I think the licks Marty is referring to, Iommi lifted from Hendrix. The triplets from flat-third to the 1 down the 5 on the E and B string. Ditto the little trill hammer-ons that he uses as the fill in the verse. I noticed Clapton also used those often
Youre such a good player/teacher and i'm twelve years old and I have been playing guitar the past 7 mounths and you inspire me to play songs i would not have learned if i've not seen your youtube channel, and i'm also from sweden.
p.s. it's crazy how simple the rifts in this song are, and how much attention they put into the solos. it sounds so good without being just overwhelming. I feel like this is one of those "great learner" songs thanks for all the help!
that brings back memories i had a bass guitar I plugged it into the RCA jacks on those old hi-fi's back in the 70's my Dad had a really nice one one big piece of furniture it was, so I plugged the amp in and try to play that first riff on bass, the look my parents gave me, the earful of got from my old man , never took up the bass but something about being a 16 year old trying to play Sabbath and pissing off your folks, a rite of passage LOL
CLASSIC!!! Thanks so much for this! It's great when you teach all the parts like this. So many other people just teach the main riff and leave you hanging. You are THE BEST!!!
Marty your the Best...Griff Hamlin..Also..You Guys are the only Music Teachers I watch..Been watching for the Longest time...I Learned Alot from you Guys...I Play ok except short fingers..Fingers do make a difference..I saw that you were at Sweetwater..I been doing buss..with them Long time...I have talking them over the years I mentioned you and Griff Hamlin that I Learn Alot of Music from..Have to go....Thank you so much for the Guitar Playing...Frank Lombardi from P.A...Really from N.J...😁✌️🎸
Hey Marty, that's me again, your student always prompt to remember that Blues For The Red Sun is 30 years old since last june. Greetings. Thank you for this video!
Great song, great lesson by a great guy 👌 Ace to hear how the first person to call Carl on 365 was you! Cool when you hear stories like that, nice to hear something positive to come out of a bad situation ❤️🎸🤘
My girlfriend got the sudden urge to learn guitar this weekend (which never happens) and she started looking up lessons and i overheard your videos playing i started laughing so hard and explained i watched your videos too lol

Wow this has been one of my fav songs since I was a child in South Carolina , I’m in my 20’s now and my mom introduced me to great bands like Black Sabbath and AC/DC and many many many more cause she was a cop ! And a few years ago? I lost my house to a fire a few years ago and ever since I’ve been in southern Ohio and I still love these amazing bands and by the way? You did awesome! Tony himself would approve!
Marty with that last post I hope you have the time to show me how you have your Katana set up to get the sound you're doing so many things you can do with that app I love you too show me how you have it set up for the song when you get time thanks a lot
I think a big bonus for me is the season the boss katana just bought the boss katana double speaker 100 watts I'm hoping with some practice I'll sound like him and sometime I'm a optimist
marty, would you maybe upload the patch of your katana somewhere? i want to check how your tone here translates over to my guitar. I just cant get a nice gain tone with the mk2
I wasn't being critical, it's just that, when people learn songs, they should have an appreciation of what the other musicians are doing, Geezer's bass is outstanding, my experience is, many bass players at jam sessions, can't just wing the bass on Sabbath, it's integral to the sound and not easy! Love the Sabbath covers!
Hey Marty great lesson. I see you are using an SG .. I have 2021 les paul Prophecy with Fishman Fluence Modern Pickups what are your settings on your Katana are for this tune. A;so assuming both Bridge and neck PU are selected

Marty may not be a virtuoso but he’s defiantly above advanced. However his teaching style is what makes him 1 in a trillion like Hendrix.

If going to teach people how to do Sabbath on Guitar, link to someone teaching what Geezer is doing on Bass!
