- A complete and re-made dub of "Bad Liars" by Lola Summer ( / lolasummer5 , featuring full sound design for all scenes. Please support Lola by following their pages and giving the rightful praise they deserve for giving us such great artwork.
As some are aware, the original version of this dub was uploaded some time ago, but was taken down after the original artist raised concerns over changes that had been made. The full story regarding that can be found on my channel's Community tab. After speaking and working with them privately to ensure the dub matched the original intent of the artwork as best as it can, I present to you this 'Redux'. Major thanks to Lola for their help in making it.
The original comic is a really cool exploration of these characters that I hope the show proper indulges in. While everyone is right to remember that they are likely to be the villains in the overarching story of Hazbin, even those villains can have some depths to them besides being nasty. Lola's portrayal of Val trying to pass of his relationship to Vox as nothing serious while Vox knows better is a really interesting idea, possibly fitting how things used to be before they went sour as portrayed in the show's Instagram accounts. It's a great testament to how imaginative this fanbase can be.

This comic has so much subtle character development in it, and executed like this just makes it shine. Both Val and Vox are like glass windows in this one, they can take a look inside of each other's feelings, but no way they can break in. Since I saw the comic on twitter I hoped you'd dub it. Anyone else always thrown for a loop when Valentino's not *actively* being a vile disgusting monster?
Like you don't FORGET that he still is one, not for a second. But it really fucks with your brain to see him in a "softer" light, even just for a moment
You're almost left wishing he could just stay unabashedly evil 24/7 - major props being able to communicate that nuance for someone as despicable as Val
Val's a lot like Homelander from the Boys. He's an evil son of a bitch through and through, everybody knows it and everybody hates him for it. But this is probably the only scene where Val probably shows a tiny bit of humanity. Homelander is more sympathetic because he was never given the chance to be a truly good person, whereas Val chose to be evil. But his interactions with Velvet and even Vox show a tiny little drop of goodness in Val. He's beyond redemption in my eyes, but I'm not sure I can say with confidence that Val is pure evil. More like 99% evil, haha.
As cruel as Valentino can and probably has been, one of the things everyone forgets is that Valentino was once human... As much as we all hate Valentino for hurting Angel, Valentino was human and thus would feel some semblance of concern for his playthings... We also have to remember that we are in the Pride ring, meaning Valentino is by definition too proud to let slip that he feels such weak emotions like worry, regret or even fear... This comic puts into light one of the rare moments where Valentino lowers his guard and lets slip his deeper feelings... It's refreshing, and offers character development to someone you otherwise would wish to see become a stain on the road...

I feel like this has been said already but this is so underrated the voice acting is surprisingly good and the short yet compelling stories.
This is truly inspiring to me. Just the fact that I've felt and experienced this kind of mood before from this very comic. You can always love people and you can always feel scared. Sometimes you're scared to admit you love someone, to leave them, to hurt them, to let go. If you feel like that, it's never good. You shouldn't feel trapped in a relationship, I said that last time but I'm continuing to say it incase people out there reading this is going through this. Just know you can have power to and that it's okay to just tell you're loved one about something you feel insucured about. I love how you make Vox narrate the comic, that shows this comic in a different way to me. It's unbelievably inspiring, so I have to say..Thank you, Paranoid DJ.

Okay, I have a strange feeling that some people did not understand this comic ... Val in this comic wanted to give the impression that he wants Vox to die, he said so on the surface. So that it doesn't look like he cares. But it was true. He waited a hell of a long time for Vox to come back, and was furious when he didn't reply, he didn't know if he was alive or dead. Valentino is scared of love. He don't want to be in love, he thinks he shouldn't. Vox knows that. At first he thought he wouldn't fall into love, both of them thought so, and they were both really telling each other lies. Vox noticed the remnants of a whole ton of cigarettes, and realized that Val had been waiting for him so long because he cares. Valentino refuses to admit, refuses to SHOW that he loves Vox because he has a reputation that could be destroyed by it. Vox asking, though more stating if Val is tired , says through that they both have to "fake" their feelings, pretend they don't feel anything for each other, just a business relationship. It tires them both because they both want each other. Likewise, the opinion that Valentino is scared. He is afraid of love, he is afraid of losing his reputation, he is actually locked in his own emotions. Vox says at the end that he won't tell anyone about these feelings, not yet. This is my interpretation of the comic, it may be more or less accurate, but the comic itself didn't show us that Val wants to kill Vox, nor did it show a abusive toxic relationship, more the trouble of falling in love and powerlessness. Valentino was acting like "tsundere", he said things he didn't mean and Vox knew about it. Almost all the fandom hate Val for abusing Angel, I understand it, but slow down because we didn't get to know both sides. what Val did is horrible, whatever his intentions, but the show hasn't even started and you're jumping at the throats of those who "like" Val, he's still a fictional character, I might add this fact. DJ Paranoid great job, really damn good dub with this wonderful comic.

