Never watched golf until Tiger. I had no idea someone could do what he did. Same with Clark. Never watched except in passing the WNBA until now. It wasn't good enough to give it the time. Blowouts or competitive games between 2 bad teams isn't good watching. But. the Fever just gets better and better and race has nothing to do with it but hard work to play as a team has everything to do with it.
Like all the players in the WNBA before Clark didn't get the same opportunity as Clark and Caitlin got it all handed to her. It's truly mind boggling how often race comes into play. CC is a great BB player.

The fact the UA-cam keeps saying no one knew about her tells it all. Swoops had her own Nike shoe deal she was propped up by MJ. She was the first pick of the first players draft. She was a household name before there was the WNBA. I remember being excited to see her play in the WNBA and then she got pregnant, missing the start of the season. I tried watching the first season of the WNBA. It always seem to at the same time for me to take a nap. By the time Swoops was able to play she missed the spark she could of been to usher in the new league.

Swoopes has a tendency to “cross the line” when dealing with members of the program in regards to their performances and personal lives, according to a source close to the team who asked to remain anonymous.
“She really pushes them to the point of misery and to the point where they shut down,” said the source. “A lot of them feel very trapped about who they can talk to in the Athletic Department because regardless of who they choose, it usually gets back to Sheryl … and I think when it gets to that point … there is no outlet.”
The source also said Swoopes interferes with players’ lives outside of basketball.
Loyola Chicago fires Sheryl Swoopes after investigation, just days before July recruiting begins
After a lengthy investigation into alleged misconduct of players, Loyola University Chicago fired Hall of Fame head coach Sheryl Swoopes late Sunday afternoon, according to a report in the Chicago Sun-Times. The school’s athletic director, Steve Watson, issued the following statement:
“Sheryl Swoopes is no longer serving as the women’s basketball coach at Loyola University Chicago. A search for her replacement will begin immediately. Loyola thanks Sheryl for her service to the women’s basketball program.”
Swoopes was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in April amidst the investigation and after a period of high student-athlete turnover. Ten of the 13 players on the 2015-16 team left the program or had plans to ask for a release, leaving just three players. Five players left after the 2014-15 season.
Swoopes had a 31-62 (.333) record in three years at Loyola. During her first year, the team finished the season 11-21. The following year the program record was 6-25. Swoopes led an upswing this past season with a 14-16 record. The year before she became head coach, the Ramblers finished 17-15 under Eric Simpson, the last time the program had a winning season.
Angel good only in rebounding, but cannot make plays. And she cannot carry her team to win games. She was only supported by Caitlyn haters. Its good that Caitlyn drag her name in filling up stadium.

Truly am concerned for Angel Reese because of the drama created by the likes of Cheryl Swoopes. That hug was a metaphor for Swoopes own self-serving agenda. The result may be Reese crashing and burning as she chases celebrity. It's very sad.

People who are calling out the assault on Caitlin from behind by DeShields aren't "defending" Caitlin, because she didn't do anything to defend her about. She was entirely unaware of what was happening when she was struck from behind, and when she managed to get to her feet she scrambled to get distance away from everyone to keep whatever was happening from getting worse - deescalating the situation. It was the third foul in a row in a very short amount of time from the same player, and that time she was plowed into from behind so hard that it sent her sprawling on the floor. Everyone knows that Caitlin is playing with a sprained ankle, and it's obvious that DeSheilds was trying to further damage the ankle by causing Caitlin to fall badly and off balance. It was a cowardly sneak-attack from behind, pure and simple.
As for Swoopes, if she can't call games objectively based on the action that's taking place on the court and keep her personal opinions of players out of it, she has no business commentating during games. Announcers aren't supposed to have agendas or biases. If she can't act like a professional when doing her job then she needs to be fired from the job.
Fire her. Lieberman did a great job. Hope they give her more time slots.

I was a senior in high school in 82 and played all sports and 1/4 Alaskan Indian and white and played 2 years of basketball in college but in high school I remember hearing about Swoopes and not having wi fi but still read or seen her talent and I knew she was not white but I appreciated her skills in college and I said she’s a great phenomenal player. No hate but I loved how hard she had to have worked and hid given talent to show case. Now her abilities are tarnished as I think of her now. She needs peace and just understand that people come along and outshine others or records. Some records are broken and she’s old enough to know better. To just sit back and watch or have that fire inside you to make you boil is ugly. We have enough ugly in this world. Hope she comes out of her scar if hate and give praise and know as a human it’s easier to love than carry hate. All races have lemons but in your job or life no need for hate of skin. Hope she finds God or says I can’t be this person that she knows she is or letting people that respect her to give up on.

You are 100% right when you said that "I've heard of Swoop because of Caitlin Clark". I never heard of Swoop before Clark either. I had no idea she was even out in the world.
The WNBA marketing sucked/sucks. Before Clark, they idea of marketing was to go in TV and podcasts and blame guys for now watching their game. Last I checked the make up of male female was around 50/50 so they could be concentrating on getting the ladies involved in watching/supporting.
So now along comes Caitlin Clark - I think some of the haters in the game have come around because they know what benefits Caitlin, benefits them all down the line.
There's no way anyone should place you in the same category as Swoopes.

Miss Swoopes was so unhappy that another bball player having the No. 22 (refer to Comets no. 22) is so skillful and went past even her own record. Cant she love another player lifting the WNBA??
