blue. The colors of the Dream/Reality concept for NCT. Ningning’s concept photo for Savage has her wearing a headdress full of butterflies. In a couple of the teaser photos for Favorite, we see Taeyong with a pin of a black snake. Jungwoo has a butterfly on his shirt in this same group of images. The beginning of the Favorite video has our guys sleeping. Presumably, because they are synchronized in their dream with the song. Taeyong, while not even waking up, received a butterfly in his mouth. Is this the signal Ningning sent from Savage? I noted there are only two members with fangs. Taeyong and Mark. They are also the two SuperM members in 127. Jaehyun is shown as the only one that has been bitten. Mark and Taeyong are also the only ones that have a background that is creepy woodsy. This is where I got taken back to Taeyong’s SuperM teaser. It is reminiscent of that along with the fact that Taeyong is in a theater watching himself and we find him in a theater again in The Story of Favorite. Now Jungwoo. He is seen exposing his heart and we see the butterfly penetrating it. Is this the destination the butterfly was seeking? There are only three members that are seen on the cliff (KWANGYA related?). My ending theory of the day… Taeyong and Mark are the antagonists that were sent from SuperM. Much like Ten is the one sent from SuperM with the WayV stuff that goes on in their videos. I feel like they infected Jaehyun. And now Taeyong, who has multiple forms of himself according to the SuperM trailer, can shapeshift into Jaehyun. 1:42 in the video. Our main protagonist is Jungwoo who I believe has the direct connection to Ningning. Not Jaehyun who everyone has been thinking. Doyoung is also a protagonist in my theory, and they are out to beat Black Mamba as well and save the aespa girls that have been taken over in their Savage video. Black Mamba probably isn’t Taeyong but has been heavily influenced. I think Black Mamba could be hiding in SuperM.