I really wish there were more comics with Velvet. She's got so much potential and there's so little out there about her.
There’s something that OfficialHazbinWeebie say last time before this got deleted and that was that love is a scary feeling how we never know if we can trust it or not or if we are being tricked into believing that the feeling is real. That love can change us in many ways than one, we don’t know what we change into and it’s because of that very feeling that makes it scary.
I don’t blame Valentino for whatever he is feeling but it is scary because we don’t know what becomes of us... do we become better or worser just because of a simple feeling. Is it even worth trying?
It's difficult really. You can be in love with someone if you want, but if you know that it isn't right you need to do something about it. The relationship will escalate toxically or become very unstable if you and the other person aren't stable with each other. But sometimes people feel trapped in their relationship or too scared to leave because of being so attached or using someone for their money, popularity, looks, anything really.
Oh broh, that's really deep, i think the same as you, love is a unknown mystery that will never be understanded by no one, even if the feeling is real, it doesn't matter, it just something that no one will never solve , it will be always ... scary.

I find myself saying, “Cool, now animate it.” a lot recently, and this is not an exception. This is amazingly put together.
see now this is the type of relationship i expect them two to have. where true love is kinda on the back-burner. after-all, they're some of the most cruel and ruthless overlords.
I really hope that this is the voice that stays cannon for these characters. It matches so well and I honestly get hypnotized, especially by Vals voice. 🥵

Even though I've commented on the previous version of this already, I'll still sing my praises and say this was well done! I definitely notice the change in dialogue compared to the first version. While both flowed naturally, this one shows a bit more chemistry between Val and Vox. And any chance we can get more of the relationship between these two is a good one. Brilliant as always, DJ!

No apology from Val at all. It was on his Instagram account. Also, Val killed his very own pet. With a gun. He didn’t care at all.
@@blaria95 But remember he does say "hey, did you break your fingers?" He's hurt that Vox didn't text him letting him know he's okay... and he was waiting up all night for him to come home. He does care about Vox... but when Vox realises this, Val does a 180 and tells him to fuck off. He's protecting his feelings... I'm curious about his back story... something or someone definitely hurt him in his previous life.

Fantastic job as always, but I just wanted to say I love that you used Dispossession from NieR, I never thought I would hear a NieR song in a Hazbin Hotel video but it fit really well with this! NieR's my favorite video game series EVER and I love that it's been getting more attention lately from the Replicant remake!

Definatilly one of my personal favorite comics. Vox trying to make sense of this situation. Val being his typical selfish self. Vox definatly getting some spotlight about his thoughts on their partnership. Though i'm not sure about val and thats probably for the best. Abusive/manipulative people who enjoy hurting others use vulerablity as a weapon. So its never clear if they're being honest or trying to buy your affection by playing nice

bruh this is the bet comic dub you have done, some with more loved characters might have more views but this is the most complicated and the one with the most character development. This is some of the most human writing of all of the comic dubs.

i swear to god ive watched this more than ten times and it still continues to be absolutely amazing. your voices for characters who dont even have any voices right now somehow fit so damn perfectly and its beautiful! the sound design also adds so much flavor to the whole project!! im sure you hear this a lot but i do really hope if you ever get the chance, you'll be able to voice a character (or more lmao) in hazbin, or help with the sound design of the series because you're great at both!!

In my eyes this is proof enough to see that Valentino has more layers than what we've seen so far from him.

We all need to remember that people aren't always evil. Some are acting. Some are scared. Some have their reasons.
That's what Valentino is. He's scared, scared to love, scared to lose his reputation. But most importantly, he scared to love someone and then... lose them. Just like we all probably are. Would you ever show you loved someone in a place where you were known as a heartless overlord, and risk ruining your reputation? Would you ever show love tome someone I a place that could use that love against you? Show love in a place that could steal it away in a heartbeat? Show love in a place where you have power, and someone could use that love against you?
Before we'll all,going hating someone, not even just Valentino, we need to think about their situation, their feelings. Okay?
I've also noticed people judging Lucifer, Val, and Vox for the way they are, commenting about comics about them about how "this shouldn't be this way becuase their not like that." When we haven't even MET them, when they haven't spoken a single word on screen. PLEASE, PLEASE, stop doing that.
